In my opinion, for what it is and for the price, the food and the drinks are very solid. Meal was cheap and filling. Drinks were cheap and tasted good. I can imagine that this space is super fun on a busy night (unfortunately we came early evening and it was pretty dead). Seems like a good place to catch a game at, too! read more

Met a friend at Wicked Willy's for Happy Hour and stayed for HOURS! There wasn't any wait to get inside. Atmosphere and look is soft to loud-dark and woody, trimmed in fun, colorful LED lights. The Happy Hour menu has so many good things to pick from so I just got a little of everything. I sipped on glass after glass of Prosecco. I tried the pasta with meat sauce which was ALMOST perfect. The chef used a slightly heavy hand with the salt. The cheesy slice of garlic toast was delicious. Buffalo wings were pretty basic. That GLIZZY though? It was more like a sausage- nicely grilled, drizzled with yellow mustard and served on a warm, soft bun. A live band set up after a while and jammed out, while my friend and I sipped on tequila and pineapple cocktails. The band became wonderfully loud, crowd participation was encouraged and a TIME was had by all! I look forward to going back. read more

Met a friend here since we were both already in the area, and I was not prepared for how committed this place is to the pirate theme. Genuinely surprised something like this exists in NYC and actually thrives. You'd expect a tourist trap, but it's honestly just a fun, relaxed place to hang out and chill. Service was good, nothing that'll blow you away, and the food was fine as well. I walked in with modest expectations and they matched them exactly, which worked out well for both of us. This place caught my eye and I wanted to see what the deal was, and I'll say this: they commit fully to the bit. Thar she blows, indeed. read more

The food was delicious. It was packed because of the World Cup match. People were getting served before us which is unacceptable. I don't care if they're here to watch soccer or if my skin color is different. That should NEVER happen. The staff were nice and accommodating!!! read more

Not bad for a bar in NYC. Affordable food and drinks. Lovely music and cup pong. Service was phenomenal.

Unlimited brunch drinks $30/person. You know the deal. All or nothing. Everyone at the table must do unlimited or no one does unlimited. Only champagne drink options for the unlimited but delicious. Not strong drinks though. Food was delicious. Service was mediocre for a Saturday afternoon. It felt like the waitress was stalling with the drinks. She was giving the table one pitcher at a time for a table of 4 when we were allowed 2 pitchers at a time. Not a good look. We had to request additional service from Other waitresses. Great music. Fun crowd. Mostly mid to late 20s and 30s. read more

.The best karaoke bar in N.Y.C., I've been to so many here in New York, and there's so many that I'm not going back to, they were mostly ok, not as good as 'Wicked Willies". Wednesday & Sunday nights, start around 9:30 to 10:30. P.S. Paul, see You there. read more

I went to Wicked Willy's for my 21st birthday around 3 PM, and honestly the experience was really disappointing. At the door, they scanned all of our IDs and said everything was fine, even though one of my friends wasn't 21. Once we sat down, my other friend (who is 21) and I tried to order a fishbowl to share, and suddenly we were told we couldn't be served because we were "underage." It didn't make sense, especially since they had already checked our IDs and let us in without any issue. After going back and forth, the waitress said we could order separate drinks instead, which we were fine with. We also ordered food. But from that point on, the whole vibe felt off. We were being watched by multiple staff members the entire time, which made us feel really uncomfortable. We came in completely sober, so it felt like they were just making assumptions for no reason. On top of that, the drinks tasted like there was barely any alcohol in them, which made the situation even more frustrating. It honestly felt like they were overcompensating or being overly cautious in a way that ruined the experience. I was really excited to celebrate my 21st here because I had heard good things, but it ended up being uncomfortable and awkward the whole time. I won't be coming back. read more

I came here for bottomless brunch with a group of friends. It's not that vibey inside. It's quite dark and I prefer a light and airy and brightly lit room. I got eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon and my friend got salmon eggs Benedict. We shared. I think the salmon was better. The drinks were not very strong. We got pitchers of everything. My friends liked the pineapple drink. I stuck with my mimosa. I probably wouldn't come back. There are a billion other places to do bottomless brunch in NYC. read more

Walking distance to Washington Square Park. They have outdoor and indoor eating. Decent size bar inside and different seating arrangements, with a small beer pong section. Came on a Saturday late afternoon. The Knicks playoff game was on, so it was pretty full. We were initially seated right in front of the speakers that were blasting the game. We asked to be moved and were offered a table in the beer pong section. It was much quieter there, so we gladly took the new seats. We ordered buffalo wings, flats only, loaded nachos, and two Mai Tais. They give water and small Mason jars to use. The food and service were good, and the drinks were strong. However, a palm sized water bug, also known as cukarachas/cockroach, started crawling down the wall next to my friends face as we ate. We jumped up and yelled for the waitress. One of the waiters brought a spray bottle, sprayed it onto the floor, and killed it. The guy then told us it's because of the wood on the walls. If you know this, why keep the wood and why put customers to sit right next to the walls... I know critters are expected in NYC, but not in the middle of a meal. We paid about $68 altogether. read more

