Gave this place a try on a recent Friday night, and both my wife & I thought it was very good. We had a steamed edamame appetizer, and then went with 2 different entrees off the Chinese section (chicken w/ broccoli & tofu w/ veggies). Also got a tuna roll on the side from the sushi menu. Everything was very good. It tasted fresh & flavorful, and well prepared. We asked for additional hot sauce, and they brought out 2 diff options: Sirachi style sauce, and then a hot peppers in oil sauce. We tend to enjoy our food a little spicier than most, and the peppers in oil were excellent for that. The service was excellent. We were well taken care of by the team of servers in the restaurant. Refilled soda & water glasses very quickly. We will definitely be heading back to dine here again. read more

This place was good. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was a little over cooked. The seared pepper white tuna roll was amazing! They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own bottle of wine if you like. Byob for future reference. All in all good sushi! read more

Good asian food at decent prices. I like the fact that they have chinese, japanese, and thai food here. The downside is that the menu turns out to be too big. I've tried food off of each menu and have not been disappointed, with the exception of getting takeout once and getting home to open it only to find red curry shrimp instead of the green curry shrimp I ordered. For a great appetizer, try the rock shrimp tempura. I would reccomend this place to anyone! read more

i've been here about 10 times since my initial review and have to say that the service and food have been consistently awesome. still haven't tried the cooked meals so my reviews only pertain to the sushi. raw, cooked, specialty we've tried almost every sushi item and they've all hit the spot. favorites include alaska roll (salmon, avocado, cucumber), shrimp tempura, and spicy tuna rolls. and they have recently starting advertising in the online coupon clipper - you can get 10% off your check or $10 gift card to use on your next visit if you spend $20 or more. this is my favorite sushi place! i wish i could go here everyday. read more

Had the "Kiss of Fire" sushi roll and pork fried rice. Both were very good and I would order again. My mate got the Double Dawn sushi roll and like it, but wasn't sure he'd order it again. I have eaten here at least 6 times in the last 10 months. The food is good. They are in a hurry to serve you and get you out. I usually talk with a friend for a while before ordering. The look on 2 different servers faces on several occ.s was one of impatience... And the service has much to be desired (often a bad attitude). And if you want anything but what is exactly on the menu as is such as being Gluten Intolerant they are not very good at helping you stay safe. As a matter of fact I would be very careful there. As far as take out goes ck the order before leaving. I ordered soup with shrimp and got chicken instead which I can not eat. When I mentioned it the next time I went they did not care nor offer another. York does not have many good restaurants. It's really a shame. read more

Their special rolls are great. I've enjoyed Transformer Roll, Spider Roll, Crazy Roll, Double Dragon Roll, Pink Lady, and Yellow Submarine. There's a varied lunch special from Monday-Saturday that includes a sushi or sashimi plate, or a bento box. Also splashed out and tried the Basil Chicken. Something for everyone here. read more

I don't know where this place got great reviews. We ordered a hot tea and water, never got a refill, it was not offered. It took forever to be waited on. The sushi was mushy and tasteless. The only thing that came quickly was our check. And we were not told to take it to the register or not. After it was delivered we were ignored. This is one place we won't come back to! read more

This is my go to fusion restaurant! My family and I eat here on average of 5-8 times a month and have never been disappointed! In addition to great food (their sushi is AMAZING), their service has always been on point. We have three small children and dine in with them and we've never received slack service because of it, it's usually the other way around. Highly recommend! read more

Attention people in York looking for a great place for Chinese! Don't be intimidated by "Neo" in the name or the sushi! This place serves up delicious Chinese food with a fresh and healthy flare. I ordered the chicken and string beans lunch twice in two weeks but they were out of string beans both times. They offered pea pods instead and I was happy to accept. The chef at this place really knows how to prepare a beautiful plate with bright, crispy vegetables. My lunch came with a refreshing light wonton soup which may disappoint you if you're expecting the usual heavy thick noodles with bright yellow salty broth. They have the best Asian food in the York area. If you're familiar with PF Changs and you like that, you will surely like this because it's close enough that i dare say that its on par with it. The sushi here is not good and is rather expensive. I am in town for work from houston and I thought the quality was terrible. The rice was chewy and not good quality. The portion sizes were also considerably small considering the price. I did have hot and sour soup because i thought that would be safe and It was actually quite good. I have eaten at many sushi restaurants in the USA. This place was recommended by friends in York, The menu was ok. I ordered a specialty sushi roll that didn't say "crab stick", ie fake crab. It came out and it had a hair across the center and fake crab for $14. They rolled there eyes at me and insisted that I eat the roll. Even after I told them I don't like fake crab and that it had a hair in it. Finally after this exchange they offered me another roll. I declined and won't return. read more

