I stopped here for a quick and early lunch one day and was glad I did. I ordered a Sir Melvin, which is a turkey avocado sandwich with shredded lettuce, tomato, red onion, pepperoncinis, Italian dressing, mayo, and dijon mustard on brown bread with a sliced pickle on the side. It was really tasty! The ingredients were fresh and well prepared. The restaurant has a very nice and casual back courtyard to sit at to enjoy your meal. I almost missed it and was originally tempted to sit in front near the counter instead. The staff are amazingly friendly. The restaurant is a little hidden and the signage could be perhaps better --- the food and ambiance are so nice and the people who work here so pleasant it would be disappointing if people accidentally missed it because the signage was too small. Skimpy mondays:( I was sad when I came in today my sandwich was so much less filling than when i came in on Friday.... Such fun little spot. Its a little difficult to find the sign but its the place in the corner. There is sitting up front by the road, inside (very minimal) and in the back patio. We tried different sandwiches. I had the tuna melt which was pretty delicious. My niece had the turkey with Avocado and she didn't think it was the best but she liked it. My nephew had the PB&J and he enjoyed it. The best part is we got to play some board games while we waited for our food. And overall had an enjoyable time. Totally recommend this spot. read more

Arrived around noon and opted for the tuna and Italian sandwiches. The order took approximately 20 minutes. While there's a modest patio with limited seating, the spacious rear patio offers ample seating. The staff was hospitable, and the establishment boasts an impressive array of alcoholic beverages. The sandwiches were expertly crafted and meticulously wrapped, although the bread, while not my favorite, didn't detract from the overall deliciousness. We are in Laguna to visit our son and needed an easy lunch place. I quickly hop on Yelp and find the perfect spot. It's a cute sandwich place with tables outside but don't miss the back patio. We watched the end of a football game while finishing our sandwiches. Speaking of sandwiches! The bread is amazing. I had the spicy tuna served on their Dutch crunch roll with pepper jack cheese. lettuce, tomato, and red onions. You can get this sandwich as a Panini but I went the traditional route. My husband had the Laguna Italian and added a bit of mayo because he likes his sandwiches a bit more saucy. I love this area of Laguna because it not as crazy as the center of downtown but it's still that old school Laguna that I remember growing up. read more

Shocking experience at Wigz, analogous to Great White Melrose in Hollywood as of date stamp -- the staff openly ignores Asian customers while greeting others with smiles and eye contact. Wow- may have just had one of the best sandwiches in my life. Visiting Laguna for the day and we heard good things about this place, so we got some subs for the beach. There wasn't a line when we placed our order and our food came out in under 10 minutes. I got the turkey bacon avocado on their Dutch crunch bread which was AMAZING. The bread tasted super fresh and the sub was very filling like an ~8 inch sub I believe. Docking a star because there was barely any bacon on the turkey bacon avocado sammy, I thought they forgot it but there was only 1 piece of bacon, and because my friend asked for no veggies on her sandwich just meat, cheese, mayo and they still added all the veggies. We should've double checked it before leaving, but in the future I would double check your sub before leaving if you have any modifications. No gluten free bread. It's 2025 and we live in Orange County, I feel like they should offer a gf wrap or bread option for people with allergies. I called and they have no plans on offering GF bread so hoping this gets to the owner. If jersey mikes, board and brew, fire house subs and Mr.pickles can offer a GF option that's not a salad, I know Wigz can too. Very disappointed read more

Adding another 5 star review to this great place, as I have a husband who spent years in hospitality, and used to receive threats of 1 star reviews from other customers who would use it as a power play. I saw a recent 1 star review due to lack of gluten free bread. The owner has a very thoughtful reason about this + they offer salads for folks like my husband who are gluten free (minor allergy and can handle cross contamination). We are going to Wigz this weekend because the place is simply too good for anyone, GF or not, to give a miss. Your tuna and pastrami options are to die for. Best sandwiches I've had in years. Already salivating at the thought of coming back! Keep fighting the good fight against the yelp haters and know the rest of the laguna community loves you! read more

