The server having a good time with her friends and ignoring customers.
Jennifer J.

Standing at the door being ignored while a server has a good time chatting with her friends. She turned around and saw us, but nope that's not part of her job. She muttered to her friends and her friends turned to look at us (at this point looking like a couple of annoyed customers) and they laughed together. Wonderful. If you're on your break you shouldn't be in your uniform, if you're talking trash don't make it obvious. Waited a long time before the server came to greet or take drink orders. Server slammed my plate on the table, and infront of the wrong person. Forgot to bring our order of the second beer. Overall an incredibly poor experience, but two stars because their food was decent and it isn't always so bad. Usually it's mediocre.

Calamari
Eric B.

-always check the pics- Typical White Spot as expected. As a starter we ordered the calamari and caramelized onion & cheese dip. The calamari was as usual a strong 3.5 stars. On the other hand the cheese dip was a bizarre combination of cold and warm. A warm cheese type dip with stone cold sour cream. Not a really good combination and it did not taste like anything you would expect out of a cheese dip, more like an artichoke scooping type. We all agreed the dip get's a big thumbs down and a messily 1.5 stars. For our main meal we ordered the BC burger, chicken quesadillas and fajita salad. The BC burger, a classic, did not disappoint. 4 stars! The quesadillas were good as well and came with a generic Caesar salad. 3.5 stars. Now I have to warn you about this ginormous salad. It is an acquire taste, you either like it or you slowly will... kindda. A good amount of romaine lettuce serves as a bed for the salsa, sour cream, and steak strip. All of this is served on a huge fried tortilla. A have been eating this dish for a couple of years now and I love it. Just be aware it is allot of romaine. 4 stars. Service was great and our needs were met. 4stars. Ambiance was good although a bit on the cold side. 4stars. Overall we give it 3.5, but since we can't do half stars it get's 3. We took pictures of all the meals for you curious peeps.

Inside

Nice friendly staff when I was here. They have a patio as well as a good sized indoor area for seating and TVs for watching sports etc. Happy hour was good with some drinks and a few food specials. Tried the mushroom flatbread and a halibut burger and both where food. Worth a try if your around during happy hours.

Bacon bigger burger with yam friend. Tomato on the side

Disappointed that the only drinks on the menu are alcohol. What happened to juice, ice tea, pop, lemonade, tea, or coffee .

The restaurant was dimly lit with Background music playing in the speakers. Very modern classy vibe. Our server asked if we had any specific beverages other than the water we were given that we wanted. We decided to stick with just water as it was late(Monday night). We perused through the menu and both decided to have the taste of tri-cities menu they had going atm. Wifey ordered for appy the crispy chili tofu and I ordered a individual charred corn/avocado dip with tortilla chips. For mains wifey ordered blackened Cajun chicken and I had a deluxe burger. Dessert wifey ordered mini caramelized vanilla cheesecake and i got the mini sticky toffee chocolate pudding. The crispy chili tofu was quite nice, crispy and flavorful. It came with a dipping sauce which i liked but wifey found the tofu was already seasoned enough she opted not to use it. My individual dip was delicious and creamy, well seasoned. Cajun chicken was moist,I found it slightly salter than I like but maybe it's my age? I've been finding lots of things salter than I remember or maybe all you younger ppl like saltiness lol. Wifey also found it a bit salty. My burger was very messy but tasty, crispy bacon within and fresh lettuce. Decent burger. Fries again i found a bit over salted. For dessert the vanilla cheesecake didn't stand out. Pretty standard, tasted fine as vanilla cheesecake goes. The sticky toffee pudding was good. Soft and moist, served a la mode. Both desserts were served with a thin brittle which was very good. My only complaint was the spoon at the establishment seems kinda overly thick or something as it's very hard to scoop up the dessert into it. Made eating the dessert hard and finicky. Over all nice late dinner, decent food and great servers. Very solid in terms of food and service/atmosphere.

Finally got to try the Milestone Test Kitchen. This one is located all the way out in Coquitlam…read more Most of the Test Kitchen like Earl, Joey's etc are located in Vancouver. B and I made a reservation because we knew this place is going to be busy on a weekend. Parking lot is very small so I recommend coming in for an early dinner instead. The restaurant is located a block or two away from Coquitlam mall. We walked in and was seated immediately but that was probably because we had a reservation. The greeting was super warm at this restaurant. Our server for the night provided a great experience. We ordered the the Moroccan Meatballs to share. I got the Seafood Risotto and B got the Chicken Clubs with Cajun Fries. For drinks I had an non alcoholic drink the Pink Fizz and B got the Negroni. The Moroccan Meatballs had a lot going on with the flavors. It came with bread to go with the meatballs. My Seafood Risotto looked small but it was quite filling. It had half a lobster with it, lots of shrimps and other seafood. The risotto was very flavorful. B chicken club sounds ordinary but again it was also very flavorful and unique. It is basically a chicken cob salad in a bun. The fries that came with it was delicious. I really like the garlic aioli dip that came with it. All food items that we ordered were only available at this test kitchen. The drinks were good. The meal with tips and taxes came to $120 for two people. Pretty standard pricing. Overall, good experience, good service and good atmosphere.

They have a patio outside, a mezzanine and quite a few tvs for you to watch games. We got the pineapple wok squid, brussel sprouts and the big "o" chicken sandwich/burger. They asked if we want regular or spicy version for the chicken, We asked for the spicy one. The pineapple wok squid was unique as it had a slight curry flavor and the pineapple gives it a tangy flavor which is an interesting combination that works. I didn't taste the garlic in the dipping sauce, maybe because of the curry taste. It was good. The chicken burger was good as it has cole slaw, pickles, and range sauce. When we told the waitress that we were sharing, she asked if we wanted the burger pre-cut in half. Not a lot of places would have asked that, so that was really good of her to ask. The brussel sprouts were good too as it was crispy but not burnt. If we are in the area again, we will definitely come back, maybe for their happy hour

We ordered a pistachio latte, apple crisp macchiato and Turkish coffee. We asked for the first two drinks to go and Turkish coffee in house. Unfortunately, our barista made all the drinks to go. We did not get to enjoy the Turkish coffee in a nicer presentation. Also, we kind of expected a sugary treat to accompany the Turkish coffee and there was nothing. Maybe because I am used to other cafes just automatically offering a Turkish delight or something? There was a cup of water to wash down the bitter coffee. Overall, I think their food is probably a better option than their drinks. My pistachio latte was alright. I could taste a hint of the pistachio. Service was alright. We received our drinks fairly quickly.

I was intrigued why they did not have an Iranian theme with some ethnic uniqueness to it. Perhaps this is more palatable to the general public. They serve cafe style offerings with some breakfast items, sandwiches and pastries. The owner relayed to me all coffees and teas they serve are organic!! She would also like to expand their menu to include a liquor license. So we shall see what happens then. Coffee is good. Pastries were okay. Pricing is slightly above average. Okay environment to work in if you don't mind the Mediterranean guitar music playing full-blast. Overall, their chairs are more comfortable than usual coffee joints in the hood. May return in future if work with RELAXING music is in the stars.
