In keeping with what appears to be an annual tradition, today is May 23, 2025, and I just picked up my most valued pet, Shyla, from Wiggly Tails and although I missed her terribly, I know she's in great, loving hands at Wiggly Tails! It's a wonderful place for dogs! You can see that everyone who works there loves dogs and really cares about them. I have been taking Shyla here for day care for several years, and I board her there when necessary. I wouldn't trust Shyla to anyone else! The place is HUGE and very clean. There are several different areas of play, both inside and outside, and a few different types of sleeping areas for overnight guests. When you board your dog you get a report card, letting you know everything you'd want to know about your dog's stay! Plus they have webcams all over the place, but I don't use them anymore. I know Shyla is in loving care, safe and happy! Wiggly Tails is where you want your dog to be! (And this is about the 3rd review I've given them in the past four years! The wonderful people who work there have become our family! And it's Shyla's second home!) read more

I'm sharing my very bad experience with Wiggly Tails Dog Daycare in Northbrook in hopes no one will make the same mistake I did. I will not be going back to Wiggly Tails after a second, and this time horrific, biting incident resulting in severe injuries to my dog, the defenseless, kind and loyal Bailey. I apologize for sharing these horrific pictures, but I do not want any other unsuspecting owners to land themselves in the position that my dog and I are in. The photos are after my dog was cleaned up. It was much worse, looking infected. I'm heartbroken and mentally exhausted. I gave them a second chance the first time and I was assured it wouldn't happen again. The first time, I didn't post anything and I was asked to give them a second chance. I'm not sure why they neglected my dog to allow it to happen. There should have been some supervision to avoid this. The facility refuses to share surveillance tapes of the injuries. I gave them an opportunity for explanation and was told "We can't guarantee this won't happen again". Why not? Is Wiggly Tails staff extensively trained? Is the staff trained to handle emergencies? How do they organize dogs? by size or by play style? Are "dangerous" or aggressive dogs allowed in group play? Do they let the dogs do what they want until a fight breaks out? Is the facility more concerned with revenue than safety? Doggy daycare places will tell you that they watch the dogs and stop inappropriate behavior from happening but in most cases it's either a lie or they don't intervene until it's escalated too far. Wiggly Tails were negligent in their duty of care which led to my dog getting bitten and severely injured. There is no excuse for my poor little dog to suffer like this! My poor family has to deal with the trauma of an injured dog due to an irresponsible daycare business! Irresponsible decisions were made that lead to Bailey's injuries, and I would not want this to happen to any other pet or pet parent. Please, if you are considering a dog care facility, do not take your beloved pup to Wiggly Tails. I wanted to share my story in hopes that others who see this post will share it, and perhaps other pet parents will think twice about using Wiggly Tails. read more

We have been taking our dog Scooby to Wiggly Tails for years and we love it. Maybe more importantly, Scooby loves it. We have done both daycare and overnight and have been really happy with both. The staff genuinely care about the dogs and they go out of their way to be helpful and flexible. We could not recommend Wiggly Tails more highly. read more

We've been bringing our two small dogs to Wiggly Tails for eight years for week-long overnight stays. In the past we've been thrilled by their service; it's a wonderful facility! We planned to board our dogs again later this year, and since it had been two years since we last boarded them, they asked us to bring our dogs in for a few hours of temperament evaluation. We dropped our dogs off yesterday for that few hours of evaluation, and alas, within 10 minutes of dropping them off the Wiggly Tails owner called and told us to come back and get our dogs. He said that our Jack Russell mix had become aggressive when they tried to remove his leash (his leash is a little tricky to remove, which in retrospect we should have advised them of). What we didn't appreciate was the owner's unwillingness to discuss the issue. Yes, our Jack Russell mix becomes aggressive when a stranger sticks their hands in his face, but he's always been that way and in the past the Wiggly Tails staff always found their way into his confidence, and he's never bitten anyone, but the owner was adamant: come get your dogs. We retrieved our dogs feeling that Wiggly Tails no longer wants or needs our business. read more

