I had a strange experience here. I walked in around 12 on a week day solo. I had a meeting in the area and was starving after. Walking in it appeared the place was empty. There is no counter so I asked for a table. I ordered the Nova Scotia eggs Benedict but asked if I could get some salad instead of potatoes. I never eat the potatoes. I was told it would be an extra charge. Ok who cares. food comes and here's what I get. Luke warm poached eggs and Hollandase sauce. The salad lol..... This place looks to be remodeled. So I will review this place based on three criteria. Service, decor, quality of food. I have been to this place several times so this review will be a combination of all my visits. Service: The staff all really appear to very up beat. When it isn't busy you get attention. When they were busy they tried to pay attention and did so successfully. They provide little muffins with really delicious jam at the beginning of their service which is a great idea. Unfortunately the past two times my waitress forgot to give us the muffins. Now normally I wouldn't care, but because those muffins were so good, I had to say something. On the bright side the owner did apologize and was able to make sure that I got the muffins. Aside from the muffin mishap. I would give service individually a rating of 5 of 5. Overall I am really happy with how they service their customers. All of their staff are really friendly. Decor: this place has a very modern design. Place looks clean, and considering the small size of location, it looks like the utilized their spacing correctly. They have a backyard where they plan on opening up during the summer, so when that happens I would like to see what they make of it. Tables have marble tops which gives it a clean kitchen counter look. They have a small bar at the register, so they serve alcoholic drinks. Perfect for those who like their mimosas for brunch. 4 out of 5 Food quality: like I mentioned above, those muffins are good enough to complain for. I have ordered their Mexican burger, regular burger, and western omelette. The Mexican burger has a lot of guacamole, which makes it tough to eat the burger since it gets a bit messy, but it was delicious nonetheless. The way they cooked it was perfect to order. I have not had an issue with the way they cooked their food all the times I have been there and I hope it stays that way. Any mistakes in food they will go above and beyond to fix, which adds to their level of service, because let's be real, people make mistakes, it's how you resolve it that makes the difference. 4 of 5 So my rating overall is a 4 which is good because I am very picky about places. I am glad I discovered this place because I used to go to the "cozy" diner and was not too impressed, but only continued to go there because I thought it was the only diner in the area. read more

Considering the price point, I would expect this diner to be much better. The food is generally not seasoned properly. For example, I have to often add salt and pepper to my home fries or use ketchup (proof of lack of balance) The pancakes here are OK and the french toast is pretty terrible. I expect more custardy consistency from my french toast. The coffee is pretty moldy (look up the coffee tasters wheel) and oxidized. The one redeeming quality is the mini muffins. I would come just to eat the mini muffins every breakfast. I would look elsewhere. read more

Food is good, the omelette was stuffed even though I added two ingredients (usually a dinner will skimp out if you add something to a specialty - 1$ per addition). Careful they serve expired beer! To be honest they had no clue beer expires, would hate to know how they store their wines! read more

The Whitestone Diner is one of my favorite diners. Their pancakes, waffles, eggs, burgers, everything rocks here. I also love their coffee as well. It's hidden in Whitestone Queens, If you can find it, you'll love it. It's right off the cross Island down the block from Carvel. What a great little place. read more

Been coming here for breakfast for a few years - love the Huevos Rancheros. Service is always good & the staff is friendly. The outside/covered eating area in the back is a bonus during Covid. Parking is metered all around in a busy area of Whitestone so its a pain on the weekend but doable. read more

I happened to come in here one afternoon because I was getting my car serviced right next-door and just wanted something small I was seated right away and it's a miniature size diner or at least from what I saw I didn't give the place a full walk-through and kind of sat right up front but like I said I was serviced pretty quickly the menu kind of threw me off because I expected a little bit more smaller portions and cheaper prices I mean almost everything was $15 and up and I mean everything including salad. Things almost seems unreasonable to the point where I didn't really want to order anything . two eggs and potatoes was eight dollars with bacon it was 10 avocado toast was 13 I mean 2 eggs for eight dollars just doesn't sound right ....almost wanted to just go home and cook my own eggs for that amount. And the reviews here were also a 50-50 so I decided to just bear with it on something that I really wanted to eat and carry-on because I also didn't want something to huge because I wasn't that hungry and was also trying to find something that fits my diet since I am not really doing carbs (I know I don't isn't a great choice for that but I didn't have many choices to pick from to begin with.)I went ahead and skipped breakfast options and got a sandwich and it was actually pretty good I wasn't disappointed and I ordered coffee and was happy with my meal only thing that was hard was the prices but maybe the area and the rent is high who knows I would go there if I had to in a pinch but for the prices since I live in the area it was a little bit too much for me I ended up ordering two more things to go for my husband and a friend and they enjoy their food as well so safe to say the food tastes good. Came for breakfast have to say the eggs were pretty good, but the hashbrowns could have been fried up more. Sad that they never came back to refill my coffee and did not like that they did not offer real jelly for the toast. Being away from home and sick sometimes has you searching for places to order in. The last thing you want is a place to misrepresent what they sell, but I've been to this diner before and have enjoyed it, so I placed an order on GrubHub after doing a google search for fresh squeezed orange juice. Sad to say that when my order arrived I was disappointed to find that their orange juice was NOT freshly squeezed. While many can't tell the difference, I am a natural practitioner and regularly squeeze my own orange juice -- in fact, it's the only juice I drink. When this was brought to the diner's attention they refused to refund the $10 charged for the OJ. I think this place needs a reality check about what fresh squeeze OJ looks and tastes like -- this was not it. read more