Went there to get some wings and fries, spoke to the hostess outside. She asked if i wanted a table, i said no i'm only here to get some wings and fries. She said i would have to go inside to order (which was fine). As i was about to walk in she tells me i need to see your ID. I said i'm only here for wings and fries, you were the one who said to go in... (she said it was a bar so i had to show ID. I've been here before and walked right in, was never stopped until today. I actually enjoy going there now more than I initialy expected. Surprisingly, food is pretty decent, I liked the wings, mozerella sticks and fries also. Better than many of sports bar I have been to. And their atmosphere is pretty much in line with what the name suggests. If that's your vibe then you would like this. I actually go there specifically for karaoke nights (Wednesdays and Sundays), the host Hazel is awesome and there are quite a few excellent singers in regular pools. I know at least a couple of them have been on actual musicals and also professional singers. I mean, it's a karaoke show on stage so you do come across some bad singers but that's a part of it. But whether you're a singer or not, you would enjoy this. Good service both from waitstaff and bartender. I appreciate their points program they have. read more

Food: 4/5 | Service: 3/5 | Experience: 4/5 (Overall: 3.5/5) I came with a group of 6 for Saturday brunch. My ID was checked at the door. Upon walking in, you are immediately blasted with music and hit with how dark it is inside. We ordered the bottomless mimosas option, and I ordered the chicken and waffles. The mimosas were good. I really enjoyed the pineapple mint mimosa. As for the food, the chicken was covered in a really thick layer of cornmeal or breading, which was not the most pleasant, and the waffle was thin. Service was really slow whether it was getting more mimosas, getting the check and paying for it, or even getting us a to-go box. Our water pitcher was also not refilled at all - it was hard even getting a server's attention. We were also automatically charged a 22% tip. Overall, for what the experience is and the food portions / quality, although this bar has good mimosas, it is quite overpriced for what they offer. read more

OK, so Jamie W. and I just finished dinner at the Vinyl Steakhouse on 19th (review: https://bit.ly/3h6OoMW) and ambled over to our favorite hangout spot, Washington Square Park. We weren't in the mood to return to our hotel, so we concluded it must be tiki time. New York being New York, we found one nearby on Bleecker. Actually Wicked Willy describes himself as a Caribbean oasis. They have fishnets on the ceiling and grass hut fringe over the bar, so it was cose enough for us. It was Sunday karaoke night and except for a couple at the bar, the place was empty with a full staff trying not that hard to look busy. They serve food here, so the server was pushing their bar bites on us. But we just wanted something in an unnatural color to drink. Jamie ordered the $13 Wicked Mai Tai which had Bacardi black and white rum, orange and almond liqueur, pineapple juice, and angostura bitters (photo: https://bit.ly/3UmUwir). Tasty, a bit sweet and not that wicked. I went with the $14 Frozen Patron Paloma which combined Patron Silver tequila with grapefruit juice, salt, and lime. Somehow my drink rated a blinking rainbow light ice cube which mesmerized me to no end (video: https://bit.ly/3T63FLk). The karaoke started up with the DJ doing a fine version of Billy Joel's 'Piano Man' (video: https://bit.ly/3zIp6eD). The problem was that there was literally no chance of improvement with the next performer as the female half of the bar couple proved by covering Taylor Swift. At least I thought it was Taylor Swift. Time for us to drink more. Jamie segued to the $13 Hurricane Willy (photo: https://bit.ly/3UqSlKU). The mix of rums and passionfruit sounded more dangerous than it was. I was a bit more ballsy and ordered the $13 Tropical Tito's Pineapple Martini which gratefully came in a stemless glass (photo: https://bit.ly/3NxRVzS). Fortunately neither of us were drunk enough to do any karaoke performances though Jamie was convinced he could do "New York State of Mind" justice. Yep, it was time to go. COCKTAILS - 4 stars...better than expected with the ice cube that didn't quit AMBIANCE - 3.5 stars...not as retro vintage as we preferred but tropical enough SERVICE - 3.5 stars...the young server was kinda humorless TOTAL - 4 stars...more into Otto than Willy (review: https://bit.ly/3THx5QQ)...but awfully convenient in the Village RELATED - Thirsty in NYC? Stopped by for their $22 bottomless brunch for 60 minutes. Had chicken and waffles, the brunch burger and the Mac n cheese. I definitely recommend the chicken and waffles and Mac n cheese. The food was pretty good, and so was the music, it was pretty crowded, but started to clear out once brunch was over. Reservation is recommended. They have a pirate or shipwreck decor. I've been multiple times and the menu has changed a bit but the food is always good. Yes there's a pulse deal, but if you decide to use it you won't be able to make any substitutions and you'll have to stick to the brunch menu only. read more

Came here spontaneously after Olfactory for Brunch. Got on the waitlist using Yelp. I was able to be seated right away. The music and vibe was great for brunch. They had a live DJ playing all the current hits and amazing throwbacks. There was both outdoor and indoor seating ( you can hear the music from the outside) The drink was good ( I had a pineapple mimosas pitcher) I had chicken and waffles but didn't love the blueberry on it or the chicken. It was basically chicken bites and I don't think they were cooked properly. read more

Terrible service and the place stunk. Prioritized only a certain group of people if you catch my drift. Don't go here if you are a poc.

