The fish itself was beautiful and one of the apps was delicious, unfortunately that's where the good review ends. Bad server that seemed burdened to be serving us. The sushi rice was dry and I couldn't taste even the slightest bit of vinegar. The rice fell apart when when picked up. The Wasabi was fake green powder instead if fresh horseradish. The ginger had dried out pieces and they were huge slices, not good for sushi and sashimi. I was very disappointed. My mother was pleased with her two specialty rolls, but the rest was mediocre at best. My mother only ate about half her food, so we asked for it to be packed to go. The server walked by and dropped off a togo container expecting my handicapped mother who only has use of one arm to pack her own food. I had to do it for her obviously. We won't be back, extremely overpriced for the quality and bad service. I am usually not a fan of curry but decided to give another try and boy am I glad I did! The food was out in a timely manner and service was wonderful. The food here was okay. I had broccoli with tofu with brown rice. The broccoli was really good and it did taste fresh and it still had a crunch to it. The Lo Mein is rich and sumptuous. Had the Szechuan Peppercorn also. I'm not big on spicy foods but this was only mildly spicy with crisp vegetables. Loved the addition of jicama. I really enjoyed our visit here. I was at first deterred because it is in a strip mall. I don't know why though. Some of my favorite sushi places have been in strip malls. The interior was very nice and pretty spacious. The service was very good. Our waitress was very friendly and offered suggestions. They also has a nice dinner for two combo that I wish we tried. I was dumb and didn't notice it until after we ordered. I enjoyed everything we ordered. It was pretty comparable to other sushi places I have been to and it wasn't super pricy. It was about 30 for my husband and I. My only complaint was that the spicy tuna could have been a bit spicier. I didn't mind too much since I love wasabi. I am excited to come back here again since the service was good and the price was right. There was a decent selection on the menu and I would like to try different things next time. read more

I've been here about ten times now and every time the service has been amazing. I always have my two little boys with me and the waiter and owner both go above and beyond for them. The waiter always brings things before I even have to ask, like plastic forks and extra plates for the boys. I'm big on service so this is a big deal to me. The food has been great every time and the lunch specials are well priced. They Also have happy hour with some great sushi prices. The portions are a good size and they were flexible with substitutions when we were there. The place is very clean and it's not loud at all. Which might make you think it's not a good place for kids, but in my opinion it's great for my kids. The staff is great with kids, they don't stick you in a corner if you go in with kids, the tables are covered with paper on top of the tablecloth, and when I started to clean up the mess on the floor the staff wouldn't let me. This is definitely one of my favorite places in the area. I'm not sure what the kids menu is like or if they even have one bc my kids eat sushi or split the garlic chicken. Even if you're on the fence or you don't like the shopping center location, it's worth a try! read more

I am always wary of any restaurant that labels itself as "Asian fusion". In my experience, that typically means generic, mediocre food cooked to please the masses. Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised by Wild Ginger. The entrees here are creative, well-presented, and most importantly, delicious! I got the scallops with mild mango sauce. The sauce was sweet and spicy while still remaining light. They did not skimp the portions - there were several scallops in my dish and they were big! My friends got the thin sliced flank steak and wok glazed ginger scallop entrees. I tried both and they were good as well. We all agreed the dishes had more of an authentic taste than most Chinese restaurants in the area. I did not try the sushi but it seemed to be hit or miss with everyone. It looked decent but portion sizes were inconsistent. Some rolls looked very small. I'll have to come back to give it my full assessment. Service was good. They were friendly and attentive. I had a birthday cake I wanted to come out at the end of the meal and they were very accommodating with that. We also forgot to print off the 20% coupon from the website and they adjusted our bill even after already running our credit cards through. Nice! read more

I've now been back twice to enjoy the sushi bar here at this Japanese restaurant on Hilliard and if the sushi hadn't been good there wouldn't have been a second time for me. Today I was there around 8:30 on a weeknight so it was quiet at this upscale Japanese eatery but the owner was there by the door again to greet me and make me feel welcome. Tonight he told me it was "time to relax" and that is just what you can do at this urban style fusion bistro. The potstickers (must order pan-fried) have a thin tender dough, that I prefer to the often gummy doughs elsewhere are served crisped-up on the pan side and were hot and delicious with their sweet dipping sauce. The sushi tonight like the very fresh tuna, salmon and yellowtail were delicious and beautifully presented by the chef. My favorite tonight was the unagi which is served cooked and slightly crispy topped with their sweet sauce that makes it a great introduction to sushi for those who are new to it. Don't let the mall location stop you, get in here, meet the owner and his very nice staff and try some delicious Japanese food. read more

I had seaweed salad with mango on a bed of lettuce with a wonderful ginger dressing. Marvelous! Since it was late I only ordered the Wild Ginger roll and a California roll. Again Marvelous. The Wild Ginger roll was a combination of shrimp, salmon and roe in an extraordinary presentation. Loved it! Next time I'm going for the Chilean Sea Bass dinner! I'll be back! read more

Wild Ginger is an Asian Fusion place in a strip mall in Hilliard, but don't let that fool you - both the interior and the service are quite nice. The prices are more along the lines of what you'd find in a strip mall, though, so the ambiance doesn't break the bank. I tried a lunch special - the Szechuan Peppercorn - and found it good, but not great. The first dish for lunch - a iceberg lettuce salad - was surprisingly good despite the iceberg lettuce thanks to an absolutely stellar salad dressing that I wish I could purchase for use at home. The Szechuan Peppercorn itself was just okay - it wasn't particularly spicy or delicious, but did hit the spot for what I wanted. The brown rice was way too wet and mushy, though - it just wasn't made right. I'd return, albeit tentatively. read more

I grew up in Asia and am therefore at least some what well versed in sushi. I've eaten the sushi here roughly 12 times, each during my lunch break from work and each time it has been great! I usually get it to go, but have eaten here 2 or 3 times. When by myself, I've sat at the bar and the service has been quite prompt. I once came here with a coworker during lunch and the service was a bit slow. Additionally my coworkers dish was over priced for its quality but he did not get the sushi. I tried this place because it was close to my house. I ordered Pad Thai, the Wok Glazed Scallion Duck, and Spider Roll. The pad Thai was very plain that I had to add my own seasoning to m but the Duck was make it taste better . The duck and my roll was very good and flavorful. The service was fast and they were friendly. The place was clean and the decor was modern. The reason why I gave them a 4-star is because of my Pad Thai. The sushi seemed fresh, staff were attentive and friendly. Others got sushi and hot meals. Everyone seemed to like what they got.
