I wish I could give higher than 5 stars. I came here with my boyfriend after a trip to the LA arboretum and had SUCH an amazing experience. The service was AMAZING, they were so kind and accommodating to my low spice tolerance and were so welcoming and generous. They even gave us an iced coffee and Thai tea which were both ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The food came out so quick and had cute drawings and kind notes on them which was so unexpected and such a sweet surprise! You can tell they really love serving others and sharing their delicious food. The yellow curry with rice had SO much flavor and was such a comforting and satisfying meal. Flat out amazing. The food is rich and incredibly flavorful. I especially recommend the Tofu Salad and vegetable soup both are outstanding. The tofu salad is probably the best new dish I've had in a decade. But it's the service here that is truly unique and unusual. They remembered me after I ordered once a month prior. It was my first time and I think I don't like mock fish. It's small and looks mostly like take out so don't except much in terms of spacious plentiful indoor seating. I was in the area and actually looking for some healthier vegan food and saw this place with people eating outside and a big sign saying VEGAN THAI so I stopped. I ordered some Pad Thai to go and it was great so you're wondering why only TWO stars? My issue is (after looking at the to go menu later) that they list a price and in small print say you have to pay more for fake meat or tofu?!?!?!? WTF? (Garden Grove has a million Thai places and all are cheaper than this place) So 13.95 and I asked her if it came with tofu and she said yes. THEN I go to pay and it's 16.00 something..almost 17.00. I was hungry and they were nice so I just paid and left. I get home and looked at the menu and VIOLA...everything is priced WITHOUT the protein added AND it's in small print. WEAK SAUCE OWNERS!!! BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE. Look, if your going to advertise as VEGAN then the price would include the fake shrimp, chicken, tofu or whatever...why is every item sans protein? Lucked into finding this place today after a meeting at the Arcadia golf course and looking for a place nearby with vegan options. The menu is extensive - very extensive. Almost everything is vegan though there are a few items that are vegetarian. We ordered spring rolls, "fish" cakes, boat noodles and green curry and every item was fantastic. I've lived in CA all my life and haven't ever had a Thai place I really liked. This is the first place that is a 10/10. Everything was SO good it was insane. I will say I chose a "1" in the spicy scale and it felt more like a 3 or so. I didn't mind since it tasted so good, the spice didn't overpower the flavor. Excellent ingredients with freshness to it. I am not vegetarian/vegan, but I find myself returning to White Springs Cafe all the time. The lunch combo (entree + soup of the day + drink, served 11am-2pm) is great. I also appreciate the effort and detail that is put into the presentation of the food. The staff is super sweet and friendly too. Most importantly, the food is amazing. There is so much flavor and the portions are perfect. Their drinks are great too; the Thai iced coffee is my favorite. Also, I didn't expect much from their level 5 spicy because frankly, I eat pretty spicy, but I was surprised. So, if you aren't good with spicy food, I'd recommend getting a level 1 or 2, should the options allow. I'm already becoming a regular here. Vegan or not, I'd recommend this place a thousand times and more. I'm split between wanting White Springs Cafe to stay lowkey, and wanting them to blow up to receive the recognition it deserves. New place that just recently opened. Family operated I believe. I'm not a vegetarian but wanted to try this place out from the many great reviews. The staff is super courteous and polite over the phone and in person. They have special lunch deals and happy hour every day. Food packaging and presentation is very beautiful. They offer free ginger tea while you wait for your takeout. Very nice gesture! The only downsides I have are the small portion size and blandness. (Maybe because I'm not a vegetarian, or used to eating heavily marinated food). However the nice packaging and presentation justifies for the small portion/high price. Would I try it again? Probably not. Just because it's not my type of food. Is the food bad? Aside from the lack of seasoning, its very clean and healthy. Would I recommend? I got delivery so this review is based only on the food, but I was really impressed with the effort they put into their food! In my experience, restaurants only tend to put effort into plating when you're dining in, but this place put in the effort to do cute little carrot flowers even on my takeout. It may not seem like much but I appreciated it. I've had a lot of different Pad See Ew because that's usually a safe vegetarian option, but this is easily my favorite one. It comes with both Chinese and American broccoli and shiitake mushrooms, which I appreciate. The additional meatiness of the mushrooms adds a great flavor to the already umami pad see ew. I got it with the soy chicken option and was not disappointed, it wasn't bland or overly chewy. I also ordered the teriyaki chicken, but one item and an order of egg rolls were enough for me, so I had it for lunch the next day. It comes with rice and a side salad, so it's a complete meal all on its own and would be great to pick up and take somewhere. The Thai tea was delicious, it tasted just as good as any other Thai iced tea I've had, but it's vegan! The egg rolls were the standard kind you can get anywhere. My BFF found this spot on Yelp when looking for vegan friendly options. This is a Thai restaurant that is vegan and vegetarian friendly. They've been around since 2019. I ordered the Lard Nah add vegan shrimp, and Pa Nang Curry with vegan chicken. My BFF had the Larb (housemade tofu/mushroom patty) Burger , and the Spicy Drumsticks. The Roti with Curry was ordered to share. The Pa Nang Curry blew my mind with the flavor it had, but the portion is so small and it's expensive for its size. The Lard Nah was okay. The gravy tasted like it was missing something. My BFF really liked her burger and she thought the drumsticks were not bad. We were not impressed by the Roti and curry. I'm Malaysian and I grew up eating Roti in both Malaysian and Thai dishes. Roti is supposed to be flaky and thicker. The cashier was so nice that she offered us a complimentary Thai tea with oat milk. I'm really picky with my Thai tea so I rarely order it, but this one really hit the spot. It was strong and it was not that sweet. The Thai tea was just right. I would come again, but I'm going to try something else and definitely order the Thai tea.