Otis really likes coming here for daycare so I thought we would give boarding a try. He came back injury free and fine but a few things that I would've liked to be better. *The webcams are a bit spotty and don't show that much. *I never got a confirmation email for his boarding or directions. I called myself a few times to check and ask questions but my sister got emails when she reserved boarding for her dog. *The website says that I would get an email every night with a report card on his health and activities and I never did. I did email them myself with questions got quick responses. -I called ahead to see if the standard suite would fit his sized bed, they said it would, but when I get there it was too big so I paid the extra $10 a night to upgrade to the private suite. When I picked him up, there were long white hairs all over the top of his bed. (He's a brown doodle mix and does not shed). When I pointed it out asking, "oh where did these hairs come from?" They said that with a lot of dogs there are sometimes a lot of hair. This makes me wonder how private the suite was or if they didn't clean well, which would be confusing because the hairs were on the top of the bed. It also smelled terribly, maybe pee which would be surprising if he had an accident or maybe like he laid in it over several days of being wet from playing. The smell passed down to the foam so had to throw it away. I don't recommend bringing a bed that is foam filled. -I paid $10 for some extra cuddle time but have no idea if he actually got it. Not sure what I was expecting, but maybe a photo or something? -I left peanut butter kongs for afternoon crate time and I should have left a container instead because when I picked up everything, one was covered in mold. I'm very glad they didn't give it to him, but maybe a quick message or letting me know when I picked him up would've been good. Overall it was fine, the staff were quick to respond to my emails and are very nice. They do seem to be pretty busy with quite a few dogs. Otis seemed safe, didn't come home injured and enjoyed the playtime. read more

My dog Bella loves going to Wiggly Tails. She plays and runs around all day and has a nap time so she can relax midday. She's excited when I drop her off and happy and exhausted when I pick her up. Recently she boarded there for the weekend and I received daily reports, which was comforting and helpful. They are very personable and the caregivers clearly love dogs. They have a webcam so you can observe your dog playing and if your dog is in a suite you can watch her on camera. I trust them and I highly recommend wiggly Tails! read more

After moving to the suburbs six years ago, we were concerned our dog would miss his daily dog walker. At the time, he also did not love going to the dog daycare in the city; he would always get very anxious and wanted to leave. Boarding was also not an option back then. In a pinch, we found Wiggly Tails through reviews and cautiously decided to give it a try. After passing his behavioral assessment (phew!), our dog started going to daycare, and eventually, boarding as well. He LOVED it. Every time we started driving in that direction, he would start whimpering in the car with excitement. Now that my husband and I are working from home more often, we have limited our dog's visit to Wiggly Tails. However, we just took him back for the first time in a few months and he was literally jumping out of the car with excitement! Based on the complete 180 in his behavior at Wiggly Tails v. the daycare in the city, it's clear that there's something special about Wiggly Tails and the folks that take such great care of all of the pups! read more

I've the past two years, Max has been boarding at Wiggly Tails when we leave town. He has been about five times and loves it there. He hops out of the car and never looks back to say good bye. They send me report cards letting me know how he is doing. And when he comes home he is still well behaved, delightfully tired, clean and probably bored! They take wonderful care of Max. read more

For the past 10 years, I have recommended Wiggly Tails to everyone who was looking for a groomer, day care, or boarding. I loved that place. We are a standard poodle family. Our first and second poodle passed, and we rescued another poodle from a multi-dog situation. Within the past year, something there has changed drastically. The staff are now very rude, especially manager Joana. Since I knew them for so long, it seems like she has been a huge problem, making Wiggly Tails service snotty, unprofessional, uncaring, and definitely acting like they don't care whether they have your business or not: they don't need you, is the main attitude of late. Communication is terrible. I tried 5 times before getting hold of the owner after Joana said that our dog would be "walked for the remainder of his stay," i.e. no playtime at ALL. How would I have proof they even walked him or let him out? The staff refuse to give Judd his messages, and he doesn't answer emails. I was in Tennessee on vacation, crying my eyes out picturing my dog not being let out for 8 more days, and they treated me like a stranger (again, 10 years of patronage), and said our dog was out of control and "attacked" other dogs. Only my husband getting on the phone and demanding to speak to the the owner (Judd), finally got him to call us back at HIS convenience. He admitted Joana should not have said our dog would not be allowed out to play. They essentially kicked our poodle out for being "aggressive." He gets overexcited and doesn't know when to give other dogs a break from playtime. Ok, so give him a time out. Nope, apparently our standard poodle is a nonstop aggressive menace and makes playtime at Wiggly Tails dangerous for all dogs involved. Are you kidding me?? This last visit our dog didn't seem excited to go there. Definitely a first. The little red flags went up in my mind, but I let it be...I had told them I would work with my dog and improve on our end, which was me being kind and professional and non-blaming, but this last time was the final straw. He got bad report card after bad report card, until the final box was checked "aggressive." So we logged in to watch the online cam....we saw our dog wandering around doing...NOTHING. We watched for 30 whole minutes and he didn't do anything but wander around. Joana targeted my dog: she didn't like him. I will never know what happened, but she was determined to get us kicked out. I canceled all future trips and will never go back. It's very sad when a good thing ends. I thought maybe Judd would call us to at least say sorry it didn't work out. But no, he doesn't care. Never mind going there for 10 years (3 different dogs) and spending literally thousands of dollars at his establishment. He thinks he has plenty of business to spare. Such a great daycare and boarding facility!!! The physical facility is great! Lots -- and lots -- of outdoor space, but multiple interior areas as well. My dog will play with other dogs (occasionally!), but I love the fact that he can find another area -- away from the scrum -- when he wants to chill on his own. He is a Tibetan Terrier, and, so, has a rich inner life requiring some space to meditate on his own (). The staff at Wiggly Tails respects his quirks and accommodates and cherishes him! No judgment! My most important criteria are cleanliness and safety --- Wiggly Tails delivers on both counts, so I am a huge fan. I can not say enough positive things about Wiggly Tails. I have two boxers who would never be able to be boarded in a traditional sense. They need the space and the play groups and the time outside. Wiggly Tails has been the only place that my dogs thoroughly enjoy. They both start excitedly jumping around when they see dog food being put into ziplock bags. The owners and staff are all fantastic. The energy is positive and communication straightforward, consistent and helpful. My kids and I look forward to the report cards! Recently found Wiggly Tails for daycare, boarding and grooming, recommended by our vet. Luna, my Std. Poodle, and I are very excited. She was groomed yesterday (first time) and while taking an afternoon walk, a person stopped their car on the busy road to tell me how beautiful Luna is and that "her hair is perfect-looks like a photograph". I gave very few instructions, but the groomer knew exactly what to do. As for daycare and boarding, Luna was apprehensive on the first visit, but quickly warmed up to play, socialize and be a "happy" dog after staying home with me during the pandemic. Soon, she will be spending a week at Wiggly Tails and I feel confident she will be happy and well-cared for while I am away. read more

