Purchased a Expedition from Wickstrom Ford their handshakes and smiles were a complete nightmare. Promised things but no follow through. Actually had our new car damaged while being unloaded from truck and said they would fix which they did but horribly and when we went back to have them fix our brand new car again they refused and said we did the damage to the car. I brought a Ford Diesel E-350 to Wickstrom Barrington, IL on a Friday evening to be diagnosed. I was called Saturday morning with a diagnosis and I was told that the car has one bad injector. Shelly gave me a quote to repair it. I decided to have all four injectors repaired as per her recommendation. I also asked her if they could take care of my truck fast. She said that they might be able to start the same day, but if not, the truck should be done by Monday afternoon. Shelly called me on Monday before lunch to let me know that the truck won't be ready until the end of the day. I said ok, that is good. Then she called me a few hours later to tell me that the truck won't be ready until the next day. This didn't sound good anymore. I depend on this car and I really needed them to keep their word. The next day nobody called me until I called them around 11am. I asked to talk to Shelly, but she wasn't in the office. I spoke to Brandon and he told me that the car wasn't repaired yet and it won't be until the end of the day. He kept on telling me how they finally got the injectors now and they can work on the truck. (I thought the dealer had the injectors in stock, and later I was confirmed that they do have them in stock). So, I ask for more details on why and what is going on. Brandon started to tell me that there is a lot of work involved in doing this type of repair. And that the technician is working really hard on my truck and also that it is taking longer. I told Brandon that I really needed the car yesterday. All he told me was that he is sorry but this was the first time he heard about it and the car would not be ready until at the end of the day which would be before 7pm. I hang up the phone a little frustrated and I decided to go to the dealer in person, just to see if they really started to work on the truck or not. They had the truck in their shop since Friday night and I was told that it would take 8 hours to do this repair. Fast forward, I get to the dealer and meet Brandon face to face. He was a little shocked to see me there after I told him who I was and why I was there. He said he would message the technician to ask why is it taking this long to repair my truck. I patiently waited until Brandon came back with some answers. A few minutes later I was told that the technician had to take the motor off and that the front off my car was all in pieces. Brandon was trying to explain to me that the technician was working on the car really hard and it wasn't finished yet. I still wasn't happy with the answer I was given. Therefore Brandon offered to take me inside the warehouse to see with my own eyes that they are working on the truck. When I got there I was surprised to see that the motor of my truck wasn't taken out as Brandon specified to me and no parts where taken off yet. Nobody even started to work on the truck until then. The technician showed me the new injectors he was suppose to put in (they where still in the original package). The technician also told me that the old injectors weren't taken off the truck yet. Nothing was done to my truck from Saturday morning until Tuesday at 12 pm except having the hood open. I left the dealer thinking that I could have waited another day, two or three or more without having them even start repairing my truck. The truck was ready by 4 pm the same day. That was quite quickly. I felt like everybody made fun of me. They saw me, a woman and they thought I don't know anything about cars anyway. So, they decided to tell me all kinds of lies. The part with the injectors not being in stock, the part that they have to take off the engine, the fact that they have to work 8 hours on it (even though the truck was repaired in 4 hours and they wrote on the paper that it was repaired in 9 hours), the part were my whole front of the car was in pieces because it was a very hard job to replace 4 injectors. At the end I asked for a discount because of having my car repaired so late also because I lost a job that I was supposed to do, but I was denied. Don't do business with this Ford dealer. They will lie to you especially if you are a woman. They think women don't knew much about cars. read more

I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and the ABS was not working. So I called up Champions and they looked at it, and fixed it ASAP. They worked with my extended warranty and didn't try to over charge me for something bigger. They found the problem, fixed it and sent me on my merry way. I was impressed with their service department and the level of professionalism I encountered. But then again they're probably used to soccer moms and mini-vans so they bite their tongue a lot. ;) read more

