Your driver was driving recklessly on Old Tomoka Road today at approximately 9:45 a.m. He was traveling around 80 mph in a 50 mph zone, tailgating me while I was already driving about 55 mph, and then passed me by going around two vehicles. I attempted to get his license plate so I could report the incident to the non-emergency line because this type of driving is extremely dangerous and could seriously injure or kill someone. UPDATE: 06.06.24 - White Sands finished our pool resurfacing with WetEdge Deep Sea Blue Pebble and it came out fantastic! They started 5/20/24 and fired up the filled pool by 6/3/24. They were always on time with their schedule and very pleasant to work with. The office always answered my calls and Amber and Ashley were able to answer my questions every time. Their team was just great and I would give 100 stars if I could. Thank you again for completing my project so quickly and beautifully! 05.18.24 - I just started working with White Sands recently and thus far they have been amazing!! Every time I call their office, someone answers and they are able to tell me the status of my job. Each person I speak with is so pleasant. Garry came out to give me my initial estimate, he was prompt, thorough and was able to give me a very reasonable quote onsite. Their terms are fair and scheduling was easy. They started my job on time and Pablo was the 1st person to come out and get the jobsite prepared. He explained the process to me, checked everything out and made sure my pool was prepared properly for the finish. He is also very kind and professional. I have "PTSD" from working with other contractors so it has been so refreshing to work with a company that values your time and business. We had these guys resurface our pool. Can not say enough about the quality job they performed! We had a pool from the 70s with the old white mar-cite finish! Looking to update and get a fresh look, these guys did just that! Fighting the darn Florida afternoon rains the whole way! They fit us in between those pesky clouds! We chose the diamond brite finish in a dark blue color. This pool looks like a huge invitation of relief. Working outdoors most of the day, when the bell rings I just wanna jump in! I wouldn't recommend this company to my friends. The tile installer screwed up the tile and didn't show up for two appointments to fix it. They fired him and sent someone else. Then we found out that the drain for our spa was clogged from debris from the installation. They didn't bother to cover the drains. I told the salesman to include a hand rail in the quote which he never did and now they are asking for additional money to install one. Don't believe their website. We declined. 4/30 & 5/1 Pool reno started 5/2 Miller Construction delivered pavers - placed on front lawn. 5/7 MC checked job status. Crew scheduled for 5/8 but pool tile was not done so had to reschedule. 5/7 Called WS. Told we're scheduled 5/11 5/8 MC delivered work trailer - ready to start when tile is done. 5/8 Called WS for update. No response. 5/11 WS did not show up. 5/11 Called WS. Told we're scheduled 5/14. 5/14 WS did not show up. 5/14 Called WS. He said "...Honestly, this was something we missed..." and "...normally, this should have be addressed sooner...". Technician couldn't finish, said he'd return next week. No one came back next week. 6/10 Called WS. Handrail is loose, valve for the vacuum line is concreted in, black smudge splattered all over side of house, water spicket is busted & dead grass area (10x30). No call back. 6/11 Called WS. No call back. 6/12 Called WS. No call back. 6/14 Called WS. No call back. 6/15 Called WS. No call back. 6/15 Called owner's (Kim) cell phone. 6/16 Took water sample to the pool store. No call back. 6/21 Received bill but job is not done and the price is $700 more than signed contract. 6/21 Called WS. No call back. 6/25 WS tried to fix outside spicket but broke it worse. They pressure washed the wall. Black smudge came off but so did our paint (they refuse to fix or reimburse) 6/28 WS laid one small piece of sod but it died and it didn't even begin to cover the area of dead grass. Replaced broken spicket. 6/1 Vacuum line blew out. The entire valve part, that they had fixed a few weeks prior, blew out!!! Called WS. No call back. Got someone else to fix it. In Spring 2015 White Sands Pool Plastering was engaged by our pool contractor, Bay Area Enterprises, to re-plaster our pool and spa for the price of $6,000. In 2018 we decided to replace the waterline pool tile. When the pool was drained multiple plaster bubbles (the result of the pre-plaster preparation being done incorrectly) were revealed requiring the pool to be completely re-plastered. The cost of refinishing the pool with Pebble Tech was $7,400.00. We attempted to file a complaint about the defective plaster work with the Better Business Bureau, but although the defect was only recently discovered, the BBB has a one-year limit on complaint filing, so the complaint was denied for this reason. In the course of submitting information to the BBB and exchanging communications with White Sands owner Kevin Liljenquist, he agreed that pre-plaster preparation had been applied thick enough, and that his job supervisor would not have applied the plaster if the pre-plaster step was