Sizzle pie good. It's like a classic corner spot. On a sunny day the light comes in and you can sit down and enjoy the outdoor seating. Right across from Powell's books this location is awesome. It makes for a great Instagram story. The pizza flavors rotate, and you ordered the counter after you look at the menu/pizzas that they have for the day. Pizza comes out hot and fresh oh, and you can also order a whole pizza, If you call ahead, you won't have to wait! It's a good spot. I wouldn't say it's like blow your mind amazing but if you're in town and you want a reliable slice, sizzle is a good place to go.

$5 for a slice of pizza. It's tasty, it's cheap, and it's fun! I think a full pie would be a five stars. I got one of the two vegan slices. Mord'za: red sauce, vegan sausage, red onion, roasted whole garlic, follow your heart vegan mozzarella, calabrian chili, and basil. A really a delicious slice! I love the nutritional yeast shaker available as a little cheesy addition.

Look, you're not doing me a favor by existing and selling your garbage pizza. A couple Christmases ago I was on my own that day and y'all were running a buy one get one free special for any size. I bought two large to share with the homeless. Even THEY found your pizza too disgusting to eat. And me, who once thought I'd never meet a pizza I didn't like, one bite was all I needed to prove myself wrong. Now, years later and I'm craving pizza. I can't walk due to my fractured ankle, but my best friend, bless her heart, I asked her to go to Sizzle Pie because it's close by and I thought certainly, they can't still be making crummy pizza and serving it up with a haughty attitude. So they didn't have what I wanted, the staple, Margherita. Now it turns out that they stopped adding toppings to the cheese pizza to customize it. I always used to do that. But it has been years since I've set foot in there. My friend left. She got me a delicious slice from PIZZA KAT. No attitude just great Margherita pizza. Sizzle Pie, you're dead to me. 2025 - Review # 14

Eat pizza every day? Only if you promise it's Sizzle Pie! Very punk rock vibe, plenty of seating, and pie available by the slice. Sodas are Jones fountain drinks including apple! and orange cream! Yum! Pizza was crispy in the right places and flavorful slices! Food was out quickly and conversation with the team was great! Sizzle on.

Pretty solid pie. Display pizza looked dry so we opted for a 18" mushroom and sausage pizza. Fed four adults. Limited seating, but cozy spot bc most people were opting for to go orders. The parking situation was not great but to be expected at nighttime in Portland on a weekend.

I stopped in one night when I was visiting Portland, my previous dinner plans had gone to pot and I needed a quick bite. It was very good. The place had kinda a dive pizza joint vibe which was nice. The music wasn't what I'd normally listen to but it worked. I found myself getting into it. The staff were nice during my brief interactions with them, and the pizza was very good. I got two slices and a drink for I wanna say like $12. Not bad at all. The wait was reasonable too.

Just landed & was super hungry so decided to try this place. They had two different vegan options - cheese & some crazy topping which I picked. The pizza was served super hot, too hot for my opinion & I burned the post of my mouth. The pizza had a thin crust and lots of vegan cheese but were some sauce that made it pikante , I was not mad about it. Also the rock music is all good but it's uber loud. CC accepted

Service was amazing in here. Very helpful and friendly. Nice location by Powell's bookstore, which makes it really convenient after spending a few hours looking at books. We ordered a couple slices to dine in. A pepperoni, supreme style pizza, a vegan chicken bacon ranch style, and a vegan slice with tomato sauce and pesto. My husband loved his meat options, and I thought that the vegan ones needed a little more flavor... But still grateful they have the vegan/non-dairy options!! Crust was fantastic.

This area can be a challenge for a spot to park but I have to love the vibe, Smells great walking in and service was pretty fast. It was very meditative to see a guy just kneading the dough in the air - you never see that many places anymore since kitchens are in the back. This is a spot you can hang at for a slice or two or grab yourself a box to go for some TV action too.

Sizzle Pie still offers my favorite pizza in the city. I miss the Schuyler & East Burnside locations, but I'm very happy we still have the West Burnside & Hollywood locations available in my immediate area. I've been eating Sizzle Pie since I first arrived in Portland in 2012 & I can say their best pizzas are the best pizzas I've had. While the menu has shrunk along with the reduction in locations, I'll choose Sizzle Pie for a pizza before any other establishment. The New Maps Out of Hell is my very favorite pizza but I often customize my own as I've simply eaten so many of their regular menu standards that it's fun to experiment. The Rabbits salad is also my favorite salad in the city. Thank you for being badass, Sizzle Pie!

