Don't get me wrong, I like apple cider donuts just fine, but let me level with you...I would pick a caramel apple over a donut any day. We were in Stevens Point for other reasons and decided to stop by Casey's Orchard to see if they had any caramel apples. There were signs directing us to the little store they have on their property. We went inside and found a friendly older couple in there, and the air was perfumed with the aroma of fresh apples. We were offered a sample of any of the apples, and the only one we decided to try was winesap. We bought a handful of the winesap apples and lo and behold, they did have a case with some petite caramel apples in it, so we bought two of those as well. The caramel had formed a crispy shell around the apple, and it made for a nice treat. The whole purchase set us back about $5. The cash only shop carries apples, apple cider (but they were out when we visited), honey, jams and jellies, maple syrup and pumpkins.

So Saturday morning, after the "running question" my cohort and I stopped at Copps on Church St. We chose a lovely array of a dozen + doughey goodnesses. They did not disappoint. Now, I know what you're thinking, Is there really a bad donut... hell yes there is and these were not them. They were supremely fresh, and down right incredible. So Sunday rolls around and I realize that my donut fix has not been fully satisfied. So I promptly got in my car and drove to the Plover location for another stunning variety of donuts. This trip was about 3.5 hours later than the previous days pick up and I wondered if the freshness could be topped. Once again, the donut were nothing less than stellar! Really. Run, don't walk to your nearest Copps, in any Wisconsin city for a donut of your choice. I believe that the consistency would not disappoint -The nice thing about having a business with many locations. Stevens Point/ Plover/ Whiting doesn't need a stand alone bakery as long as Copps is makin' the donuts...

Kwik Trip has some of the cleanest bathrooms of any gas station that I have been to. When ever I'm traveling I stop at a Kwik Trip to use the bathroom. The food that they have is also really good. The staff is always friendly and greets you with a smile, and will do anything to go out of their way to see that you are pleased with the service. I also like that Kwik Trip regularly has discounted or free offerings through their Kwik Club text program. I always see myself coming in when I get a text offering from Kwik Trip

Half the customers and 1/3 of the employees were not wearing them. I am not a mask fan, don't get me wrong, but take the mandatory signs down if it is not going to be enforced or followed. Beer, winecoolers, and cigarettes are priced lower here than in most grocery stores. They have fresh Donuts here as well. THE ATM'S HERE ARE NO FEE!!!! They are open 24 hours a day and have lot's of gas pumps. And from what I've read in the news paper, the owners pay and compensate their workers at this small chain of gas stations well. I tend to believe this is true because they seem to have some workers that have been here for a long time. So that's nice too :-)
