Jeremy was professional, extremely knowledgeable, and thorough. He explained every step of the process, what he was testing, and asked permission before accessing different areas of my home. He identified an unplugged component that was preventing my system from working, restored heat right away, and confirmed everything was operating properly before leaving. Honest, transparent, and efficient service like this is hard to find. I highly recommend Palmetto Air Conditioning and will absolutely use them again.

The technician pulled apart the system, added a very small amount of coolant, but s detemrined it needed to be cleaned. We were given a quote of $375 to clean the system but there was an extra diagnosic charge, which we already paid. When questioned, they would not return calls. After the tech left, the system stopped working completely. After several ignored calls and sending techs out to do the cleaning with addressing the new problem, a tech now found a leak, right where the original tech pulled out components checking the system. The previous tech broke the system and it was out off coolant. After months and months of being ignored from the Columbia office, the resolution desk got involved. They could not get answers from the office for months. All our inquires and theirs were ignored. They finally claimed the left a message giving me a price to fix it. $1500.00. That was a lie. We did not get any call nor a was message left. It is also not their policy to leave quote by phone. The are supposed to email, as they did the $375 cleaning estimate. After a few more months, we finally got a call from the local manager, who said they were waiting on part. When confronted that he had no idea what part was needed, the story changed to needing a new system and they would call me immediately with a great price on a new system. The call NEVER came. After many more calls and conversations with the resolution center the call was escalated to another dept. This new department could not get answers either. After two weeks, it is now October 1st. No calls. I finally reach the new dept who was now given a quote of $11,000. They admitted that was too high. The Columbia office refuses to return calls and address the problem correctly. They ignore their own departments who try to get them to resolve the issue.

The worst part is Yelp won't let me change it. I may have to delete this profile and create a new one this time keeping an eye on my spell checking software. I called them and they were at my house the next day. They inspected my gas-pack unit and ac. I had an unusually high utility bill for August. They thoroughly cleaned the whole unit and found a bad fill valve and replaced it. Other than that everything was okay outside and I was growing a little concerned. The last step was to inspect the thermostat and low and behold it turned out to be the problem. I was asked how old the thermostat was and I told them it was replaced just before I bought the home in 2019. Without hesitation they replaced the thermostat because it was under warranty and didn't cost me a penny. Made me wish I called earlier. They were very nice and efficient and when I was handed the invoice I got another pleasant surprise. The cost was way less than I expected. Needless to say I wrote the check happily and thanked them for a great job and will definitely call them the next time I need HVAC work done. Thanks guys!...

Service Requested: This review is based on repeated observations of company vehicles and trailers…read moreassociated with this business being staged within the ROW of Deep Cove Lane. Quality: The ongoing placement of equipment and trailers in a roadway curve area creates a noticeable visual impact and raises concerns about site management practices. The condition and storage of materials in this location contribute to an appearance that is inconsistent with a well-managed work environment. Value: The continued use of this area for staging does not reflect consideration for surrounding residents or the shared roadway environment. Vehicles and equipment positioned in this location reduce visibility and interfere with safe passage, particularly at a bend where sight lines are limited. Over an extended period, this does not appear to be temporary service activity, but ongoing storage and staging within or immediately adjacent to the roadway corridor. This raises concerns about how operational practices may impact public safety and the surrounding area. I have photos and will post them if i find a way.

Midstate's follow up and service after the install is poor though. And the quality of the install itself was average. Midstate provides fair value overall considering the local competition.
