Old school styled deli open 24 hours. Serving up some of the best sandwiches in NYC . I stopped by After 3am this morning. My husband and I took a late night drive, and afterwards wanted something to eat . I ordered the Patriot sandwich on a roll. It consisted of steak, bacon, mozerella, mustard, mayo and cheddar cheese. The sandwich was 20/10. It was fresh, cheesy and very meaty lol. They have all different types of sandwiches, with cool NYC names lol. You place your order, pay then step back and wait for it. My sandwich was done fairly fast, being there was a small crowd. If ever your in the area, and want a great sandwich I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place .

Beast with French fries added :)

So delicious. Easy parking. Unlimited delicious snacks and beverages throughout the deli. Freshly made cake slices and bakery items! Service was fast, guys were super helpful Ambiance was great, place was so clean and well kept

Small deli located in Whitestone. Staff are always friendly and it's relatively quick to get your food. Prices are decent and the food is amazing. I've never gotten a sandwich from here that I did not like. If I'm in the area, I love stopping by and trying something new!

Growing up, everyone knew about Cherry Valley. I've been coming here since high school and people visit here because it's 24/7 and had delicious sandwiches. Their menu is overwhelming because they have a million different options for sandwiches. But in recent years (maybe within the last 2 years) it doesn't hit the spot anymore. Their chicken cutlet isn't as crispy and fresh anymore. More like it's been microwaved from frozen.

A Whitestone institution. Busy all hours of the day but especially late night. Many flock here to satisfy their hunger after a night out. Huge selection of specialty sandwiches but I usually go for a sandwich which will include chicken cutlet. They make it so much better than their friendly rival Cristina's

I've heard a lot of good things about Cherry Valley so I was excited to try. I ordered pick-up and got the the bomb on a hero. The sandwich has a little spice to it and has a creamy sauce. I liked that it had French fries alongside with the breaded chicken. The hero was a bit much for me. I couldn't finish it in one sitting. My only issue is that the napkins were so thin, I had to use several since the sandwich can get messy. Cherry Valley is good if you want an hearty sandwich which may or may not give you a heart attack!

Cherry Valley is a staple! i've been coming here my whole life and it always hits the spot. it gets pretty packed all throughout the day but it's always pretty quick. it's a standard deli in my eyes, no seating, a lot of snacks and beverages. it's a legendary spot for a reason and i will continue to push forward the cherry valley name my regular choices are: -corona -dsny but this time around i tried the verizon fios and the last call. i enjoyed them both and there were no left overs

Got 2 sandwiches (chicken Supreme and something Italian which also had chicken) and a large salad. Got the sandwiches but got SUPER HARD MADUROS instead of a large salad. The maduros were harder than sour dough bread when left out too many days and the sauce didn't do anything to soften them. I reached out to doordash for a refund on the incorrect item but they denied it. I basically ate one and threw the rest out. The sandwiches were okay. The chicken Supreme was fresh as it had the BLT toppings but I wouldn't pay more than $14 for these sandwiches. It was lacking some salt with both of the sandwiches. I tried cherry valley in the past (3 years ago) but again this year. It might be one of my last. There are alot better sandwiches out there now but I do appreciate that they are open late.

I'm always loving on this place. It's been around forever and I feel I've been coming here forever. I love the Buschman hero with their iced tea. I don't like gravy, but it's gooood

A friend recommended and we went on a weekday noon time. Easy to find street meter parking. No line upon entry. Lady in charge was friendly and helpful. We ordered four sandwiches: 1. Pastrami hero: $13.25 best tasting. Great flavor. 2. Patriotic hero: $14. Grilled steak, bacon, mozzarella cheese .... Did not disappoint! 3. Boneless rib hero: $11 it was ok. The 'rib' is like the 'rib' in McRib at McDonald's. Don't expect real rib rib. 4. Bullet hero: $13.5. Chicken cutlet was disappointing dry. Least favorite. Kitchen opens 24 hours. Only 11-4 pm get free soda or bottle water with sandwich purchase. Extra fee for credit card. So bring cash. Overall customer service was good. No waiting time standing on line. Serving time is normal. Food was overall delicious and filling. Price is not cheap but fair. Will definitely return.

They have been around since 1979, so they must be doing something right. I've never heard of this place until it was mentioned recently on Twitter by someone I follow. Anyway, it's about a block from where I see my cardiologist, so I figured next time I see him, I'll pop in over here and check them out. So today I saw my cardiologist, got a clean bill of health and decided to "celebrate" that by getting a heart clogging hero. Since I Back The Blue, I got the NYPD Hero. It's a chicken cutlet with grilled pastrami, fresh mozzarella, Russian dressing on a toasted hero. Not massive in size, but highly satisfying and quite tasty. I'll be back in six months after I see my cardiologist again, to try a different hero. '

Stay away from the chicken! Nasty! It's like frozen cutlets or something. Go anywhere else for chicken cutlets. It's NY after all.