We had never boarded our dogs before and were nervous about leaving them as they are older. Judd answered all our questions and reassured us. We liked that all dogs are required to be assessed and spend a day on daycare prior to boarding. We also appreciated the daily "report cards" sent during our pups stay. Also really appreciated their flexibility with booking and changes. Other places we've tried have no refund policies and we were happy to see Wiggly Tails doesn't follow that (at least currently). I have been taking my dogs to their doggie day care for several months now. I feel like they are in excellent hands and I have no problem admitting I can be a bit of a nut when it comes to my doggies. I love them dearly and try to give them the best of the best and that is why I take them here. The staff is so kind, caring, and compassionate. The owner has done a great job hiring a staff of awesome, energetic, dog loving individuals. When I pull up to Wiggly Tails, my dogs cannot wait to get out of the car and go play. My dog absolutely LOVES coming to Wiggly Tails! He has been coming here about once a week for the past six months. I've had to drop him off with little notice a few times and the staff is always extremely accommodating Every time he is there he is greeted by name and even though he is not the friendlist dog, he is comfortable with every member of the staff petting/holding him. They even pretend his constant parking isn't annoying :) He has also been groomed there and looked great! Yesterday when I picked him up he looked extra white and fluffy (which is sadly not how he looked when I dropped him off). When I asked why he was so fluffy I was told "Well, he was having LOTS of fun today and got into some dirt so we gave him a bath, hope that's OK!" This place is awful!!! The groomer is a total idiot and would never come back!!! She has been cutting my two dogs for months. I tell her every time DO NOT cut my dogs long eyelashes. She suddenly did not remember this key trait for my dog. She cut ONE eyelash and then left his other eyelash long - he is now walking around with half his face cut and the other side is uncut!! I was FURIOUS!! As I paid over $115 to groom both dogs. My other dog was also horribly cut. She again FORGOT after cutting my dogs for months to cut her so that she looks like a Maltese rather than a poodle!! Uggghhhh a horrible cut!!! My neighbor recently complained about Wiggly Tails and would never go back there because the owners could care less about the dogs. I now agree with her as it is Sooo true!!! I told the owners the story, he sent back 2 sentences back to the effect of " oh well" so sorry but cya later. He really did not apologize that my dogs face wAs cut so poorly. Wiggly tails is a great place for day care and boarding. We have been taking our dog here for about 3 years. The staff and owner are friendly, knowledgable, and caring. I often asked for advice on behavioral or minor health issues with my dog and I was always offered many suggestions. My dog is the type that would try to runaway and has run away from friends homes I have left him with. I had a very negative experience when I spoke to the gentleman at wiggly tails. I had $100 dollar gift certificate that I won at an auction in Jan 2020. yes, it expired after a year, however due to COVID for a year and my reluctance to subject my beloved Persian to her first ever grooming, I did not utilize it. When I called to ask if it would be honored presently, I was met with a firm NO and "well we were open all during covid". SORRY. This is NOT the way to gain loyal customers. Poor customer relations. He could have at least offered to give me half the value. Now I am out $100 and was left with a poor impression. I'm glad the dogs are happy. read more

