They are tasty as served, but each table has an assortment of six sauces from sweet to savory, as if they needed embellishment. There were a few dirty tables but we managed to find a clean one. We waited for our water, and we didn't know we were supposed to get our own. When we picked up our food order, we asked for two waters, and they pointed to where the glasses were. I don't know why I even tipped if we had no service except our food being cooked. We shared the combo platter, which we enjoyed, but it was nothing to rave about. I also ordered the mac and cheese as one of the sides and was upcharged. It was good bbq, but the prices are up there for the amount of food you get. The ribs were good but a little bland. The pulled pork was tender but still a little bland. What did impress me were the array of southern style, vinegar and mustard base sauces at the table. Oh my goodness! I loved their sauces and haven't had mustard and vinegar sauces outside of South Carolina in years! It made my meal and great job on the sauces! I gave four stars just for that. I ordered a whole slab of ribs $33 + and slaw close to $50, my complaint was that they did not prepare these ribs as they were probably taken out of the package and thrown into a microwave! They were tough, cold and tasted like the slab of ribs that you can buy at Albertsons( probably the same brand but $20 cheaper) The previous two complaints were being overcharged twice. Whole Hog has been our favorite bbq joint. Over the last 3 weeks we have ordered from there twice. Two weeks ago we ordered our usual baby back ribs and some sides. The food was excellent until we opened up our favorite bbq sauce. It was loaded with Cayenne peppers and was completely un-edible. With a dab of bbq sauce on the tongue, I violently choked and spit it out. The heat caused hiccups and I felt nauseous. Today we ordered our usual and after taking home the order. We discovered that they didn't put in the bag one of our sides. I tip very well ever time I go in and I leave at least $3 to $4 on pickup orders. I know times are tough, but this kind of service is unacceptable. I'm paying for stuff I can't eat or don't get. It's almost as if this New Year started with an agreement among the restaurants to lower their customer service standards so as not to create competition. That's literally the only explanation I can think of. My husband has been craving Whole Hog since last night so we first drove to the one near us (Central location) and arrived 45 minutes prior to closing but were locked out despite there still being diners inside because they decided to close early. We then drove all the way to this location to find that they were all out of sausage and that we couldn't stay for my husband to eat his food in the restaurant because they also had decided to close an hour early (8:00 pm instead of 9:00 pm). This is my biggest pet peeve ever. People check websites before making lengthy drives to spend good money on your food. And it was the same three groups of people who followed us into this location who came from the Central location. This is pure laziness as it's clear that the demand is there as the employees were all sitting around on their cell phones. What happened to actually wanting to earn your paycheck? We ordered the Brisket plate. The brisket was tough. It was served on a paper lined tray which came apart while cutting the brisket, we had to pick bits of paper from our food.