After a couple weeks of searching to buy a used Jeep I hadn't had any real horror stories from the dealerships I had visited. Walking into this dealership it is fancy and could be intimidating buying a used car but unlike some of the other places they treated me like I was buying a brand new car. My sales person Manny looked over the vehicle just as close as I did, as if he was buying it. Manny knew a lot about the Jeep Wrangler model and was able to answer my questions without having to check the internet or other people at the dealer. Financing was quick and painless. I live around the dealership area and went to buy a land rover discovery 2004 ,which had a good price, I was greeted by some cold sales people who doesnt want give a damn for people who they think cannot afford a car in their lot b'koz of obvious reasons, not what they do for a living, but based on their complexion. Anyways I didnt want to shop around as I liked the color and miles on discovery, finally Michael came in and told me that car is outside and it is in great condition blah ..blah ..blah. I sat in the car but it didnt start , she told me it is bad battery, tried to jump start all other attempts failed. So I was told they will look into it and call me. Michael never called me on the next business day , I called her ,left her a voice message and she didnt respond for two three days .Finally I called them and this time Mike was on the phone and he promised to return the call ,same thing no response from either of them. Meanwhile I kept getting automated message from Richard Wickstrom asking me about the experience , I mailed them with details finally they told me that the car is not available for sale due to mechanical issues. I was browsing CL and found the ad of discovery which was posted by them after they told me it was not for sale.I did check their website and it was listed there as well!! I think they have something to hide and something really fishy going on there. I would advice caution when dealing with Wicksrom and also the with the sales people. read more

My friend used to work as a Lincoln rep in the Chicago area and suggested Wickstrom when we were looking for a new Ford because they have the best customer service in the area and he believes they are very trustworthy. It paid off!!! We initially got a Ford Fusion SE and later that evening regretted not paying the additional money to upgrade to the Titanium. When the salesman (Charlie Knapik - I definitely recommend him!) contacted me the next day, we mentioned that to him, but said it was fine and that we still liked the car. I walked in looking to test drive a new Mustang as part of Ford's program where you test drive a new 2015 model Ford in exchange for $50. I was greeted by Clayton, and as soon as I mentioned the promotion, his tone changed. He asked if I was a serious buyer and offered to sign the form and have me on my way. I've got a 2008 Mustang that I love, and have been considering trading up to a new 5.0, so I was very excited about test driving the vehicle, thus I declined the offer. I understand some people just want the $50. I said I'd be a serious buyer in a year after I graduate from school where I'm studying engineering. He told me to my face that I was wasting his time and I should really just have him sign it and go. Keep in mind this is on a Wednesday evening, and we were the only ones on the entire lot. I still tried to push test driving the vehicle as I was very excited. My friend was looking to test drive the new aluminum bodied F150 as well, as he is currently in a Chevy and looking to possibly switch to a Ford. Clayton came out and I was told the manager refused to let me drive a new Mustang unless I was buying tonight. Long story short, after some begging they finally let us drive a 2015 F150 instead of a 2014. I walked in and asked to talk to a manager and spoke with Robert Palazzo. I was just looking for an explanation as to why I couldn't test drive one with this promotion as I haven't had a problem in the past and they were always very courteous to my family and I. I mentioned I was thinking about trading in my 2008 and again, their tone changes. Oh bring it in! I asked for the business card and as I was exiting I asked to reaffirm if I brought in my 08, I could test drive the new one. He tells me, "Come here." He proceeds to scold and belittle me like a five year old caught snatching a cookie. He tells me about how he can't put miles on his new Mustangs. The one I wanted to drive had 231 miles. I'm not sure what a 2 mile test drive around the block would do, but I do understand. He explained that Ford doesn't help him sell cars with miles on them and it's a terrible promotion, and Mustang people are looking for zero miles on their car. My car is my baby, and I completely understand. I also know that a good majority of those people will not be buying one off the lot unless it's exactly what they want, either. I tried to state that it's a decent program as it brings people in the door, such as my friend, who normally wouldn't look at a Ford. He told me that's the problem! Bringing people in their door is the problem. He keeps going on about how he can't sell new cars with miles. Again, I completely understand, but I believe strongly that if you take care of me now, there's no doubt I will be back in 1-2 years for my next vehicle purchase. If I'm wasting your time now, you don't deserve my time or money later. I am absolutely disgusted with how smug he acted towards me and how belittled I felt, and I will NOT be returning. Maybe it's the fact that I'm 22 years old and 'just a kid.' We've purchased vehicles from them in the past, and we have our vehicles serviced there. I've referred countless friends, family, and even complete strangers during my summer jobs at auto parts stores. I will certainly steer anyone I can away from this dealer, as they treat you like dirt and you're doing nothing but wasting their time, as told to my face. At this point I don't even care that I didn't get to drive the Mustang, I'm just disgusted with how I was treated. I always thought this dealership was different. I was wrong. read more

