Service: 6/10 service was good, nothing to write home about Ambiance: 7/10 fun dive bar vibes Food: 7/10 Crust: 7/10 they put parm between the dough and pan so it creates a great salty, crispy crust. Big fan. Mediterranean pizza 7/10: Zataar was a great salty, herbaceous bomb that complimented the creamy Tzatziki sauce, cucumber, tomatoes so well. I don't like cucumbers (I know I'm the worst) but the cucumbers were refreshing and add nice texture where the dough was softer in the center. All in all, Great slice of pizza. They know what they are doing. Only complaint was the center was a bit too doughy for my liking but very minor relative to the flavor.

With WIld Child Pizza, you don't need Pizza Week! You can have delicious pizza here each and every week. I really love "the Harissa" it is an amazing combination of flavors, and there isn't any PIzza Creation like that in Portland, that I've found. It has butternut squash, rose harissa, kale, leeks and mozzarella. I have been a vegetarian since June 2001, and it is one of my pet peeves, when the vegetarian option is "Vegetarian pizza" with olives, tomatoes, green bell peppers etc. But, I opt for different ingredients and flavors, and this one is so good! My ultimate secret- favorite part of the ensemble is the crust! The outside, corner pieces have this cheese baked onto the crust. It is so satisfying! And again, I haven't found anything else similar to this in Portland, and it is "Detroit Style" pizza, so plan on eating with a fork and knife on a plate! It is still manageable with your bare hands though! All of the times I have been there, I have ordered online first for whole pizzas, and it has worked really well. I just walk up to the window and it is ready for me. And, all their staff are. really friendly and nice. I was born in the early '80's so I like their design and ambiance. It is a fun reminder of the good ol' days! But, as far as sitting in a parlour space, this is not really the place for you. It is located in a prime area of Alberta, and they do have a hallway/sitting area but no tables with pitchers and video games. But, the pizza take-away brings those memories to life! Definitely check this place out!

Fabulous Detroit style pizza. We had it delivered to Vancouver and it arrived quickly and hot from Uber Eats. One with cheese and one with meat, mushrooms and onions! Definitely will be ordering again.

Wonderful addition to the Portland pizza scene. Detroit-style pies loaded with toppings on NE Alberta. We went with a couple of the basics: the pepperoni and the cheese. Both were packed with mozzarella, sprinkled with parmesan, and topped with Wild Child's tasty and slightly spicy marinara. Since the scoop of marinara is plopped on top of the cheese, one in our group spread it around their slice with a knife. However you choose to eat it, the pies had hefty amounts of toppings and delightfully chewy crusts -- fried golden brown on the bottom, nicely blackened on the edges where the overflow of cheese hit the sides of the pan. What we were most impressed with was the dough, a 72-hour fermented sourdough that approaches in taste a wedge of well-made focaccia. Delicious. Really impressive platform for the cheese and sauce. What more can you ask for? Great service. We'll be back.

One of the newest pizza shops in town and it did not disappoint! If you're craving a thick crust or detroit style pizza spot then you have to check out Wild Child on Alberta. Right across from Salt & Straw you can easily make a trip both for food & dessert. You won't be able to miss it with their colorful building design & artwork. We were looking to call ahead but the message directed us to just ordering on their website. We ordered and within 20 mins we had our pie ready to go. We ended up just doing a classic pepperoni to see if we liked it but the harissa was also calling our name. I loved that they serve slices. Slices will run you ~$7+ but it's basically two slices in a box/quarter of the box. A They are not a sit down place in the standard way you would think. But they do have benches lining their designed wall so you can easily grab and enjoy. Does make it challenging on a cold day so be prepared when you come. Staff here was friendly as well. As for the pizza it was suuuuper cheesy. We took it to go and heated it up a bit in the oven for optimal crunch and when we did the cheese was oozing off! They're also pretty generous with toppings. We accidentally ordered extra pepperoni on ours so made it slightly too salty but it was a nice balance with their harissa pizza that had a kick and not your standard flavor.

Slices are ginormous! Which helps with the price per slice. If you love Detroit style pizza, this is your place. Doughy, thick, and nicely crisped edges. Considering the slices are on the pricey side, I would venture out and try something other than a classic cheese or pepperoni.

Had the Maui wowi pizza and it lives up to the name! I normally don't like square pizza but this was damn good. I'd definitely come back here next time I visit Portland

I don't ever look for Detroit-style pizzas, they find me ;) We ordered to-go via online and requested a specific pick-up time which was respected promptly. As we walked up, our 2 pizzas were being packaged and waiting for us in the warmer. We ordered a Supreme and BBQ Chicken and equally good. I preferred the BBQ Chicken but both tasty and liked that crispiness on the crust and the oozy, cheesy goodness. I think I'm about to start a quest for more Detroit-style pizzas in PDX.

Portland has so many good pizza options we took to the streets to try places that were not our usual. What We Had: - Half/Half Maui Wowie & Pesto Chicken Ranch - Breadsticks Pros: - Detroit pizza is a great pizza brand - Employee was helpful in helping us pick - Pizza had a good chew to it - Good toppings - Extra breadsticks! Cons: - Take out only - Pizza seemed heavier than it needed to be (less airy) Overall: I would say on its own it's a good pizza. The Maui wowie has some heat to it. A bit more than I like but nothing to ding there. I think it was just fine given the other options. If I were on Alberta and wanted a slice this would be a good spot. I'll stay with my usuals for now and continue exploring.

This is what I love about oregon, pizza everywhere. So this place is not too far away from my dad's house so I decided to come in here for a slice. So the crust was probably my favorite part, everything else was pretty good. The toppings slid right off, but that is because it just got out of the oven and I'm a pretty impatient person when it comes to Pizza lol. Anyways I recommend just ordering a whole pizza LOL.

Meh .... Pizza was okay. I did not care for the sauce because it was really sweet yet there's some spicy kick to it too. It wasn't too cheesy and the crust wasn't memorable either. I'm a fan of Detroit style pizza but I won't be returning here.

It's a pretty solid place to try some Detroit style pizza. We ordered a slice of the pepperoni and Supreme. The spices are of pretty good size and will range between $6.75 - $7.50 a slice. Once you have ordered the slice, they will re-heat it and add some marinara sauce to it, which gives it the extra flavor. Out of the two, the supreme was my winner. The Sriracha ranch is a great dip to order on the side. Just be aware that there is no seating inside, and it's more of a take out spot. They have a counter along the edge where you can eat off from.

New York and Chicago are still trying to catch up. But we are in the Pacific Northwest, nowhere near Loui's Pizza or Buddy's Pizza (Detroit pizza staples). So many times, what tries to pass off as "Detroit style" falls miles short. Then came "Ranch" where I stood outside and screwed up enough courage to try yet another Detroit style pizza. The interior was small, one wall lined with tomato sauce cans, the menu was bolted to a wall. The smell took me back and that gave me some hope. The pizza arrived at the table, the wife and I have varied tastes so we each ordered a quarter pizza. Mine was pepperoni, the wife had a veggie. The pizzas looked right, square, caramelized crispy edges, heavy toppings... and then on the side of the plate was this cup of ranch dressing. Duh! "Ranch" obviously has to have a good ranch, right? I dipped my pinky finger in the ranch and took a taste. You would not think one ranch can be so far ahead of the others, but ranch is the place for ranch, as well as pizza. My first bite brought a smile to my face, it was just, right in every way that a Detroit pie should be. I have been back to try their #4 pie with sausage and ricotta, and I am looking forward to more trips. If all that was not enough, the service was friendly, the food came out so quick (about 10 minutes) and the place was nice and clean.
