A fairly good spot for Asian food that we visit when we're in the area. The staff is very nice and always attentive to us. It's large and beautiful restaurant with ample space so it's a really great spot for grabbing food with friends or loved ones. Parking is super easy because it's in the shopping complex. We usually grab Pad Thai and Chicken Lettuce Wrap. The Pineapple Fried Rice is not too bad but I'm not a fan of the shrimp paste used to make it. This was my first time visiting this Wild Ginger in Great Neck! I used to go to the location in Rockville Centre. The food was delicious and well prepared. The appetizers we ordered were Chicken Satay and Pan Fried Chicken Dumplings. The waiter was very attentive and provided excellent customer service. For my entree, I ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken. The pineapples were finely chopped in the food. I'm not used to that usually pineapple fried rice has chunks of pineapple in it. We were actually looking for a different place and accidentally found this one. The interior is clean and colorful. The bathroom was also clean, although they somehow managed to install the doorknob hardware upside-down. Service was a bit slow and uninterested in us. I went here on a weekday night with my grandparents and uncle. We have been going to this small local "chain" restaurant for a few years now and they have never disappointed. This restaurant is huge so big parties can be well accommodated. We got seated promptly and the host was very nice and happy to see us. We started off with edamame which was lightly salted and steamed to perfection. We all loved the edamame appetizer. I ordered the tamarind wok glazed chicken. I really enjoyed it. The meat was juicy and tender and the sauce lifted up the chicken flavor. Only thing I wished for was a touch of spice to cut some of the sweetness of the sauce. My family liked what they had to order which were the duck tacos, and the wok steak. We had matcha ice cream for dessert that I thoroughly enjoyed. They do a better job than I can ever do mixing that drink. I had the Hot and Sour Soup, which is vegetarian. Then I had the Grilled Miso Sea Scallops, which I loved (I am a pescatarian. I do eat fish but never meat or poultry.). My wife, a carnivore, had Wonton Soup, followed by the Crispy Chicken and Shrimp with Honey Walnut. Everything was great. Went to Wild Ginger with some coworkers for lunch on a Friday. I had been to other locations of this chain, and they pretty much serve Americanized versions of basically every type of Asian food. Lunch specials run about $10, which may be common to the NYC area, I'm not sure. I ordered the Singapore noodles, which resembled Singapore mei fun, and requested that they make it spicy. It wasn't spicy, but it was decent, if not a bit oily. I ran in for a small take out order. The man who helped me was super friendly and accommodating. I got the Tom Yam Shrimp soup. I asked if it could be done "mild" he said yes. No problem. I asked for a spicy tuna roll but earlier I had asked if there were any rolls with mango on the menu. They only had one option and I was not interested in it. So, when I ordered the spicy tuna roll he suggested that I add the mango for a $1 and I did. It was yummy! The soup was too. My only complaint was that it only had one shrimp! It was a really big shrimp, but I would've like more. There were tables set up for outside and the place is really big inside. I used the bathroom while I waited for my to go order. It was clean. Ordered online through their website for a pickup order. It was very pricy. When I looked at the receipt the price of the actual dishes were ~ $20 less than what I ended up paying. Was told after the fact that online orders were fulfilled through Eat Street and they charge what they want. I felt very misled. The restursnts website did not tell you it was a different company filling the order or that there was an upcharge per dish. On top of it all there was a hidden service fee charged by Eat Street that showed up on top of the upcharge. Super annoyed and felt the whole situation was underhanded. Came here for some speciality rolls around 6pm today. I was surprised to see how busy this restaurant was and how many people were outdoor dining. I ordered the lobster tango roll and wild ginger roll. They also have really good soups and I recommend getting the Thai coconut chicken soup. Overall, I was very satisfied with the quality of the sushi and found the price to be quite reasonable for the quantity of the rolls as well. My wife and I are frequenters of this great Asian Fusion place. the food is exceptional, especially Pan Pan Noodles with shrimp and chicken. All the other dishes are quite delicious! Rashish is one of the best bar guys you will ever meet as well as John, the owner. Happy hour, of course, is 4-7 PM. However, our favorite day is "WEDNESDAYS", why do you ask? Drew Hill! who is he? An amazing, talented, and super friendly musician, who serenades us at the bar til 9 PM. I can not think of a song that he doesn't know as his repertoire of songs, stories, and even some jokes, are superb! His years of experience as a musician shows quite amazingly, as his hands glide and flow over his electronic keyboard with such finesse; rarely ever looking down at the keys. The crowd comes in after 6 PM (get there early if you want a seat at the bar or table). The ambiance and vibe are very cool and you will enjoy the place immensely, but again, Wednesdays for us, is the absolute best day of the week! Stopped in for dinner last night after a long , crazy day at work . As I was waiting for my dinner companion , I stepped up to the bar for a drink. . The bartender who was super friendly and nice , made me a refreshing mojito . I have been here before , it can be hit or miss , last night was pretty good , not great , but good . We ordered the pan seared tuna , which was on point . The vegetable dumplings , delicious ! Avacado salad was fresh yet couldv'e used a little more lettuce but yummy just the same . Topped it off with two sushi rolls . Spicy salmon and avocado . Those were okay , the salmon could've been a little spicier but I asked for them to bring me some hot chili sauce and that did the trick ! The decor is very pretty , especially the bar . Our waitress had a bit of an attitude but I killed her with kindness , then she seemed to loosen up a bit . All in all a good experience and a great spot to relax and have a fun , casual dinner . We came here in a large group for lunch the other day and thought it was a decent find. It's Asian fusion - a little Thai, Japanese (mostly sushi), and Chinese. However, I think their Thai dishes are the strongest. We sat down in a group and ordered off their lunch specials. Since we were in a hurry, the servers brought things out as they were ready. The first few dishes were spectacular. I ordered the mango chicken (divine, but a little spicy). My friend ordered the broccoli chicken. We were shocked at why this place would have been rated as 3.5 stars. Both of us clearly wanted to give them 5. After twenty more minutes, we saw where the low ratings were coming from. The staff forgot about the order of one of the guests and they brought out these spicy salmon sushi rolls for another that tasted like mush. Those would have both been 2 star reviews. Hence, our table averaged 3.5 across the board. While they have several excellent dishes, they do lack in consistency. Which is why I knocked the one star off. All in all, I cannot wait to come back here. But I would probably stick to a few select dishes. read more

This place used to be a family favorite for years, since the early 2000's. It seems like management changed (for the worst) some time in 2022 and quality has just gone downhill. It's in the little details that add up. The new table cloths are sticky and look very unappealing, the miso soup is not served with the traditional bowl and spoon, no servings tongs with any of the salads, flies in the restaurant, etc. The food is still pretty good, but I sense perhaps something might be off with that too when considering everything else. Sadly, we probably won't be coming back here much, if at all, until things can improve. read more
