So many good things to say about our experience at this wonderful restaurant!!…read more My wife and I were staying in Three Rivers, going to the neighboring National Parks for 4 days. We came across Ol Buckaroo off a recommendation by our AirBnB Host. It was so good we came in TWICE for dinner on different days during our stay. I'll highlight both meals I had. But first, the service was great. Both times we came in the restaurant wasn't terribly busy (around 5 PM on weekdays) and we were seated right away. Keep in mind by 6ish/6:30 loads of customers were coming in. The restaurants is cute and small inside with maybe 10-12 tables, but a ton of outdoor seating with mist-fans. We decided to stay inside both times. Our servers who take care of us on both days were attentive and kind, getting us everything we needed quickly and constantly checking on us. Regarding the food: 1st night I ordered the "Pesto Pasta with chicken"--Spaghetti with a creamy basil pesto sauce. To drink I ordered their house-made soda--soda with Watermelon flavoring (yum). You get a large portion of delicious spaghetti (definitely your money's worth) soaked in pesto sauce. The chicken was tender and moist. It was a perfect, carb-filled meal following a long day of hiking. The soda was also tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this dish to anyone coming in with some big-time hunger. The 2nd visit I ordered the "Buckaroo Burger:"--a durham ranch beef patty, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Buckaroo sauce. I had a side of fries and to drink, the "Pims Cup:" Sparkling Water, lemon, cucumber, and fruit garnish. On the menu the drink is described as, "slightly sweet and refreshing with a hint of anise flavor," perfectly described and true. The burger was good (maybe not as good as the Pesto Pasta I had a couple nights before, but good). It was everything a good burger should be! Ol Buckaroo contributed to our amazing stay and vacation and we hope to come back one day. We'll definitely be recommending to any of our friends and family who ever plan to go to Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Parks. What a gem.

We visited on a Saturday morning and had to wait outside for about 10 minutes before a table opened up, which honestly made sense once we saw how busy the place was. The food ended up being exactly what I wanted before a long day of hiking. I ordered the Breakfast Bowl, which came with a half order of biscuits and gravy, one egg, and two sausage links. The portion was perfect for me since I don't like a huge breakfast, but it was still really filling and tasted great. The service was excellent. Our server was super kind and friendly to me and my friends, and the whole experience felt very welcoming. It had that small-town breakfast spot vibe where it feels like all the locals come to start their day, and even as visitors we felt right at home. The ambiance really adds to the charm. The dining area is a medium-sized room packed with as many tables and chairs as it can fit, and every seat was filled. It felt lively in the best way and showed how popular the place is. The restaurant is also located at a small airport, which makes the setting outside pretty cool and unique. Overall, the food and atmosphere were perfect for a breakfast stop. That one meal kept me fueled through our visit to Sequoia including an 8-mile hike, which honestly surprised me. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Onion rings are fresh and the sweet taste linger within your mouth, but it's a bit greasy. Service: the staff is sweet and nice. One thing bothers us is that he check is handwritten and when we pay with credit card the amount didn't add up. They didn't mention any credit card fees which is weird. Ambiance: we searched online and found this place and the moment we arrived we understood why it's called "The Runway" as it is literally located next to an airplane runway and the interiors are amazing! Very detailed decor including the lights!

Fortunately, I was…read moreable to quickly book a room at The Parks Inn Bed & Breakfast, despite the area being very busy. It was a fast and easy process! We found the inn very lovely and quiet. The beautiful surroundings and the inn had a charming, vintage, and cozy touch that made us excited to stay. The owner greeted us warmly, and we appreciated the hospitality after driving all day from San Diego. The room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We were able to take an evening swim before settling down for the night. When we woke up, we had breakfast right outside our room in a lovely setup with a garden atmosphere. I appreciated that they accommodated my diet and were more than happy to substitute food options to make me feel welcome. My husband and I decided right then and there that we'd be back for another stay and hopefully a longer one. I'd definitely recommend this place for a nice getaway from the city to relax and unwind. There was a lot going on in town, which was shocking but we also came out of the park earlier than we normally do, but amazing enough Casa Mendoza wasn't very busy and we got seated immediately, and we just had the best server that we've ever had there, she was so polite and friendly and crazy efficient with our orders and getting them back to us asap. I didn't wanna fill up on beans and rice so I just went with an à la carte of three crispy tacos, and a tamale. I told her to put them all on one plate when they came out looking like the best à la carte plate I've ever seen; almost as if it was a menu item unto itself. Everything just had so much flavor, and the tamale is definitely in the top two of best tamales I've ever had.
