If you're looking for a fun, casual spot with great food and an even better drink menu, Wally's…read moreWieners is worth the wait. While they're known for their impressive selection of hot dogs, the menu also features delicious burgers, chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers, and crispy fries, so there's something for everyone. On this visit, we both opted for burgers. I had the Mushroom & Swiss Smash Burger, which was perfectly cooked with a flavorful, juicy patty and melted Swiss cheese. We shared an order of the crab fries, which were outstanding and easily enough for two. To wash it all down, I enjoyed a refreshing Dark & Stormy. One surprise was their espresso martini menu, featuring approximately seven different variations. It's a fun addition that sets Wally's apart from your typical burger and hot dog joint. Be prepared to wait for a table during busy times unless you're happy grabbing a seat at the bar. The food, drinks, and lively atmosphere make the wait well worth it.

There was a 30-minute wait and we almost left, but I'm so glad we stayed. We were seated upstairs in the "speakeasy"-style bar, and it completely exceeded any expectations, felt like a hidden old-world restaurant. We ordered the wiener tower (5 dogs, fries, and dipping sauces for $40), which was fun, well-priced, and great for sharing. We tried five different dogs and they were all bomb! The spicy margarita was excellent as well. Overall, a super fun experience for both kids and adults. Highly recommend, and we'd definitely go back, especially if you can get a table upstairs

We didn't do much research on which spots had the best ones. It was also past midnight, so we just chose a spot that was open late and close by. We ended up at Ben's Chili Dogs in downtown Newport. It's conveniently open until 2AM on weekends. The interior resembles that of your typical take out/fast food business. It's clean and has a few tables for dining in. It could use some TLC, though. The ceilings and walls could use more color and decor. It looked bare and sad. The menu is as straightforward as it gets. It focuses on hot dogs and your staple sides like fries and onion rings. They're known for their chili and hot cheese sauce toppings. Additionally, they also sell poutine, tater tots, soups, soft serve ice cream, and shakes. We ordered three different kinds: cheese dog ($2.99), chili dog ($2.95), The Works dog (~$3 for chili, mustard, onion, celery salt). We also ordered a small side of fries ($3.99). The hot dogs were just average, nothing to write home about. The presentation wasn't too appealing. I doubt they were freshly made. The buns were cold and smushed. I expected the meat to be super savory with a hint of smokiness, but it was bland. The hot cheese topping looked as if it was old and just reheated. It wasn't thick or saucy at all and had a texture similar to plastic. The fries were okay. They needed to be crispier. You might get better at 7-Eleven. I'm not a wiener snob nor am I from the area lol, so take my review with a grain of salt. Just expected more from a specialty hot dog joint.

Now in reading the reviews I saw some wankers grumbling about the service but let me tell you the salty guy taking my order and serving my dog was awesome, exactly what you'd want. I mean if this guy hasn't served less than 1,000,000 dogs I'd be surprised. Now the decor is like a NYC Times Square Dog stand from the 80's. It's what attracted me to begin with. A place needs some grime to give it character. After I ordered I grabbed a window seat in one of the table for customers. The window spot allowed you to see the passerby's heading down to the port. My meal initially was a Chili Cheese Dog, Fritos & Coke. LOVED IT ! It came and was so tasty I needed more so I ordered a Clint Eastwood Style hot dog meaning yellow mustard only. Both dogs were succulent and delicious. The bun was soft and the dog was prefect, the kind of meal if I was on death row I'd want for my last one. One last thing the value is amazing, 4 hot dogs, 1 bottle of Coke & bag of Fritos less $20... Can you flipping believe it, I couldn't but I was here so yes it happened! Salty Guy thanks for serving us some amazing hot dogs! The experience was worth twice as much. I'll be back for sure !

If you have the opportunity to sit outside in the summer, it is just spectacular. The inside and main restaurant are probably a three out of five by comparison. But if you can snag an outdoor spot, don't think twice. Five out of five. Service: 4/5 Nothing that knocked our socks off. The bartenders weren't the most talkative, but drinks and food came out fast. They're super busy and we'll give them some grace. Gets the job done. Food & Drinks: 5/5 My wife and I came here specifically for drinks and appetizers, so I can't speak to the full menu -- but if the apps are any indication, I imagine the food here is just excellent. We got the John Daly frozen iced tea, and it was so good that we literally left and came back for another one. Perfect summer drink. We also got the clam chowder, and I'm giving this a six out of five -- probably one of the best clam chowders I've ever had in my life. Just perfect. We also got the Parmesan fries which were good, not crazy amazing, but solid. Overall: 5/5 Come here for the outdoor bar experience, the drinks, and the clam chowder. That alone is worth the trip. One of our favorite experiences in Newport and I couldn't recommend it more strongly.

You walk upstairs (narrow stairway with high pitch, use the handrails) and enter the speakeasy. It was interesting in that most of the people there were families with kids - I can tell you as someone who seeks out speakeasys that this was unusual. We ordered our drinks - I ordered a Bourbon Beachcomber, and my wife ordered a Midnight Mocha, since that style of drinks is a specialty for The Copper Club. The bartender put on a good show when making the drinks, which were served in the correct glass with the correct garnish. The drink quality was solid. So why only 4 stars? This place is used for overflow seating for Wally's Weiners. That's fine, but it misses a market (and it wasn't even LISTED here on Yelp for other Yelp members to find) which is actually pretty hot right now. Maybe they need to benchmark eleven twenty two in Paso Robles, or Club Arcada in St Charles for some ideas of how to make this concept pop. Drink prices were in par for quality drinks. You can order all of Wally's menu items as well.
