Yesterday my grand daughter and I ordered food from "The Wild Elephant" to be delivered. She had eaten there before and since it is close to home I decided to try it. I ordered "Pad Thai with veggies" and "Pot Stickers" and one of the items my grand daughter ordered was a "Curry Soup with Chicken". The "Pot Stickers" were ok, the "Pad Thai with veggies" was terrible. It was bland, absolutely no flavor and very few veggies. The cost $19.00 ended up in the garbage. My grad daughter's soup had no chicken which as paid extra for. My grand daughter said she won't be going back there again and I woudln't recommend it. read more

I like getting the sour soup with my meal (lvl.3 spice!), with the Thai tea, the dishes are large but I recommend still ordering multiple dishes if your eating w/friends to try different things/have leftovers. I really like this place, especially since it is up the street! Their Vietnamese ice coffee is to die for, no lie. Portions are generous size. * First of all, be warned that when choosing the spice level 1-5, that 3 is VERY VERY hot. I like spicy food, but it was too much for me. Your first time, choose 1 to calibrate your heat level. They also accept a heat level of 0. They "should" tell you about heat, but may not, so ask. * I've had the vegetarian Pad Thai and mango sticky rice, both wonderfully delicious dishes. Nothing average about them! * Unfortunately, I did not like the pork belly which had chewy gristle and was not tender. My first visit to Wild Elephant and it won't be the last. Wonderful service. The young man explained the dishes to us with great patience. He explained how they will adjust the use of spice to your liking. I asked for a little sticky rice and also jasmine rice and it was plentiful. The sesame beef was delicious. It was tender and delightfully seasoned. I also tried the Thai iced tea and that was very refreshing. The owner is delightful, as well as her son. My wife and I recently came here for lunch after reading a few Facebook posts about this new restaurant opening up in the Sea Breeze area of Irondequoit. Service was fast, friendly and place was clean. Food came out looking and tasting great! We had ordered fresh shrimp spring rolls, crab rangoons, & satay - all delicious. We also had desert of pineapple creme brulee with mango and purple sweet sticky rice with mango. Both deserts hit the spot. A wonderful lunch at the beautiful Wild Elephant! Started with a cup of Vietnamese coffee while reviewing the menu. So full bodied and deliciously creamy! Kao Poon Gai for entree. The coconut curry sauce was great and made even better with the addition of chili oil suggested by our super attentive and friendly server! The portion was large enough to take home for another meal. Coconut and mango crème brûlée was perfection! The caramelized sugar, creamy custard and fresh mango combined so well. The atmosphere is very appealing. At my daughter's suggestion, we decided to try Wild Elephant to celebrate her birthday yesterday. None of our party of six had been there before, so it was a bit of a gamble. Jackpot!! We had a wonderful evening. The decor was very nice as we entered. The staff was very friendly and helpful guiding us through the menu choices. Everything we ordered, from appetizers to main courses to deserts, was wonderful. Every item was unique and sumptuous. It was all presented very nicely. We each raved about the items we ordered. Hence, there was a lot of sharing going on. We were all saying, "Wow! This is so good. You've got to try some of mine." Each main course item was very generous.
