I was on a six hour road trip and I happen to be driving through Stevens Point so I googled a health food restaurant that I could get something good to eat. I am so gladI found Wicked Willow! Their food is incredibly delicious. I started with the Fire Lettuce Wraps and they were flavorful and amazing. Then I had the pad Thai with tofu and it was just as flavorful and delicious! The service was friendly and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I cannot wait until am passing through again! We drove down from Wausau to try Wicked Willow. Loved the eclectic feel of the restaurant! The wait staff was prompt and nice. Husband had the Goulash which was excellent! The portion was huge! I plan to make this at home! :) I ordered Korean Tofu Fried Rice from the special menu. It was delicious. If I could have changed one thing the tofu would have been crispy. Wicked Willow is not just the first Vegan restaurant I know of in central Wisconsin. It's also a sign of the times. Plant free entrees are healthier and more delicious than ever, and the chefs at WW have delicious proof. I had the beyond burger with farmer cheese, smoked cheese, meatless bacon and chipotle sauce. I hereby testify that this is the best burger I've ever had. (Ever!) My only suggestion would be to cycle the "soup du jour" more often. Taylor was my server. Not only does she enjoy making visitors happy, but she's clearly passionate about Vegan food. Anytime a place like WW opens I fret about it's survival. It's the only vegan restaurant in the area, but that doesn't mean the good folks at Wicked Willow skimp on flavor, variety, or customer service. Visited this vegan restaurant for the first time on Saturday evening. They closed at 8 which I think seems a little early, but for a smaller town it makes more sense. The interior is very quaint, and thrift store like with the decor, but the food was very good. I've never eaten an all vegan meal before but I was surprised at how real it tasted. I have been coming here for about 1 year now. Every single time, I've had nothing but the freshest food possible. Their fruit is always tasty, rarely if ever, too tart to eat. Their salads are always crunchy. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their ingredients. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have not had one negative experience with the wait staff. I have been to a handful of vegan restaurants and Wicked Willow is by far, one of the best in Wisconsin. There isn't a single on the menu that is some far-out vegan experiment that only certain vegans will eat. The ambiance is laid back, cozy and friendly. If you ever make it here and you're not sure what to order, four meals that are guaranteed to draw you back are the chili, mac and cheese, the burger and the 9-layer nachos. I often bring non-vegan family members here and they chow down one of these four without a second thought. The only setback is that it is on the pricey end. It's been over a year since Wicked Willow has been open and I wanted to update my review because they are KILLING IT now and have easily become my favorite restaurant in town. They now have later hours (thank you! thank you! thank you!) and the waitstaff is fantastic! I've even brought some non vegans here and they've loved it! The nachos are a great idea for a first timer and the portion is HUGE, but personally I can't get enough of the Pad Thai and the Gyros. I only have one suggestion; please consider opening early on farmers market days for a cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich....I would be in heaven! read more

4 stars for overall experience but the food was truly flavorful could be 5 stars. I had the roasted vegetable salad with carrot dressing, which was excellent and a very nice size portion. I also received a cup of corn chowder, which I enjoyed. It had refreshing flavor that did not feel heavy. My husband had a Tofu Benedict and a Mushroom Benedict with hollandaise sauce. The flavor was wonderful the sauce very rich and "buttery". The portion was small and not enough for my guy. The tofu seemed lightly seared and we both felt it should have been seared a little longer. The mushroom was the way to go it was EXCELLENT! The issues- the waitress Ana although friendly she needs some assistance with cleanliness. Picking up dirty things and touching clean at the same time. She brought us our water glasses with her fingers on the top of the glass and left smudges where we would drink. Ok so I asked for straws which she brought uncovered straws, in fact the straws were like steel. Although some may feel this is different and interesting, we could not drink our water due to he fact that I don't think a person can get these straws clean enough. My thought just get some wrapped straws and give a few tips to the waitress. And yes we will return here. Most likely it's growing pains with a new business. And we look forward to seeing how this place blossoms. So thankful this vegan has awesome food to eat right downtown. read more

The food was alright. We were excited for a vegan restaurant in one of our favorite cities. We ordered the mushroom Benedict... very few mushrooms, just a pretty small dish for a big price. My first visit I got the goulash, which was a good portion, though nothing I can't make at home for far less money. My second visit, I got a grilled sandwich. It was a small thing, the bread was ordinary, and the bottom was soggy. No sides included. My third visit I got the fireman's potatoes. I totally want this restaurant to succeed! I know that the Mushroom Benedict is totally fab, because I tasted my daughter's portion of that dish. That said, I've had two disappointing experiences here. On my first visit I got the Tempeh Reuben sandwich. It was so sweet I could hardly eat it. On the second visit I got the BBQ sandwich with potato salad. Again, super sweet. It was like vegan crumbles in pancake syrup. And the potato salad had undercooked, crunchy potatoes. I could not eat that either, so ordered a bowl of the corn chowder. It was okay; again, very sweet (what is it with the overriding sweetness, guys?!!) and the carrots were nearly raw. It makes me sad that people who come in for their first experience with vegan food get the impression that it should taste like those dishes taste. I'm disappointed because I've been cooking vegan for 25 years, so I have some idea how stuff should taste. There is a way to make a killer, creamy, 'eggy' potato salad. There is a way to make yummy, tangy BBQ sloppy joe sandwiches. There is a way to add depth of flavor to things and avoid just plain bland or sweet. If you're going to run a vegan restaurant, could you please get a little technique? And for petessake, cook the dang vegetables through! Especially in a soup. I'm hoping that the chef continues to grow in skill and maybe looks to get some more training. Hey, I'll share tips if you like: like how to get the 'beefy' taste, the 'bacon-y' taste and the 'chicken-y' taste using no meat whatsoever.
