I would understand if there was under staffing but they seemed to have plenty of staff, however only one was making sandwiches. Typically I love Firehouse and have a great experience, that was not the reputation they presented today. After getting the sandwich we are able to give 2 stars because the sandwich was really good as they always are. Still disappointed in the experience though.

Our presence was acknowledged and one of the employees immediately offered to take our order. I like how there were a few people in the back working diligently the orders. It took about 5-10 minutes to make 5 sandwiches. It came out warm. My sandwich looked awesome. It wasn't messy and easy to eat. Compared to the Subway sandwiches that drips when I take bites, the bread was a hearty, more dense that captured the juices. The meatball was juicy and the marinara sauce had a tang. I enjoyed mine. The other people in my group enjoyed theirs too. My husband's was messier to eat. He felt like it was just ok. Overall, it was a very filling sandwich. The floor and tables were a bit messy. The tables needed to be wiped down and the floors had crumbs all over but it's ok, we hopped back to D1 to continue with our evening and ate our dinner there.

When you consider the food prices, the credit card fee, and the taste of the food itself, it's hard to even give this place 3 out of 5 stars and call it "average." I hate giving lower reviews, especially to smaller businesses, but this place needs some work. I'm going to write the kind of honest review I wish I would have seen before going here. To start, the prices are quite high. For what they're charging, I expected much better food. On top of that, they also charge a credit card fee, which means they are passing that cost onto the customer in addition to the high menu prices. That alone is an immediate negative for me. The ambience of the place itself isn't bad. It's a larger restaurant, and the curved door and circular shape are actually kind of cool. It's also cool having TVs all around. We were there on a Saturday night, and it was pretty slow. That said, if the locals have been here before, I can understand why it was slow, given the food quality and prices. I got the 1/2 Tequila BBQ Burger, and it was pretty boring. I can make much better burgers at home. It needed better seasoning, or really just any seasoning at all. The tequila bbq sauce was fine, but it mostly tasted like very sweet barbecue sauce. I got waffle fries with my order, and they were also just fine. Someone else at our table got the beer-battered fries, and those were much better. I do want to give them credit there. The beer-battered fries were actually quite good. I asked my wife and sister what they thought of their meals, and both of them were incredibly disappointed. My wife got a salad with chicken, and it was very boring. Again, it was something we could make better at home for cheaper. My sister got the salmon, and she was not impressed at all. I read through some of the other reviews, and I think a lot of them may be from locals, whereas I was just visiting town. But I agree with many of the negative points people have made, and I've already said it here: the food just isn't good, especially considering the prices they're charging. I'd recommend looking for a different restaurant in the area. If management happens to read this review, I think they could improve things by reviewing the quality of the food they're serving and working to improve the overall taste. Otherwise, they should consider lowering prices to better match the quality of the food. The portion sizes were good, and that is another thing I do want to give them credit for. At the end of the day, maybe we just didn't order the right things, but no one at our table enjoyed their meal enough to want to go back. This place needs a lot of work, and I hope they have better success in the future. Next time we are in town, though, we will be going somewhere else.

I definitely had better cheese curds in Wisconsin. For dessert I had the concrete mixer with cheesecake pieces and it was phenomenal. Now at this point my tummy was on fire but I didn't care. I ate every last bite of my food. Now I am used to eating past fullness. It hurts but it usually goes away. When I tell you I went to bed in pain and STILL woke up the next morning in pain, that was uncharacteristic. Apparently consuming all that dairy can do that? I don't know. Honestly my first thought was that it tasted like a whopper with cheese but the burger patty didn't have the charbroiled flavor depth that the whopper has. Overall I liked it and I would do a burger here again on the road or out of town when I have access to the restaurant.

I have to throw it away as I said I cannot eat it. The first time I let it slide as the line was super long and I chalked it up to them being busy. This last time though they were not as busy and the big mac box had my receipt (shown) that clearly states no bun attached to it with a bun on the sandwich. The manager was super nice and allowed for me to get a new one the next day for the mix up. I think if there is a special request they should take more time to ensure it's correct.
