The chorizo biscuits and gravy revolutionized how I approach gravy at home when I make it. The various eggs Benedict dishes are great and I always pick either Katie's tex mex one or the cali one, both are great representations and do the name well. Eggs were perfect, potatoes crispy, and muffin the perfect ending. The apple dish was the one thing I wasn't a fan of this time - far too middle American sweet, in my opinion, it needs far more apples (slightly less baked), far more crumble, and far less of the syrup and whipped cream. By the time I made it to Wild Eggs I'd had enough continental breakfast at the hotel and decided to go out. I got here almost as it opened, sat immediately as I was one of three people inside. My server was Selena, was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean! Got the elevated breakfast sandwich bacon avocado and a chipotle sauce on brioche bun, it was pillowy soft. I never set the sandwich back down. Bacon had a great crunch which it needed because it was a lot of softer ingredients. Those breakfast potatoes were crispy, delicious and seasoned to perfection. We were sesrching for a breakfast place and mi esposa found Wild Eggs. It's a clean, well lighted place with a creative and atractive menu. The food is very good, scratch breakfast cooking. My omelet was terrific, covered with mornay sauce. Surfer girl omelet was a hit, and the biscuits and crispy breakfast potatos were also notable. Food was ok according to my son. I opted to just have coffee and toast that time. Company was awesome as usual. Fourth time around was just about a week ago. I decided to go by myself. Had coffee and their country fried steak with over easy eggs. Service this time was decent. Server was nice and checked on me a couple of times. However, my over easy eggs were medium and poked/broken. Steak was hard and chewy, batter was soggy, gravy was raw and bland. Potatoes were undercooked. This is my fifth visit, my son's 2nd visit. I got the chilaquiles, he got the chicken & waffles. My son was so disappointed with his order that we had to switch plates. Waffles were soggy and chicken just didn't have the flavor plus a bit burnt and really just sad looking as you can see. The egg in my order was definitely not over easy as I had requested and Just doesn't look too appetizing. I guess it at least tastes better than my son's order but definitely lacks texture and pizazz. I ordered the coffee of the day as well and really you can't tell the difference between a black coffee with cream Except for the price. UPDATE: Three years ago, my husband and I tried the cuisine here, after hearing raves about it. We were sorely disappointed at what was being offered as breakfast. However, in the spirit of fairness, I thought perhaps we should give it one more try -- after all, everyone deserves a second chance, right? Well, I'm sad to say that today's experience was little improvement over our first experience three years ago. Keep in mind, that I never, ever, like posting less than positive reviews about any place in my beloved Lexington area. However, as a reviewer, I feel it my responsibility to post truthful reviews insofar as my own personal experience. Everyone's taste and preferences are different, of course, and my experience may not be yours, but as an Elite Yelp reviewer, I am saying, you have been advised of my experiences. As a disclaimer to this, my update, I will say that this meal was a delivery and not an eat in, and I customized the dish to not include the queso... not because I don't like queso, but because I was concerned that it might not be mild as some are. However, that choice alone should not have made the difference I'm about to describe. I ordered the potato head casserole. By all accounts it should have been delicious. It had every opportunity to be so. Touting baked sausage, onions, cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms topped by an egg made your choice, this dish contains all the ingredients I love in a breakfast... but it fell woefully short. It was dry, hard, and basically cold, and the egg was rubbery and without any flavor. The fact that there were a few bright spots in the flavor profile that said this dish had some potential at being delicious -- only made the dry, flat dish all the more disappointing. Fail. Again. I've eaten day old leftovers from Bob Evans tut I've warmed up and they have outshone this dish. The only saving Grace for the entire fiasco was the blueberry muffin. It looked dry, but was actually tasty and I enjoyed it. It was not, however, worth the almost 30.00 I spent on what was supposed to be a tasty breakfast. So while your experience may not be mine, proceed at your own risk as I have warned you twice now. I wish I could be proven wrong, but I have no desire to spend any more of my hard earned money to try again. read more