Solid sandwich shop. Just tried them today on a trip to laguna. Got 3 sandwiches all were pretty solid. It's great to have a new deli option close to the beach as you can have sandwiches on the beach. The service was fast (ready in under 12 minutes). Didn't sit inside but it looked very clean and had outside seating as well. Good overall vibe. Would go again. read more

I write this with mixed feelings. On the one hand, I want local businesses to succeed. On the other, if the general public knew just how good this place is, I would never get a seat again. Okay, for the logistics. It's located near Rumari and Spigot Liquor, both quality establishments. I mention this because the signage is pretty minimal for now. There is seating in the front as well as the back. The front has an ocean view; the back is lovely and quiet. You do you. It's fast casual, meaning you order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. The staff is very friendly. There is a nice selection of sandwiches. I keep meaning to try all of them, but due to repeatedly ordering my favorite ones, I have not made it through the menu. Their bread comes from a local artisan bakery. If I had a quibble, it would be the minimal selection of sides. However, if you like gourmet chips, coleslaw or pasta salad, then you won't have a problem. They have beer and hard kombucha in addition to the usual drinks. read more

Wow this place was good! After being at the beach I decided to come here after reading the glowing reviews and it did not disappoint. The woman who took my order and then brought it to my table was super sweet. I tried the Italian sandwich and bacon and turkey avocado sandwich. Both really flavorful and high quality! Came here today, had quite terrible service. Came with my boyfriend who was standing right next to me while I was ordering. I got the turkey bacon avocado, had two chips on the counter and the woman taking my order didn't ask for my boyfriend's order. After she took mine, she rang up the chips and immediately asked if it was for here or to go. I was confused because she didn't ask if we wanted anything else, as well as asking my boyfriend if he wanted anything. I said "to go" then she asked for my name. I gave her my name and she told me my total. I then told her we weren't done ordering and she seemed confused. She said "I don't know what you mean by that?" We then said we want to order another sandwich. She seemed bothered that we asked her to add another sandwich. I was just thrown off that she didn't put two and two together. There were two people, two bags of chips, so why would we only order one sandwich? Just strange. We waited a while for our food to come out and when it finally did, the man who had our bag threw it on the counter right next to where we were standing instead of handing it to us. That was weird as well. As for the food, my boyfriend's sandwich the Laguna Italian was honestly average, it was dry, needed mayo, more dressing, and cheese for sure. Their sandwiches are so good! My dad has been a regular at this sandwich joint and I finally got a chance to try it to see what the hype was about. I got the veggie on sqaw and added roast beef to it. I loved variety of the vegetables in my sandwich, especially the sprouts! One thing I wish the staff could change is wearing gloves while preparing the delicious sandwiches. I want to try more items on their menu next time. read more

Wonderful sandwich shop; spot on flavors of what you expect. No hidden ingredients, but straightforward deliciousness. Laguna Italian and turkey bacon avocado were amazing! A grand selection of craft and local brews on draft and canned to go, was so immense it took me a few minutes to go through. A real hidden gem/locals spot in Laguna that is right now not too crazy busy. You wouldn't know it from the street, but this place has a really great back patio away from the hustle and bustle of PCH. I happened across their opening week after dropping of my son at Cho's Academy (another 5 star Laguna establishment) and it's quickly become a favorite. Solid sandwiches, big portions and some pretty unique combinations. The happy hour has to be one of the better deals in Laguna and the humus plate is awesome. They serve it with little sliced toast and they don't last long at our table. Really only improvement would be better salsa with their chips & salsa - it's more like a pico de gallo. read more

My favorite place to eat a casual meal in Laguna Beach. I have had most of the items on the menu and love them all. The bread is amazing - Dutch crunch or the squaw are my favorites. This time, I wanted to purchase 12 muffins, four for each of my three kids. The same staff member seemed visibly annoyed by my order and repeatedly asked another employee how many muffins were left. I simply explained that my children really enjoy them, but her attitude made me feel uncomfortable for purchasing that quantity. We live here in Laguna, and it's disappointing to have an experience like this at a local business. I completely understand that bakeries get busy and that certain items may sell out, but kindness and courtesy go a long way. I hope Zinc takes this feedback to heart because a little warmth and better customer service can make such a difference in how customers feel when they walk through the door.
