The place is simple but clean. The chicken is very tasty, and the French fries and the Yuca are great with the Peruvian mayonnaise and the hot sauce. Most times their hot sauce is perfect, but sometimes it is just too salty. The Anticuchos are very well seasoned and they are delicious. They serve 4 sticks, and they come with roasted potatoes, hot sauce, mayo, and a piece of corn on the cob. I would have given one more star to Wild Chicken for their Anticuchos if it weren't for the fact that every time I eat them there, I get at least one of the pieces of meat with some muscle tissue. When Anticuchos are prepared properly, the meat is cleaned VERY thoroughly to make sure NO piece of muscle is left. They just have to make a better job at preparing the anticuchos. I have visited this place twice and both visits have been terrible. I would never visit this place again. The first time I visited was approximately 6 months ago. I ordered a whole rotisserie chicken with yucca. It was approximately $21.00. This is the most money I have spent on something that tastes so bad. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked couple days before and it had just sat under a heat lamp. The taste was terrible and it gave me an upset stomach. The yucca was half raw uncooked it was just terrible. Do yourself a favor and save your money, time and the upset stomach. Stay away. The second time I visited was today 12/07/2017. I wanted to make sure I gave this place a true chance because it could have been a bad cook or something. I guess I am a gluten for punishment. I ordered only sides this time because i did not want to take the chance with the chicken. I ordered sweet plantains, yucca, and french fries. I placed the order to go, so when I arrived at work to open my order I was disappointed all over again. The containers that each side came in was not even half full and the taste was terrible. Their portions size are terrible and so is their customer service. They charged me $3.00 for each side order so with tax i spent $13.20. Thumbs down to taste, portions, customer service. I love Peruvian chicken and this is one of my favorite places. My old stomping grounds was the location on Lee highway during undergrad. The white meat is moist and flavorful. And the sauces are my favorite! The bathrooms are clean which is a big plus for me. Everything tasted fresh and service was good. The only qualm I had is that I didn't feel like they were generous with the yucca. I ordered a whole chicken combo, and I maybe got 15 pieces. I'm used to getting a mountain of yucca at other places. Was kind of wary of trying this place but it is close to home and we had a craving for Peruvian chicken. Got a whole chicken combo that comes with salad and yucca (we requested a substitution). Between two adults we ate 3/4 of the chicken and all of the yucca. The yucca was a bit hard and not all that. Salad is pretty basic. The chicken was pretty moist and tasted good. Great chicken! Our chicken was tender, really juicy, and smothered in delicious seasoning. It was slow when we went in for lunch, so I was worried that our food would be dried out from sitting around, but it was delicious. The only minor criticism I had was that the yucca fries could have used another minute or two in the fryer, they weren't as crispy on the outside as I like, and the inside hadn't gotten that nice fluffiness from the cooking. For our family of 5, I usually buy 2 full chickens, which they cut into quarters for $30. It's not Super Pollo, mainly in the sense that the sides offered with chicken quarters are severely limited -- you get iceberg salad, and yucca-or-fries. That's it. That's what you get. But the chicken and sauces are always tasty. The salad dressing is nice and tangy. The service is pleasant and quick. Once in a while, the yucca is stale, but usually it's freshly fried. The plantains are not to my liking. They're barely ripe. But the CHURROS. OH MY GOD THE CHURROS. I just got one here for the first time last week, after coming here for chicken countless times. I love small Peruvian chicken places like this. Wild chicken is hidden behind Total Wine and isn't fancy - but that's a sign that the food is good. I got the chicken sandwich and yucca. Both were great and I enjoyed the mild and spicy sauces. The mild had more mayo than the spicy. Definitely a new go-to for me. read more

Being a well seasoned traveler to Peru, married to a peruvian and eating at a lot of different Peruvian Chicken places, this one is definately a good one. When my family is in town, I come here and order takeout and it's always a winner amongst them. The chicken is great, salchi papas are awesome and the anticuchos are nice treat. The owner and staff are very friendly and they try really hard to keep you informed if they happen to be busy. Don't forget to order Alfahores for dessert (You won't be disappointed!) and some Inka Cola to make it a true peruvian experience! I strongly recommend coming here. read more

Peruvian chicken! -mmm Moist chicken with fresh yuka! I have been here twice and this place is quick and easy. I'm always on the run going from work to school almost everyday so I like quick and easy....without having to go to fast food places like Mcdonalds, or Wendys. I'm not a fan of fast food like that..I'm a fan of fast good food. This place has your typical whole, half, and quarter sized pieces and when I ordered a quarter...it was the size of a half. These people are generous with their portions and sides, which I love! The meat is juicy and hot and everyone is very friendly. They have a selection of Mexican drinks and I love the coconut drink, sweet and coconutty. I eat Wild Chicken quite a bit... I do have to say it's gotten a bit better. I find that the chicken has too much seasoning. It could do with less. Their yuca is fried to perfection in clean oil. We also tried the Anticucho which was about 2 stars: spicy still no taste and excessively expensive: $13.50 for some meat and two very thin slices of corn and potato. I always get the whole chicken combo, which comes with a chicken cut into 4 pieces, 2 side salads, fries, and dipping sauce. The chicken is always decent as well as the salad. The fries can be hit or miss, on good days they're hot and crispy but on other days (like the most recent time I went) they turned out to be super soggy and not as crisp as I would have loved them to be. If I could give this place no stars I would, it doesn't even deserve a star. This place is terrible! I would advise nobody to eat here. I ordered a steak and it was so dry I couldn't eat it. I asked the cook if he could make me another one and I've never been so disrespected by an employee at a restaurant. He said "no you eat it!" I was calm the whole time but the guy kept going at it. I asked for my money back he wouldn't give it back. He said "you bought it, eat it" cursed at me and everything. Finally a lady from the back came out and told me to never return and gave me my money. Wild Chicken is a hidden gem in Northern Virginia. A bit hard to find, but definitely worth a visit! The yucca is some of the best I've ever had. They will actually give you as many extra sauces if you request them (be prepared to pay for them, though. However I think all pollo places now make you pay for extra sauces). Great chicken, reminiscent of Pollo Rico, but not quite there. A reviewer mentioned electric roasters, which is true, but there is charcoal burning in the bottom of them ...and the smokey flavor testifies to it.
