    House Salad
    Adam G.

Wild Ginger is one of the better rated Asian restaurants on the west side of Columbus, so we gave it a try for lunch when we were in the area. They have a huge menu, including lunch specials from 11am-3pm Monday through Saturday. I tried the lunch portion of the wok-glazed ginger sauce with chicken. Lunch specials come with miso soup or salad and white or brown rice, so I went with the house salad and brown rice with mine. My SO got the wonton soup and the two roll special for $15, electing to try the crunchy California and shrimp tempura rolls. The food was ready quickly, and the portions were much bigger than I'd expect for the typical lunch entree. My wok-glazed ginger chicken was alright, and loaded with vegetables. In hindsight, I would've tried a different sauce. My SO really enjoyed the wonton soup and sushi though, so I'm splitting the difference and giving Wild Ginger 4 stars.

Came back for dinner the other. And it was crowded but we got seated within 10 minutes. I love their shrimp tempura roll and I also got their pad Thai. It was so flavorful and the portion was very big!

This was a disappointing outing. Food did not live up to expectations at all. House salads were drowning in dressing. Sushi did not taste very fresh. Both Sichuan and Kung Pao chicken entrees had rubbery, flavorless chicken. Fried rice was also very bland. Maybe it was an off night, but would not be back to find out.

Everyone enjoyed their different entrees & apps of spring rolls & edamame. Everything was fresh and tasty, but sauces can overwhelm main ingredients. Entrees include soup or salad with too much ginger dressing. Lots of sushi options. The service was great on a busy Saturday evening. All staff and manager were friendly and welcoming. Would come back.

    Fancy hostess stand.

My wife and I were slightly overwhelmed with the selection of restaurants to pick from in this part of Columbus while passing through on our drive to the west coast. After checking Yelp, we selected Wild Ginger for dinner and we're very happy we did. On the outside, it looks like any other restaurant in your typical strip shopping center but there is a vestibule you pass through to enter another world. The interior is very warm, refined and up scale. The folks working here are super friendly and it starts from the moment you pass through their doors. We got a comfortable booth across from their full service bar that I don't think was open to sit at. It was a convenient spot to stage the plethora of carry out orders they processed. Our server was awesome. She helped us navigate their extensive menu of several styles of Asian food. My wife ordered chicken Szechuan with white rice and I opted for beef Szechuan with fried rice. Our entrees came with choice of soup and we both picked Hot and Sour based on our server's suggestion. She was spot on as it was very delicious. We both polished it off. Our entrees showed up shortly thereafter. Both were served temperature hot and spicy hot. I'd recommend backing off a notch on the spiciness unless you like it really hot. It is kinda funny how we both started sweating as we were eating it. The rice was served in a side bowl to easily mix in and help tone it down. All in all we were very happy with our choice to dine here. Everything was great and I have no suggestions on anything to improve. The only thing I'd do differently is order one entree to share as the portions were very generous and we couldn't take any back to the hotel with us.

I highly recommend the yellowtail jalapeño. (not pictured here) The sushi taste fresh and it's tasty. The respectful and polite staff made my personal experience even better.

Incredible food, exceptional service! Flavors danced on my taste buds, and the staff treated me like royalty. Phenomenal experience!

From the outside it doesn't look like much; however once you go through the doors it's a whole other experience. Amazing service, drinks kept full without staff hovering. When we had questions about the food before we ordered our waiter was able to explain everything and then some. As to the food; very fresh and fast getting out to us (they weren't too busy when we were there). Quality wise was absolutely great. The won ton soup my wife had was a bit 'different' then our usual place but in a good way. The pineapple fried rice was delicious. They definitely don't skip on portions either.

Fukuryu is the first ramen place I've tried that lets you customize so many of my favorite extras--mushrooms, fish cakes, and egg. I'm glad I read previous reviews because they definitely deliver on the heat they promise. The only downside was that the pork wasn't as tender as the chashu I'm used to in ramen. That said, the rest of the ingredients and the noodles were well-prepared, with great flavor and texture. I would definitely order Fukuryu ramen again.

The servers were incredibly sweet and made the whole visit even better. They also have a happy hour menu with some great options at a discounted price, so it is definitely worth checking out. The waitress taking the orders for us asked the kitchen about the gluten free questions my mom and I had. I'm more there for the show as much as I am the food so we had it done on the table in front of us. I'm not celiac so I'm okay with some cross contamination. Our chef came out and recited our orders and went over the allergy changes and the gluten free request. He covered all of them great. Everything was separated from each other so the sauces didn't cross. He was as enthusiastic and friendly as you want your Hibachi chef to be. The portions were PLENTIFUL. You will not leave wanting more at the table. I know I didn't! I had plenty of leftovers to bring back to the house. Such a fun experience we all had at Ichiban. The staff was all attentive and accommodating. The lighting were dim around spots not occupied by guests. The music was not overwhelming to where you didn't hear the folks at your table. I prefer this set up where everyone gets their own pot instead of sharing with the table like some older hot pot styles. My only complaint is that the controls are not on top of the table so if get a smaller table then it's a little tight to change the temperature and you can knock the controller off the place where it's stuck by magnet. Not a big deal because the controller is movable and it's only an issue on a of couple tables. The quality is really good and most of the options are what you would see at other hot pot locations. There is a little more of a Chinese flair as far as sauces and particularly in the flavor of the kalbi. The bar is clean and well stocked which I appreciate. The items on the bar were not the same at each visit but each time fruit, dessert, seaweed salad, and kimchi were included. Most bbq places I've been to make you smell like the food you are cooking, but this place has great vents and I didn't smell like smoked meat at all! It was great. They have a nice selection of meats, and veggies! We opted to try their bbq + hot pot combo and for two people it was really difficult to finish all of our food. Unless you can eat a lot, be weary of ordering both since they do charge you $13 if you have a lot of food left over. I was not a big fan of the hot pot, but I think I ordered the wrong broth and didn't know what sauces to add to make it taste better. Their bbq was delicious and it was so fun to make sauces to dip our meats in before cooking. If you do go make sure you look up what sauces they have beforehand so you can have a better idea of what to expect and make concoctions that you will enjoy. Lastly we really enjoyed their strawberry lemonade and siji bubble tea! This place was not cheap but I would go back for a celebration with a larger group!