After about an hour the salesman come back with the with a proposal that was $3000 over my offer, and a highly insulting offer as trade-in. After hearing and see the "great deal" that Wickstrom Ford worked on, I told Wickstrom Ford that we are done and I would like my keys so I could go.The salesman and other employee, name Rob, followed me into the parking lot to inform me how I didnt know anything about their business and to "Get out of this Dealership". Service leaves much to be desired. When I got a tune-up recently, I was told that I had a severe leak in my coolant system, so I scheduled an appointment for 8:00 AM 12/26/16. I arrived early and told the service person that I checked over the last week and did not observe any leaks. After an hour of waiting I had to go find the service person and asked for an update. After a few more minutes I was told that apparently there was a loose clamp. After more than an 1 1/2 hrs. and $70 to replace a $2 hose clamp, I got my Escape back. Oh and the car-wash wasn't "working" either. When I got in, it smelled like McDonald's breakfast. I found myself wishing for a cigarette because I got screwed. Went to Wickstrom Ford today to purchase an Escape. It was the perfect day to do so since it was SNOWING... again. Seems to be the winter for it, thus purchasing the SUV. Michelle, our salesperson, was very helpful and took her time with us. We were there for HOURS, but we test drove three vehicles. Two of which were Escapes. The last was a 2012 Lincoln MKX. I fell in LOVE with this car! It was in MINT condition, all the bells and whistles, and it was the perfect price. Yes, the perfect price! We got a great deal and they gave me what I wanted as a trade in for my car. But, I did do my homework. I went in with three different comparison prices for my car's trade in value. I knew what I wanted to pay for a new car and I knew what I wanted for a trade in. It went down without a hitch. This is our second purchase from Wickstrom and there will be a third, for sure. We always bring our cars there to be serviced, too. I even brought my Pontiac there and had it worked on. I never once felt they were taking advantage of me. My husband told me my car might be leaking oil because he saw a stain. When I got home from work, I remembered what he said and saw fresh oil on the garage floor. I called Wickstrom Ford Lincoln and spoke with a Eric Hamm in the service department. He didn't hesitate and said to bring it right over and he would at least look at it and see what the problem was. I brought it over and they took it back right away and discovered it was the oil filter which had been cracked. He showed me and then said he was going to change it right away on the spot! Washed the undercarriage, too, where the oil had splattered as I drove. DID NOT CHARGE ME A PENNY! So nice! Has my business for sure! Left smiling and now I have my car to go to work tomorrow. As a lessee, I'm up for a new car every three years. As my current lease was reaching it's final months, I realized that the prior sales professional I used was no longer there. Nervous to venture out and contact a different sales professional, I settled on one after reading some good reviews - Micaela Limon. From the moment we first made communication, Micaela focused on my needs and was very attentive to questions I had via email. I was very pleased with her prompt replies. Soon after, I set up the appointment to come in for a test drive. She had several vehicles ready and waiting, despite the fact that I arrived 15 minutes early! She was just as friendly and personable in person as I had come to know her through email. She answered all of my questions with ease and demonstrated vast knowledge of each of the vehicles I looked at. What I appreciate about Micaela, and Wickstrom as a whole, is that in the 5 years since I first became a customer there, they never make me feel as though they are just in it to make the sale. Ever since I had my vehicle serviced here I have been receiving third party calls about warranty extensions. This tells me they sold my contact info because it was a specific phone number that I gave the service group. Also, they claimed I needed a new 'part' for a small issue I was having when if fact the 'part' had no defect at all. I found out this information after taking the vehicle to a honest mechanic. read more

Had a horrible experience here. Came in looking at a new F-150 and dealt with zal. Didn't seem interested in our sale at all. Didn't even look at our car when appraising it and tried to take advantage of us with our trade. Didn't click any of the features (our truck was fully loaded with all of the extras) when looking for the value. We werent asking for anything outrageous, a very fair price. He low balled us big time without even looking at it. Also told us the truck was sticker price with no rebates or anything (we had done our research and knew there were rebates). Be careful here because this guy will try to rip you off. We got 7 grand more for our truck (had it appraised at 2 other dealers and both were the same price) at another dealer and it also sold in a just a week there. So because of someone not interested in our sale and wanting to take advantage of us this dealer lost an easy sale and another quick sale with our trade in. read more

We compared some SUV's and test drove the one I really liked. Afterwards I told him that I am a really busy person with a super busy schedule and didnt know when I would be able to come back and purchase the vehicle. He contacted me several times while I was away and just gave me little updates about the vehicle I chose, when it was coming in to the dealership etc... he even was able to do the credit check over the phone which made it totally easy for me to just get back to town and come pick up my car!