not done properly. Nevertheless, Mr. Liljenquist maintains that the defective plaster application was the responsibility of my contractor. We warn all potential customers to hire this company at their own risk. Their crews are not qualified to work anywhere near a pool. They were eager to be paid in full, but far less concerned with the quality of their work, which speaks for itself. I am FURIOUS!! White Sands Pool Plastering illegally dumped a truckload of plaster from their job across the street into my yard, filling a gopher tortoise burrow, killing my Tiki turtle who had been resident for decades, and killing about 100 square feet of native Gopher Apple and Liatrus that grew there, depositing a hard coating of plaster very thick in some areas. The manager was so apologetic (dumping in my yard, WTF?!!!) and promised to handle it in 2 weeks (long since come and gone) and so I sent a courtesy message to let them know I had waited long enough and was going to file charges and a lawsuit. The owner agreed to a formed concrete and plaster for my little pond in leu of removal and a lawsuit for damages, if I can wait til this FALL and they don't want to warranty the coating... so I want a more legally binding contract with her electronic signature (simple enough, a /s/ from her email address) to follow the agreement I ALREADY HAVE IN HAND FROM THEM. In reply, their rude bitch office manager who claims to be working with their attorney) not a chance because I already have an agreement from the owner's email and there are dumping fines and crimes committed due to the turtle death and burrow destruction) writes me back after their manager comes out here and had also agreed, and tells me to have the turtle autopsied!!! OMG... they don't have a clue who they are jerking around... I already have this from the owner. They will lose... I don't recommend this company to my friends. After a nightmare long process of disorganization, lack of communication, and lack of detail, my pool has been resurfaced with the wrong surface. The step tiles were installed as the installer wanted to, not how I wanted. I was told that I would be able to lay them out . Jets not screwed in all the way because of debris in threads due to not covering them properly. 2 cleat holes and groove in surface by steps. At first management said everything looked fine to him. Then he said we will take care of the problems under warranty after you pay us in full. (Was not born yesterday) The wrong surface and placement of step tiles of course could not be corrected and money was taken off because of their mistakes. The other problems were also corrected after a lien being put on my home and a certified letter that I wrote to the company. I give them 2 stars only because there are people at the company that still care about the customer, but the new management does not. read more

Do NOT use this company! I've had a horrible experience that is still not over because my pool is leaking. It started with all of the incorrect information given to me by the salesman (Ed) and continues to now-3 weeks after the project and my pool is still leaking (feet not inches of water lost in 2 days). Ed told me all the things I wanted to hear (like a good salesman) and then everything changed once they actually had my money. They have been out and "fixed" several leaks, but now they just blow me off when I call and say they will come out but never show up. I've had to turn my filter off because the pool is losing so much water in a day and it gets too low below the skimmer. I would NOT recommend this company. read more

When we signed on to get our pool done a few years ago we had stipulated a particular finish for the pool that was selected out of the number of variants shown to us in the sample book. As luck would have it I was not in attendance on the day the company actually did the work, and when I turned up the following day to take a look at the pool discovered they had given us the wrong color! My wife got hold of the rep, who started talking out of both sides of his mouth and brazenly told her "so what's the big deal? Once the pool's filled you can't tell the difference anyway!" Yes folks, he seriously said that! So I guess as far as White Sands is concerned anything the customer selects is basically just a moot point and it's up to White Sands to decide if they'll accommodate the customer's wishes or not. The guy literally reduced my wife to tears with his brusque attitude, and only backed down when I emailed later with an angry response to his behavior. So back to square one, and White Sands returned to layer on ANOTHER coat of the pool finish - I thought they'd grind off the previous one they'd saddled us with because it is actually quite a thick layer, but no, they just put the new one over it. So fine, we ended up getting the color we wanted, but with one layer on top of the other they ended up making the pool sides look like they're bulging out a bit, and the recess for the underwater pool light is so tight that it won't house properly - within a week of their finished the job the light simply fell out and landed on the bottom of the pool. Try as I might, working with a snorkel and mask, I could never get the light to go back properly into the wall, ended up getting longer bolts, and