We stopped here on our way back from Blackwater Falls. The town in general was packed with tourists, and we chose to eat here because it was one of the few places with dine-in options, if not the only place. It wasn't as busy as I expected it to be, but service was still a little slow. Our waitress was decent, though, even if she could've come through a bit more often. Showed up one evening with our dogs and the staff was fantastic. They treated us and our dogs like family, even brought them water while we ate. To top it all off the food was very good. I had the chicken pot pie, my girlfriend had the spaghetti. The brownie and the cheesecake was also very good. Definitely check this place out, they make you feel at home. read more

We had the Fish and Chips and the Supreme Pizza and enjoyed both meals very much. While the customer service was good and friendly, the food my wife and I received was sub-par. My chicken alfredo was dry... Not even alfredo sauce which is simple to make from scratch and the chicken was overcooked leaving it dry and tough. My wife's pot pie wasn't heated enough leaving the potatoes cold on the inside. Overall the food was bland as well. I will not be returning as this was probably the worst dining experience I have had in many years. read more

If you are a tourist in the town of Davis, WV and looking for an establishment to have a few drinks this may be your place. My family and friends visited this restaurant tonight with the expectation of a good meal and a wonderful new experience. I am sorry to say that we left without looking back. Our waitress was kind but not eager. She did and would not ask anyone in our group if they needed anything else nor sis she refill empty glasses of soda. When we finally asked for a refill of Coke, we received yet another flat drink and wait for it...........WITHOUT ICE. Next, our party of 8 was split into two parties of 4, or two families. When we ordered our food it was communicated clearly to this woman that we were on 2 separate checks. After eating our less than average portions of food that was not even warm, she brought one check to our table. When asked why, she responded that the establishment allows only one check per table. This is absolutely ridiculous. Even though this staple is listed on the restaurant's menu, when we communicated our order to her initially, she had every opportunity to tell our party or explain to us that this was their policy. I would highly recommend employee training and morale in services at your establishment. This waitress, who did not even tell us her name should not be delegated to work as a service provider without further action. It was apparent that she either did not like her job or did not have the desire to be doing what she was hired to do. I understand that this is a tourist area; however, the heart of every business is the patronage of each and every customer. It is disappointing to have experienced disrespect on a weekend that was to be filled with good times for future memories. As a management employee at this restaurant it would behoove you to educate each current and new employee of the value of customer service. read more

We are visiting the area for the first time, and happened to stop by here. I'm soooo glad we did! The service was friendly and prompt. The food was prepared well and tasted delicious. Our family of 7 were vacationing in Canaan Valley. We got on Yelp to find a spot to eat. We have some dietary needs like Gluten and Dairy Free so we like to find variety. We landed with this place. It took a little while for someone to seat us and she would only sit us at a large table even though the place was quite empty. We wanted near the fireplace. The waitress was great and attentive to our requests. We loved the food. Everything was very good and we were able to have the pork and chicken sandwiches without the rolls. The lasagna looked amazing. The homemade chips and salsa were a hit. The kids loved the pretzel appetizer (we had two). The atmosphere was cozy. We would recommend and come here again. read more

Horrible service and food terrible. Hour and 45 minute wait for a kids pizza, salmon cakes, and chicken pot pie. No refill on drinks after a couple asks. Salmon cakes were 95% filling 5% salmon. Smoke from the kitchen filled the entire restaurant due to poor hood function. The local bar customers come in, get recognized by name and get service immediately. Found this place last summer, and came back while skiing. What a great place. Atmosphere was nice, large size so I didn't feel cramped like other places in town, and the music was great. We got the reuben rolls to start and they were unique but delicious. My wife got the shrimp scampi and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. I got the Chicken pot pie and while the presentation is definitely different, you could tell it was home cooked and awesome. We finished off the meal with a funnel cake because, why not? Who has funnel cakes in restaurants these days? The bar was crowded and people seemed to be having a good time. We have been coming to Davis for years and like trying new local spots. After a long day of cross country skiing, we decided to grab some lunch and beers at Wicked Wilderness. We came in with a group of 15 around 4pm and took up most of the bar area. They were so accommodating and didn't mind that we were all over the place! The food was really good as well. We wandered in here because there was parking available. We were skeptical because it's a "pub and parlor," but we don't drink. Man, were we glad we stopped. Everything here is homemade and delicious! I had the chicken pot pie. It comes in a squat mason jar with a biscuit sitting on top. The biscuit alone was worth the price, but the chicken and veggies were phenomenal. Dessert was a real-deal funnel cake with strawberries and whipped cream on top. My only regret is that we're leaving Davis tomorrow and I can't go back and try anything else. read more

But suggested we squeeze in to a table if we wanted to sit together. So we sat together and squeezed in. The service from our waitress was great her name is Chelsey. My wife and I arrived at the restaurant at 8 pm on Friday 10/9/2020. We stood at the 'Please wait to be seated' sign for 10 minutes and watched three staff members do everything, except acknowledge us, including one staff member who was busily chatting with customers at a table right next to where we were standing. We'll never know how the food or service was because we left with a bad taste in our mouths from our disappointing visit. My friends and I recently visited Wicked Wilderness Pub in Davis and it was fabulous! From the appetizers and drinks to the meals and desserts we enjoyed everything we tasted. We each ordered something different from the menu and all meals were delicious. The food was cooked perfectly and portion sizes were great. The winter decor was beautiful throughout the restaraunt. Our waitress was fun and attentive. There was a great band playing with such talented musicians. It was lively and fun but not too loud so we could still talk with each other. The proprietors were friendly and gracious, checking on patrons, chatting with locals and making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Wicked Wilderness is a definite "must do" destination. Do not eat here. If desperate go to the Shop n' Save and buy cheese and crackers and eat it in your car. I guarantee that would be a better meal and experience. Here's a few guidelines for the staff: Get people seated at tables that suit the size of their party. Stop dragging chairs around creating a racket. Tune the music down- people like to talk in restaurants. Make sure you don't start out by saying which items you do not have- instead get this items and keep them in stock. Give out menus for both drinks and food at the same time. Make sure sodas are carbonated. Make sure chicken sandwiches are not dry like sawdust. Put the condiments on the sandwiches as requested. Do not serve wilted lettuce. Don't serve the stem area of the tomato. In short- go next door or across the street to eat. You are so near actual good food- go there! read more
