They do great custom work, but he recommended a kit I could order online, noting Summit had it in stock and that it would be a cheaper S solution for what I needed. I was able to order it and have it shipped overnight to the shop, and it arrived shortly after 10 AM. They installed it and did a little custom work, and I picked it up early that afternoon. They did excellent work, and my truck looks and sounds great. It's a good, honest shop, and they charged me a very fair price for the work they did. I had a very tight schedule, and was surprised how quickly they were able to fit me in and get the work done. I took my 2018 Jeep Wrangler here yesterday, 9/25/24, to get it inspected because of good reviews and close to work. The mechanic told me he would have to fail me unless I had the STOCK headlights replaced because they lacked a VDOT symbol on the cover. This was a LIE. They cannot fail a vehicle for STOCK equipment that is functioning properly. I told him this and he insisted that "they are cracking down." He said this three times when I challenged him. I then went to Hogan and Sons in South Riding, VA., where I live, and it passed. Our business will never bring our vehicles anywhere else to be repaired. These people are direct, honest, fair and above all, a pleasure to work with. We discovered them a couple months ago. We've now had 2 vehicles serviced by them (very reasonable prices and excellent workmanship!). I was just told, by a Ford Dealership, that another one of our vehicles (still under warranty) needs to have a Fuel Induction (never heard of it) $200, and the coolant needs to be flushed (that remains to be seen) $260. I called Whitey's and was told that the Fuel Induction is a scam...first to get your $$ and then to get you back a few years later (when your warranty has expired). As I now understand it, they put something in your fuel that "cleans" the self-cleaning fuel injectors, effectively taking off the protective gel coating they're installed with, making it inevitable that you will need to have them replaced in a few years. Yes, that's right...I said "self-cleaning fuel injectors"...they don't need help. I was also told that I probably don't need my coolant flushed (also a common scam), but they're going in to check the antifreeze percentage (?), just to be sure. I'm told it will take a few seconds to check it--no appointment necessary. If it passes the test, do nothing...no charge. This is now our go-to mechanic for our company fleet of 5 vehicles. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. As a business owner, and particularly as a female dealing with mechanics, I can't over emphasize how refreshing their honesty is. Thank you, Whitey's, for your no-bull attitude. It really works for me! FYI, come with your checkbook because they don't accept credit cards (I don't blame them--we hate that we need to). UPDATE: Went in and Quentin checked the antifreeze. In the reservoir, it tested bad...mostly water. Suspicious, he checked the coolant in the actual radiator. It passed with flying colors. Nothing at all wrong with it. Fresh and no need to flush. The only way that the stuff in the reservoir could be mostly water is if someone added water to it (so that they could test it in front of me and prove to me it needed to be flushed). I'm so mad I want to spit in the Ford Mechanic's face. Quentin sucked the watery substance out of the reservoir and replaced it with fresh coolant. I asked him how much I owed and he said nothing. I told him he just saved me $460 and tried to get him to at least take $20 cash...but he adamantly refused. I love this place! Can't say enough about their integrity here. read more

My Dad & Mom like Whitey's and have been using them for ever, way before I was born, and I'm 22 years old. I was told that they are honest, which I found out for myself that they are. They do the work for a good price. Not crazy priced like those lying other places that over charge. Whitey himself is very friendly and knowledgeable. And his son too, Quentin.
