Where do I begin?!! We have been going to THE DOG STOP for years, but they just continue to exceed my expectations! We were 15 minutes late past closing last night due to a flight delay. I spoke to several members of the team who assured me that they would wait so I could get my timid dog out of boarding. I didn't even ask, they OFFERED! Plus, they had groomed him later in the afternoon so he was fresh and clean for pickup. Evie is a rockstar! Went above and beyond-so kind and sweet-stayed late and even gave him extra treats! If there was a negative star option, I would have used that rating. If you love your pet, do NOT let them near this facility. We boarded our healthy but elderly dog for a week at this facility. We boarded her here before without incident and always informed the handlers about her chronic conditions, but not life threatening conditions (bronchitis, arthritis and partial deafness). Before the week was over and on Christmas day (the day before we were due to pick her up) we received a text message (because why would anyone pick up the phone these days) informing us that our dog had diarrhea and had literally soiled all over herself. We asked whether we could pick her up right away in response to their text but were told that we should wait a couple of hours. After we brought her home our dog vomited several large rubber bands and bile and started shaking uncontrollably, followed by more diarrhea. We promptly took her to the emergency vet and spent hours there and many hundreds of dollars in testing, including an ultrasound the following morning, to treat her dehydration and to make sure that our dog had expelled all of the foreign matter from her system. We informed the Dog Stop of these facts and received a "poor dog" text in response, claiming that they were "investigating the matter." No phone call or any offer to make things right by this facility. The negligence of this business and their staff have caused pain and discomfort to our (former therapy) dog who has precious little time left on this Earth. I am outraged and how little concern they have shown for our animal and would never ever let any animal near this facility. read more

Do NOT send your dogs here. Horrible care First of all they do not answer the phones and I've called numerous times. To make this a short story I decided to board them for the weekend to give this place a try as a new for me and my dogs. They were there for two days. On the last day they sent me a text saying "btw your dog has limp" so I get there and tell me he was playing a lot with other dogs. He didn't seem to limp when we left. But as soon as I got home he started to limp again so I decided to check his paws. They had blisters on them!!! They have astroturf and it was like 90 degrees outside. God knows how long my poor dog was out there for burning his poor paws! Never again I'm livid. read more

I came here with my collie-corgi mix when one of the groomers, Kelly, left Kriser's. Monroe had an attitude, especially when it comes to grooming, and after Kelly left, she refused to let anyone touch her -- the first groom after Kelly left I literally had to go in with her for the tail end of it and bribe her with treats (she is ridiculous, admittedly). The Dog Stop took great care of Monroe, and of course, Kelly did a great job as always. Monroe regressed a bit after I tried to get her groomed with someone else at Kriser's and wouldn't let Kelly get her belly, and paws are out of the question. But she did get her butt trimmed, which was a miracle in and of itself. I'm sure in time she'll get her to calm down enough that she can groom all of her. On the meantime, she always does a good job and she comes back looking and smelling great. read more

The staff knows nothing about puppies and energy levels, pulling our pup from play, instead of matching dogs with energy level. Few weeks ago our dog was soiled in urine and when we picked her up, the handler literally said 'wow, she smells like urine' and handed her back to us. We can only assume she was sitting in her own urine for hours when she got pulled from the play group and nobody bothered to check on her. Beyond disappointed with this place. read more

After reading all the great reviews on the Dog Stop I decided to take my two dogs to get groomed. I moved from the city so was looking for a new grooming place in the area and so glad I found this place. My two girls looked so good after their grooming. The staff really listened to what cut I wanted for the two dogs and they came out looking and smelling great. This place takes care of the dogs and it's clean! The staff is always kind and easy to work with. It's starting to get a little pricy but I'd rather pay a little more knowing my dog is being taken care of and treated with love. I like how there "kennels" don't look like the stereotypical metal and it makes my dog feel less like he is in a shelter. The only negative is he always seems to come home super thirsty, they say they give them a bowl of water but maybe mine just drinks minimally or they take it away at a certain time since they only go out a few times. read more

Was in a pinch for dog care as I was going out of town for a funeral and didn't have time to line anything up. I called them up and scheduled a few days to take care of my dog while I was gone -- no problems. I was a little anxious about it because my bull terrier doesn't play well with other dogs (and will sometimes straight-up go after another dog...not in a playful way) and I didn't want there to be any unfortunate incidents with other dogs. They assured me that they would keep him away and the other dogs safe and that he would get some individual attention. They also said I could call them at any time to check in on him to see how it was going. They were super friendly and took good care of him while I was gone. No problems at all. I drop my dog off for boarding for five days and it seem that the staff really cared about her. As soon as I picked her up a couple of the staff members for showing me pictures that they took with Allie during her staying. I also got her groomed and she looked amazing when I picked her up. read more

We've been bringing our puppy here for daycare for the last few weeks and could not be happier! There are both indoor and outdoor play areas, cameras on all of the play spaces and my dog comes home exhausted. I feel confident in the cleanliness of this place as you can see the room attendants constantly cleaning. They also do a deep clean once the dogs are moved to a new room. I've been SO impressed by The Dog Stop Deerfield staff over the past several months. They go above and beyond. I have a 70lb adopted Am-staff/pit Leonard who I needed to find boarding for at the very last minute over the holidays when my sister came home with my infant niece. Len's a total mush but he's never lived with/been good around kids and I was pretty stressed trying to figure out what I was going to do with him a few days before Xmas. Started calling around to local boarding places and eventually spoke to Mark at The Dog Stop who couldn't have been kinder or more helpful after explaining the situation. To my surprise he said he'd even be able to accommodate Len due to some last minute cancellations. Mark explained to me that he has 3 Am staffs of his own and loves the breed. This put me at ease as it was my first time leaving him there cause I've found some boarding places to be apprehensive or unwelcoming of pits in the past, especially on the North Shore hah. I dropped Leonard off that day. We've since boarded him at The Dog Stop about once a month and they continue to go above and beyond. They're always communicative and helpful. You can tell they truly care about dogs and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who has one. Even more if you're the owner of a commonly misunderstood breed. We were absolutely thrilled when the Dog Stop opened up here. The new owners did an amazing job upgrading both the indoor and outdoor play yards. The staff is friendly and really understand dogs. We've been very pleased with both the care that our dog gets while we're out of town and the fact that we can "check in on her" on their web cams should we want to.