Just spent 45 minutes at Wild Ginger waiting for food that never came then when I asked about it I received a serious attitude so I told them I was leaving and they made me pay for our sodas!!! Really??!! I waited 45 minutes with 3 kids never received food and you will not let me leave without paying $8.48 for our sodas!! They did not care that I was leaving! I also observed the sushi guy touch many things (dirty doors etc...) with his "sanitary" gloves and continue to prepare food!! P.S. I have NEVER walked out of a place ever!!! P.S.S. The service was not good at all. The sushi presentation was below mediocre. One in our party ordered a dish which was supposed to include scallops, and it included exactly one. I was surprised to see another Japanese restaurant open so close to Ginmiya, which has been there for so many years and thought we would give it a try. We were seated quickly, which ended up being about the only positive experience we had for the duration of our meal. We were not acknowledged by our server for over 15 minutes; granted, there were only two servers, however the restaurant was not even at full capacity. We then waited another 5 minutes after ordering to receive cold drinks. The salads that the others dining with me ordered arrived about 15 minutes later, without my kani salad. I was offered a tossed salad instead, which I declined. Another 10 minutes later, I received the kani salad only to find out it was made with Old Bay seasoning. I have been eating Japanese food for many years in many places, but I have never once eaten Japanese food seasoned with Old Bay, it was awful. I declined the server's offer of yet another tossed salad and waited some more for our sushi. The sushi was tolerable but not what one would expect for the price. Unfortunately, the crab meat in the Spicy Pink Lady roll we got also had Old Bay which ruined perfectly good crab meat for a second time. The raw tuna in our Mango Roll tasted frozen, not fresh, which can be preferable depending on what kind of sushi you are used to. One of the people dining with me ordered a Chinese dish of mixed vegetables that was much more impressive than our sushi. Of course, it took another 15 minutes after finishing our meal to actually (grudgingly) pay. Overall, with so many other options for mediocre, yet tasty, sushi in York, I can't understand what would compel anyone to go to Wild Ginger. I am sorely disappointed after reading so many glowing reviews for this restaurant, but perhaps York is the perfect place to trick people into eating Old Bay in their sushi. read more

We now usually order carry-out from here regularly, it is more convenient with a toddler. This place is a hidden gem- it is never super busy when we pick-up or orders...the food is always fresh tasting and of good quality! I still have yet to have better sushi in York. Been here twice since Myoumi House closed. Spicy yellowtail roll and the Double Dawn roll were both fantastic, as was the spicy lady (with spicy crab instead of spicy tuna). The gyoza was very good. Will definitely be back. BYOB is always a plus. read more

I've been to wild ginger before and AM usually pleased with everything however the past few times that I've gone I've had trouble. Since my roommate and myself are on diet for the new year I asked for the nutrition information for what I have just ordered, unfortunately they could not provide me with that and the waiter that I asked walk directly to the sushi chef pointed at me made a comment and they both laughed. Very bad manners. As far as I recall nutritional information is required if it is requested . Also the last few times that we have gone something for my order was messed up. We have ordered the sushi and sashimi deluxe and we're missing a minimum of 5 pieces . Like I said before I usually enjoy going there because the food is good however now I feel uncomfortable going in knowing that I was made fun of the last time . Thank goodness for the Daily Buzz! That's how I found out about Wild Ginger. The food was fresh, colorful, beautifully presented, and tasty. We started off with Roti Canai as our appetizer--a thin flatbread typically found in Malaysia, served with a curry sauce. I ordered Mango Chicken, which was a visual delight with its multitude of bright, fresh colors. The chicken, mango slivers, red and green peppers, and red onions were served nestled in mango shell halves. The flavors blended together magnificently. My partner had the Happy Family, which is a combination of jumbo shrimp, pork, scallops, beef, and chicken sauteed with fresh vegetables in a light brown sauce. He thought the flavors could be kicked up a bit, but overall he was happy with his selection. The ambiance of the restaurant is warm and inviting, with its dim lighting, spacious layout, and simple yet modern decor. The menu is massive, so I suggest checking it out online first. The waitress rushed us a bit, but was friendly, observant, and of good cheer. Give Wild Ginger a try. Its mix of Japanese and Asian cuisine is a welcome addition to the east end of town. read more

I was surprised they charged 2$ for hot tea, normally that's free in Asian restaurants. The Mongolian beef was great, although portion was small.