Ask the Community - Cherry Valley Deli & Grill

Hey everyone, can someone please recommend the best sandwich to try from here? I'm not big on sauces so nothing too saucy! Thank you ❤️

Almost everything has a sauce on it and it compliments the other ingredients. Maybe try a Tuna Melt hero scooped out.

I'm also happy to report that their happy hour, though still in its early stages, is shaping up to be a solid way to give them a try. We ordered the mussels frites, fish sliders, crab bites, Brussels sprouts, and the pretzel with cheese. The absolute standouts were the fish sliders and the mussels in wine sauce. We usually get the fish and chips and mussels from the regular menu, so we had a feeling these would be the winners and they were. I'd 100% recommend both plates. We ended up ordering two rounds of fish sliders so that should say it all! :) The Brussels sprouts were roasted and simply prepared, which I really appreciated. I'm honestly over seeing fried Brussels on every menu, they're rarely that good and oily. If I could tweak anything, I'd add a sauce or drizzle for a little extra dimension, maybe balsamic or a sweet chili dip. Still, I'd absolutely order them again; they make for a great, lighter snack or side. The pretzel was pretty standard, but I liked that it didn't come salted since the cheese sauce has plenty of seasoning. It came out piping hot and stayed that way until the very last bite.  The crab bites were just okay for me. The sauce they come with is tasty, but I wish there was a little more flavor mixed into the crab itself, maybe some onions, peppers or herbs. However, they're not bad at all; they're full of crab meat and overall really solid. If you prefer a simpler flavor profile, you'll probably love them, especially with a squeeze of fresh lemon. We genuinely love Dakota's, and we'll keep coming back to enjoy the views and the great service. It's been nice seeing them evolve into a true neighborhood staple with all the events they've been hosting. Right now they're even running a toy drive, and they have toys available on site that you can purchase and drop directly into the donation box. Such a clever and thoughtful touch.  It's also worth mentioning that they're in full holiday mode right now, with decorations throughout the space. Whether you just want to soak up the festive atmosphere or snap a cute picture by the tree, they've got you covered.

We continued frequenting this spot even after new ownership as the location is ideal for the area. We've all had so many cool memories here. Hanging with friends and family, NFL Football Sunday's, St. Patrick's Day after parties. Summer Weekend Afternoon Live Music. Unfortunately Covid put a kibosh on most things and calmed the activities down somewhat. Despite the calmed down atmosphere this spot is still one of our go-to's for the occasional drink. As for the food itself, it always seemed basic and not on par with food options from back in the day. It's apparent that improvements on food are trying to be made, so good luck to them on improving. As for the staff, never any issues there, they've always been on point. Some are longtime employees, so you get to know them over the years. I would classify the food as typical bar fare with an occasional special that can be a hit or miss. Personally I am a person who find certain meat and textures off putting so I tend to enjoy more lean proteins. The pork chop in mushroom sauce special wasn't something I'd order again because I found that it had many things running through the meat. The mushroom sauce and tortellini were great and I enjoyed them very much. The Fishermans platter was also a special and I found that the fish was really dry but the shrimp and clam strips were tasty and easy to eat. I love the side salads they offer with dinner because they are plentiful and full of fresh vibrant vegetables. The balsamic is also good. Anytime I see they have mussels on the menu, I usually order them. The mussels (for the most part) are clean and not sandy. The sauces are always tasty and they serve it with some bread which is great to get all the sauce! This review is more of a 3.5 because I cant say they have amazing food but it is great food for drinks and for a casual night out. I wouldn't get too experimental on food but I do love this neighborhood staple. The view of the bridge and water aren't bad either. The staff is always quick and generally nice.

A host sat our group of three down and was very accommodating. It took a little while for them to take our drink orders, but it seemed like they were overwhelmed so it was understandable. The spicy margaritas were solid, but the lychee martini and raspberry lemon drop were not the best. We also wanted to order food and were told it would be about an hour wait. If I'm drinking, I definitely want to eat, so I asked if there was anything that could come out quicker for us to munch on. About halfway through the wait it seemed like they didn't have guac and chips, so they brought bread and butter out to a few tables. I guess that was their way of giving people something to snack on while waiting. Right before our dishes came out, one of the waitresses had us pay for what we ordered with her (a couple of waitresses were helping us). I thought that was a little tacky, she could've waited until we were done or combined the tabs since we were at the same table the whole time, not sure if that was possible. Anyways, the food was decent. We had the chicken tacos, nachos, and chicken chunks. I will say they play good music and had all the games people wanted to watch on.