left it sticking out in ugly fashion. A few months later a small hole appeared at the bottom of the shallow end, and the tenant who was living there flatly denied having anything to do with it. It was a neat round hole, and I suspected one of her kids had speared the cleaning pole into the pool, though she claimed one of her kids had jumped in, hit the bottom with his heel, and the surface had crumbled away. I leaned towards the pole theory, regardless of which I contacted White Sands to ask what they could do about it - they sent out someone who applied an underwater patch (meaning they didn't drain out the pool, just applied some other kind of compound that wasn't like the original finish) and even though I thought it marred what had been our nice new finish we decided to live with it. Unfortunately, over time the surface began to crumble away around the patch, to a point where it eventually became apparent that if we didn't do something about it more and more of the new surface would get compromised - what had started out as a hole about the size of a dollar coin ended up about the size of a bread plate. The way the surface kept crumbling away - I could easily pick away at the edges with my fingernail when I jumped into the pool with my snorkel to inspect it - left me worried just how strong the original bonding agent was. We contacted White Sands a month or so ago and asked them to sort the situation out for us, including grinding out the light recess to make it sit better. This time they drained the pool out, but gave us a patch of supposedly matching material that clearly doesn't blend in. As for the light? It fell out again with days - clearly they did nothing to fix the hole. That they did this follow-up work without charge is fine - but what's the point if it's poorly done? Besides which they were at least responsible for fixing up the light recess. Overall our experience with White Sands has not been a happy one. Just unprofessional and lackadaisical in their follow-up work. read more

Absolutely the worst service company I have ever used in my life. The sales person is great, and then it goes straight downhill from there. No communication, completely disorganized, broken promises. I asked several times to speak to the owner and was told by the service managers that " oh, they wont speak to customers" oh really ? the employees complain nonstop about what a mess the company is and that they are " just doing what they are told" They never finished the work and the work they did looks no better then what I had before they came in. I kept telling them they needed to finish the job before I make final payment and instead of even coming out to look at what was wrong they went and filed a construction lien. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID! THERE ARE MANY REPUTABLE COMPANIES OUT THERE TO REFINISH YOUR POOL. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. read more

Great job, wonderful crews, quality abounds. We had a surfacing that, after 13 years, and a potential screw up from our pool cleaning company had to be redone. Jarrett from White Sands came to review our situation and reluctantly showed us areas that were de-laminated, etc. He offered us a very attractive price, and I agreed, with one stipulation. Our grand daughter was to have a 14 yr old pool party at our house in 4 weeks, and the pool needed to be completed by the Friday before the party. It was nip and tuck for a while, the weather didn't cooperate, but Jarrett and crews pulled through, working late the last couple of days to ensure that we had the pool in time. That included the owners coming in the last days to help out. Kevin and Kim, who have owned the company for a really long time, didn't need to be working on our pool. But, as they said, they made us a commitment and they were going to deliver. The quality of the work is absolutely incredible. Everyone that touched our pool appeared to take a lot of pride in what they did. The surface is stunning, the workmanship top rate and we are very excited and happy. White Sands stands behind their work! We had built a new pool and hired White Sands to install the pebble finish of both our spa and pool. They came highly recommended to us from a friend that has had multiple pool finishes installed for them. During the install they were on time and did a beautiful job. When the pool was filled with water they quickly came out before the weekend to complete the pool startup/chemicals and my family and I were very excited to swim in it for the first time. But that is not why I am writing this review. Where White Sands really excelled their integrity and craftsmanship was when we had a problem, our pool was losing water. In my own mind this was a very stressful situation for me because all I could think of is all the money we just spent on the pool and now I need to spend more. I called White Sands and they came out immediately. They found the leak and it ended up being a rather involved repair process. I don't blame White Sands, things happen. In fact, it may have been the design of the over sized main drain that we have. The most important thing is that they took care of the problem and NEVER ONCE did White Sands question us or give any push back. Very impressive and glad we choose White Sands.