My new favorite for vegan pizza! They have quite a few vegan options but every time I order the Grazing Arizona - vegan "chicken" and "bakon". Their "bakon" was so good I had to make sure it was really vegan! I had my non vegan friends try it and they were impressed and said they wouldn't have known it was vegan. I also enjoyed the spiral tap for a simple option. The restaurant seems like a cool vibe but I've only ordered to go. I love my pizza at home in pj's HAHA! I've seen other reviews that say staff is unpleasant but in my experience, they're just really busy. Remember to stay kind, we are all doing our best. Sizzle Pie pizza is amazing!

Wow! I am so glad we stumbled in here after visiting Powell's Bookstore. We needed a place that my husband, me and my kiddos would all eat and boom! there was Sizzle Pie. The kids were boring and each got a slice of cheese (albeit very yummy slices of cheese) but my husband devoured his slice Napalm Breath and my Steve Cabarello was fantastic! I never get to eat vegan pizza- my slices are usually veggie or cheese so to get vegan meats and tofu cheese as toppings?! Amazing!! Great pizza.

Dank vegan za, real fast. Good drink combos for meals too. I go on my lunch right when they open so there generally are no lines and the pies are straight outta the oven.

He then proceeds to ask us about marijuana products on our person..... WAIT, WHAT? This is the Pacific Northwest, my guy. I've seen legit bongs on curbside picnic tables at other bars (Thunderbird on Foster). But this guy wants to peruse your bags trying to find weed. I lied to this securi-nerd, and waltz'd past him. I'm a grown adult, my legal toking is none of your business. Took awhile to get two basic beers. We were met with smiles by staff, but they didn't ask us if we wanted a drink or menu. Finally someone came over and took our drink order. This was a one and done place for us. It has this fake feeling of a PACNW dive bar. It didn't feel legit. It felt put on. Noticed a large table of locals wearing "OREGUNIAN" sweatshirts, and the vibe at this place is just way off. I felt like I was on the East coast--not the West coast. Again, who asks patrons if thy have weed on them with zero explanation? Every single music venue I've been to in Portland could not give less of a crap about your weed vape, so why does this pretend dive bar? What a weird, un-Portland like vibe. The ick is real.

On entering for lunch, the customer journey is unknown. We should not be an explorer without a map! In front of the stairs is a stand one would logically consult on seating. You would usually have a sign, which today should span languages, on seating. "Seat yourself" or see front-ofhouse person. But no, the stand in front of the stairs is not the front-ofhouse person. They are dedicated to providing utensils and napkins. How does a new arrival even know where the front-of-house person is? Restaurant 101. The front-of-house is behind the bar and not very attentive to new arrivers. New arrivers are your customers! That person is also the final bill person. By observation they seemed idle much of the time. Next, the upholstery of my seat was stained. Either clean it to invisibility or replace it. Any restaurant should check the condition of tables and chairs daily. At this level of restaurant, it is basic. We are not a dive. I was there for their loss leader crab sandwich special but ordered more, so I was not a loss leader customer. Bring a real napkin because a dish with small pieces will have small pieces fall out. The server from the kitchen brought small paper cocktail napkins. Instead I had to get a napkin and fork from the utensils and napkins cart myself. I guess, oddly, becoming familiar with where napkins were, thinking they were front-of-house, was useful in disguise! No refilling water. The dishes seem to be served by kitchen staffers. There was no checking on customer experience mid-meal or on billing. "Is/was everything OK?" Wow! I would have told them what I am writing. The menu was pretty standard today in items and price. I would say my sandwich was unnecessarily salted. I'm in favor of flavored by ingredients. I would say this is a fine hotel bar among many choices downtown. It is on the second floor, aside from the stains, pleasant, and there are public spaces in this hotel for meetups and meetings. But it needs a review of customer experience design, who does what, and the customer journey, stat. If Marriott is doing this nationally, they are failing. Good design is not expensive, it can operate at any price point. Maybe robots will improve things? None of the staffers should be blamed, it is design and management which are lacking.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

We came to Teardrop Cocktail Lounge while visiting Portland and were genuinely impressed…read more The cocktails were excellent -- thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