I don't typically write reviews, but after our recent visit to Wicked Willy's NYC, I feel compelled to share our experience so that others can make informed decisions about visiting this establishment. My partner and I stopped in for what we hoped would be a relaxed and enjoyable date night--grab a drink, share a meal, and catch the Love Island watch party advertised. Unfortunately, what unfolded was one of the most unsettling and disappointing dining experiences I've ever encountered. Upon arrival, we were informed that food was required in order to be seated, which was perfectly reasonable. However, when we were shown to our table, it had not been cleaned. We politely requested it be wiped down, but were first told to wait while a head count was conducted. After a second reminder, a staff member eventually cleaned the table. We began by ordering a margarita pitcher and placed a food order shortly thereafter. Roughly 25-30 minutes later, we noticed multiple cockroaches crawling on the ceiling above us. Alarmed and uncomfortable, we politely requested to cancel our food order, explaining the reason to our server. Despite this, the food was brought to our table about 10 minutes later. We reiterated that we had already cancelled due to the pest issue and expressed that we were no longer comfortable eating under those conditions. At this point, a woman--who identified herself as management--approached us. When I calmly repeated our concerns, she stated that we would still be required to pay for half the food because "it was already made," adding that it was "unfair" to the kitchen. We explained that we had communicated with our server well in advance of the food's arrival and that, under the circumstances, we did not believe it was reasonable to be charged. Rather than de-escalate the situation or show any understanding, the woman became confrontational, accused us of "taking advantage" of the venue because we were still using the glassware, and insisted we either pay for everything or leave. When I asked for a moment to discuss our options with my partner, she returned shortly after and curtly stated, "If you feel uncomfortable, leave." She followed up with, "People are here to sit, watch, and eat. If you aren't going to eat, you need to get up or go." Despite her hostility, we remained calm and offered several reasonable solutions: pay for the drinks, relinquish our table, or leave entirely. But instead of resolving things amicably, she escalated the matter by calling security. We were told that the police were being contacted, which we welcomed at that point, believing that an objective third party might help diffuse the situation. What followed was completely disproportionate: four NYPD officers entered the restaurant to address a dispute over food we had not eaten--after expressing concern about visible pests in the dining area. The officers, to their credit, were professional and respectful. However, the fact that our evening deteriorated to the point of a police presence was nothing short of surreal and deeply humiliating. Following the incident, I researched other reviews and found that ours was not an isolated experience. Multiple patrons have described similar issues with poor treatment and questionable hygiene. I also learned that the woman who claimed to be management had allegedly given false information about her identity and role. As someone with experience in the hospitality industry, I fully understand how challenging service environments can be. But nothing excuses the rudeness, dishonesty, and aggressive behavior we encountered. Rather than address a health and safety concern with care and professionalism, the staff responded with hostility and intimidation. If cockroaches are openly visible in the dining area, one can only imagine what conditions exist in the kitchen. This was not simply a case of poor service--it was a fundamental failure of accountability, cleanliness, and basic respect for guests. I hope this review serves as a cautionary account for others considering a visit to Wicked Willy's. What should have been a lighthearted night out became one of the most disturbing experiences we've ever had in a public space. read more

Went to brunch this past weekend and this time I actually got to use my pulsd. To my surprise the food was good. I had the chicken bites and waffels, and my friend had the avocado smash: she said it was good. My chicken was well seasoned and the compote on the waffel with the honey sauce meshed well. We were only able to get one carafe per two people and the Spritz didn't taste like anything but seltzer water. However; the mimosa and the pineapple mint are good. I like carafe the pineapple mint is used in. A couple of things that bugged me is, the place was fairly busy when I get there by not too much. The hostess sat me down, then my friend came but no one came to our table, I had to ask the hostess for a waitress; when the girls were just huddling in the corner giggling. Even after she asked one to tend to us, I had to ask a second time. And I'm confused as to why they have to hold a card if I have a paid pulsd. And the biggest thing was the bright light that was shown us I guess to indicate our time was up, but it was empty by 4 pm; so why????!!! It was very annoying. As if they're kicking us out. Other than that food was good, dj was good, nice place, nice decor, drinks are good. But please refrain from shining that light on people. Even we wanted to stay for extra drinks they light pretty much told us, It's Time To Go! read more

In NYC during the World Cup and just happened to pass by this place. It advertised the games all over the outside and when you went in, TVs surrounding the entire place were tuned in to the match. As the first table of the day you expect that your food won't take 30 minutes and that you will have place settings, get coffees when you ask for them, as well as refills on your water. If you come to this place don't expect any of those things. Our waitress seems to have never waitressed before she had many missteps ib Including, bringing coffee without sugar, checking on the food and then not checking back with the table to let them know what's happening with the food that's taking over 30 minutes. One person on the staff eating standing by the front door shoveling food into their faces is also a hard no. Unless you need to sit down, keep walking. The chicken and waffles were greasy and Soggy and gross. On the upside I will say the brioche French toast was delicious and that's why they got two stars instead of one. read more