Wiggly Tails is great!! After trying 2 other doggie daycares, my husband and I landed here. Their massive outdoor area is what drew us in. Each staff member is very attentive and can always recall how my dog behaved for the day (crazy dog mom here!). They recently remodeled as well and their prices are competitive. They have an in house groomer which is very convenient. And they offer boarding. They have great hours. Though I sometimes wish they opened at 6:30 as I'm an early bird. They are located in an industrial area which I'm sure is helpful due to the dogs barking pretty frequently. Highly recommend! read more

After boarding our dog, Jake, for ten days, we were very disappointed when we brought him home to find that he was dirty, smelly, and had dried bits of fecal matter below his tail, and on his sides, and his back was wet. He looked sad. We were sad to think he had to endure 10 days like this. We had to bring him into the basement and give him a bath before letting him in the rest of the house. Also, when the young girl brought him out, he wasn't on a leash. He could have run out the front door if we hadn't caught him. This is the best place for your dog, period! I have checked at least 10-12 places (from down town to the suburbs) since I started looking for Benya's Day Care before I found them. Every time I knocked on the door and asked if I can see the facility the answer was : "By appointment only".  Why?! When I was inside, I always smelled Doggy's poop or strong smell of Bleach (and my eyes were almost out of my orbits because of that)...The area inside and out were always "limited", small... When I came to Wiggly Tails first time I was surprised how nice it smelled, how clean it was. No smell of bleach or bad smell at all. I asked the same question if I can see the facility and I was so surprised again that all of a sudden the staff member (not even the owner) opened the door and said "pease, come in and check".  It was a very nice, so clean, huge place (inside and out), outside was incredibly impressive! I liked it very much...So, Benya was 4-5 months old, a little stubborn, but very nice and happy boy, Wiggly Tails  journey began. We have been with Wiggly Tails since 2011: day care, grooming, boarding (serious boarding - 21-30 days sometimes). My mom was very sick and I had many trips outside the country for her Stem Cell therapy. Benya was always in Wiggly Tails for Boarding. He loved to go to Wiggly Tails for Day Dog Care too, he was very happy and tired after.  The owner and the staff were always very nice, professional, kind and attentive. Sometimes we had small problems, it's life. For example, Benya never been in a cage and when during a nap time he was placed in the cage, he had an anxiety and scratched his nose very badly. I addressed this issue with the staff and Judd, they accommodated him (he was spending his nap time outside the cage, sometimes, if not always, with the staff in their room, snoring loudly). The groomer was very good. Benya never liked the bath, but was always very happy and handsome (smell nicely) after Dana's "bath". I've never had any major problems in Wiggly Tails since Benya's first day. I was very confident leaving him for weeks with them, they always took a very good care of him. When my lovely Dog Benya recently passed away and I e-mailed to the staff, Judd called me and he was almost crying with me during his sincere condolences. I came in as a new client with my dog for the "temperament testing". I walked in the door and the young girl at the front desk put an application on the counter for me to fill out and asked to take my dog to the back for the "temperament test". With out any exchange of names or introduction. I asked her if i could first see the back before she takes my dog into the back of who-knows-where to assure that I was comfortable with it. She told me i wasn't allowed back there because the dogs would get excited and act differently. Understandable, maybe? I asked her if she expected me to allow my dog to go back there with a stranger, to an unknown place, for "temperament testing" (that consists of putting a new dog in a group of established dogs to see how they get along), she told me if i was uncomfortable then this wasn't the place for us. I am familiar with dog training and i keep putting "temperament testing" in these quotations because this is always conducted with one or two trust worthy dogs. Not in a large play group. Not to mention, there were already 2 smalls dogs running around loose in the back area. Considering the lack of comfort, transparency, and seemingly lack of knowledge i wasn't about to trust this girl to take my dog in back for any reason. I've never been to a boarding hotel that didn't offer the human a tour first. This just blew my mind. This was just my experience. Do your homework! read more

THEY LOST MY DOG! In my opinion Wiggly Tails has one job: keep my dog safe while I am away. They completely failed in every way possible. We received a phone call at 7 am on Thanksgiving morning from a woman who had found my dog soaking wet in a gas station. We dashed to pick him up, delaying our trip out of town. We were so thankful that someone found him and that he had managed to safely cross Willow Road (extremely busy). When we returned to Wiggly Tails to pick up his bed and food, the workers didn't know who he was and had not noticed he was missing. They gave no proposed reason for his escape. The workers seemed to all be extremely young, aloof, and apathetic. They also refused to give us the owner/manager's number so we could figure out what had happened. Later, the owner called us and said that our 25 pound dog had "opened" 2 crate doors, 1 large door, and pressed the handicap button to open the outside door. Coincidentally he managed to do this without a scratch on him, without scratching anything at Wiggly Tails, and at 6:33 am -the exact time employees arrive at work. I don't think we'll ever know what happened for sure but I do know we won't be back! read more