The absolute worst service. They shouldn't have delivery as an option as it always takes over an hour (I live 4 blocks away). They're rude, nasty and arrogant if you call for the status of your food. I was hesitant to get delivery since haven't had a good experience. But was forced to since my kids were sick and my husband had the car.I'm so happy I tried. The driver who's name is Ernie was so efficient and great personality. If you like paying manhattan prices in queens this is definitely your place. 18 dollars for a cheeseburger and fries, 12 dollars for an omelette, 3 dollars for a can of soda, they nickel and dime you for anything down to a slice of tomato regardless of how much business you give them. They have a 20 dollar minimum, a 2 dollar delivery fee, then on top of that the guy actually wants a tip! I ate here a lot at one point but I'll never be back. Very expensive diner for the amount of food you get, this changed recently as i used to love their Grilled Chicken Salads and not mind paying the extra dollar for getting a delicious salad. this was my go to place for Lunch, not anymore! First off they missed 2 toppings mentioned in the menu from my salad, also my oil and vinegar dressing was 90% Oil and 10% vinegar opposed to 50/50 which is the safest bet, if they weren't sure. I mean c'mon. The reason for the 1 star is because when I called to tell them they had made some mistakes, I got yelled at for it!!! what happened to the customer is always right, in this case I happen to be right! So I used to go to IHOP for breakfast and I now realize what a mistake that was. The food there tastes like cardboard, nothing like this place. THE FOOD HERE IS AMAZING!!! we ordered the lumberjack breakfast and the meat lovers omelette for a Mother's Day breakfast and it was sooo good. The delivery (through eat 24) came early/fresh, there were kind enough to include paper plates, napkins and other condiments and the food portion was huge which was awesome!! Service was very friendly, food was pretty good. They had a nice salad special with shrimp that my mom ordered and it wasn't with those baby shrimp which was nice. I got a greek wrap which was good. CONSUMER BEWARE!! THIS PLACE IS FUCKIN DISGUSTING AND SO IS THE MANAGER!! Me and my girlfriend went in for 2 burgers. THEY SMELLED LIKE FEET!! We were nice enough to let the waitress know something funky was going on. She took away FULL plates from us with a few bites into these shit smelling burgers. This douchebag manager comes up and starts trying to convince me nothings wrong. This diner is the best diner I've been to, period. The interior is nice and clean. Their burger's are fantastic, nicely cooked and taste fresh. Their fries are to die for, crispy and hot! I like the fact that this diner is always consistent and never disappoints. I've also tried their spinach pie, which was a first and it was quite scrumptious. Passed by this diner several times in the past on my way to Spa Castle. After recent renovations, decided to give it a try. Arrived on Sunday evening just shy of 7pm and Valet Parking Attendant was nowhere to be found. Easily got a spot on the street anyway. Extremely cordial greeeting. The front of the diner was warm, the back of the diner was freezing cold. We were seated back there. They had a "Help Wanted" sign in the window and our waitress was practically serving the entire diner! Despite this, our service was acceptable and our waitress' happy mood was certainly uplifting. Gazpacho soup was excellent and Broiled Cod was excellent. Salad that came with my dining partner's entree was just OK (too many large pieces) and my other dining partner's burger was medium well rather than medium. But, considering the prices, I'd definately return! read more

Save yourself the headache and money and do not eat or order from this restaurant. They will screw up your order, giving you the wrong item or including the wrong ingredients in your dish and if you question them they will justify it instead of apologizing and trying to make it right. This was the second time this happened to me after ordering take out from this diner so there is definitely a pattern, it wasn't simply a mistake on a bad day. The manager, John, is arrogant as can be, yelling at me and suggesting that I contact Yelp directly myself to correct the diners menu instead of taking it upon himself to fix the issue with the restaurant he manages. I ordered from this place on seamless and the order was supposed to arrive in 30-45 minutes. After 30 minutes I received a call that they were out of one of the items that I wanted . Then they told me that it was going to be another hour to deliver. When I questioned them they said that Bayside was too far away for them to deliver . I am giving them the two because if you take the order and are listed on seamless then you should deliver , and if you don't what to deliver don't wait 1/2 hour to let the person know . Unfortunately, this is not a good review. My girlfriend and I went for breakfast on a Saturday morning in the beginning of August. To start, I asked for a cappuccino and the waiter was hesitant to say yes, we have and made a face when talking about the milk. (I couldn't figure out what was going on but i sure realized it the rest of the day.) I ordered the cappuccino against my judgement as well as 2 eggs, oatmeal and a smoothie. My gf ordered a belgium waffle with chocolate chips. My cappuccino came first. with no spoon. Okay, no big deal. My oatmeal came out next. I asked for cinnomon and brown sugar on the side. It took about 10 minutes and me reminding the waiter to get those two things on the table. Finally, the food arrives. The eggs tasted way too buttery and I still have not gotten my smoothie. My girfriend thought the waffle tasted a bit funny. All while this was going on, I see a full table of people behind us begging for a waiter to come along. Once the waiter came over to them, 2 of their burgers had to be sent back. I wasn't surprised at that point. I was actually just ready to get out of there. Once we were finished eating, the owner, I assume, comes over to the table with the smoothie that I, at that point, forgot that i even ordered. We get the check and I look over the receipt and I was a bit surprised abt the pricing of the 2 eggs; almost $8. I walk up to the woman in the front and I ask why the eggs cost so much. The owner comes along and says that the price is normal and that I had fresh organic eggs (lol) with home fries and toast. the home fries i never asked for and I never even got the toast. So the owner ended up taking the shake off the bill after throwing the waiter under the bus saying it was the waiters fault that he didn't see it on the counter once it was made. (lol) The rest of the day, my gf and I had horrendous stomach aches to the point that she actually called and asked for a complete refund which is very uncharacteristic of her(us) since we both have worked in the food industry but it had to be done.
