An excellent stay near Downtown Napa. A Bed and Breakfast in a large handsome old Napa city mansion which has been very recently renovated. Quiet residential Napa neighborhood close to downtown. Large lot with beautifully manicured landscape and plenty of parking. Two EV Plus car chargers on property. All new fixtures throughout the rooms and property. Plugs and plumbing all recently upgraded. Electronic code locks for all rooms and brass security flipper on room doors. Additional electronic door lock for front door. Heated in-ground pool and in-ground hot tub in the backyard. Unfortunately the pool was not heated during our stay, but supposedly is normally set to 86 degrees. The in-ground hot tub is the newest and cleanest in-ground I have ever seen. It had subway tile accents around the rim and many warm water jets built in. The hot tub was a nice warm 103 degrees during our stay. Pool and hot tub are open 24 hrs. Housekeeping was surprisingly available as late as 2 pm. High quality high efficiency in-room split Mitsubishi AC wall unit. Good dense blackout shade for window, lets in some light on the edges. Multiple new outlets available bedside. Full length mirror on wall. Excellent new in-room shower with great water flow, great water pressure, no temperature variation, and nicely tiled with a seat. It could use a long hand bar for non-slip safety. Reasonable speed WiFi available in-room. We stayed in Room 11 on the second floor. Good stair access is available to second and third floors, but no elevators are available. Almost new very high quality California King bed in-room. Better get your buffet breakfast at 8:30 am, as it is a first come, first serve, good quality limited selection buffet. read more

Also we had a fabulous room with a balcony overlooking the front lawn. The staff were incredibly friendly from the moment we walked inside until the uber picked us up to leave. Other highlights we loved were breakfast every morning, a wonderful coffee machine, and the wine social hour every evening (which we made a point of attending nightly). Had a girls group stay at the hotel for a few nights. It's a beautiful property! Although it does need some more upkeep. Pool and hot tub had not been serviced where we could use those. Breakfast was great! The happy hour was perfect! Customer service could be improved. The "sorry our systems were down" seem to be a common theme in our communication with the staff. We sometimes got the feeling we were bothering some of the staff with our questions or needs. Staff sometimes was difficult to find as well. Maybe some of the staff are inexperienced and new? read more

We loved our stay. Greeted with kindness and we're given a nice tour, with great restaurant recommendations for Main Street. The inn itself is super cute and well decorated. Lots of cold air conditioning, which was so nice. Amazing amenities too. The pool and hot tub were down while we were here, sadly. There is an open dining area that is available for us 24/7 to grab wine glasses, ice, ice buckets and to use their communal fridges. Free wifi. Breakfast tapas is what they were known for, which is served from 8-10 every morning. There is also a free wine hour with snacks every day at 5, where they have out some whites and reds available to sip on. If you let them know that you have any allergies, they'll make sure you're taken care of at meal times. We came right on time for the first day of breakfast, and the inn keeper came up to me to present me with a gluten free toast that they hadn't put out yet. Great location and beautiful property. Service was great at times and lacking at others. When we arrived someone was leaving and they made sure we had the front door code, which was very nice of them as it was not texted to us. The room number and code were sent digitally which was nice. Breakfast was fine, but not as nice as what I have typically had at a bed and breakfast. There were a few things broken in the room. The shower door strip kept coming off, the smoke detector had been removed and not replaced, and there was a bad sulfur like smell whenever the heat kicked on so we had to keep the room a bit colder than we would have liked. I believe they are getting ready to do a renovation, so some of these things may be fixed in the future. read more

This is Hubby and I's first time being in Napa. He had told me how he wanted to go horseback riding for his birthday, so I planned a mini trip out to Napa. The first place where I had wanted to book to stay was actually at Napa River Inn, but when I went to go book the room, the price went up by $100! I was not happy about that, so I decided to continue looking around for a different place to stay for our visit. I came across White House Napa Valley Inn and thought it was the cutest place. Rooms looked cozy and I read other Yelp reviews that just made me say "this is the place we're going to be staying at." I booked the King Deluxe Balcony for our trip. Upon arriving, we parked the car in the lot (there wasn't a lot of cars there but plenty of parking). I arrived and seen one of the staff giving a tour to another guest, so I waited for my turn to check in. They told me that the room that I had booked ended up having a pipe burst so they had to change my room. I was a bit sad about the change, but the staff has been so kind and they also offered us a complimentary bottle of wine due to the change. We totally forgot to remind them about the complimentary bottle of wine that they were going to give us. After checking in they gave us a tour of the place. I love that their pool area is open 24/7, but during the hours of 10 PM-7 AM guests are not to be loud due to the neighbors next door. The guest space is also open 24/7 as well. Complimentary breakfast is form 8 AM to 10 AM and it's a grab and go type of breakfast that changes every morning. I really really enjoyed how they do their breakfast, it's very unique and I enjoyed it. From 5 PM to 6 PM, they have wine hour and I thought that this was a very great idea to do. It gives you a chance to get to know the other guests here and interact or just to enjoy some wine and cheese. All the guests that we've encountered during our stay was so sweet and it was great just seeing familiar faces. There is no refrigerator in the rooms, but they do have a fridge in the dining area for all guests to share, as well as water, tea and coffee on hand thorough the day/night. Hubby and I really enjoyed our time here and we are definitely going to be coming back here for our future stay. At first Hubby thought it looked creepy from the outside but the place grew on him and we truly loved being here. Please be aware that the photos you are seeing online are not at all what the property currenlty looks like - these are merely architectural renditions. I totally understand renovations - BUT tell guests BEFORE they arrive that these are taking place. We checked in on Wednesday, April 17th being told that we were the very first guests to stay with them. The funny thing is on Expedia they are reviews going back to Jan / Feb 2024 and they were under a full remodel. So how were people staying there having a 5 star experience? We booked the property based on the photos. However, there is NO pool, no outside seating area, no beautiful fire pits. Just construction everywhere, beginning at 7 am and lasting all day. We were also told, "if you have any concerns or suggestions, please let us know". I have tried to reach management, and no one will call back - so clearly they are not wanting suggestions. Staff was very hard to find, there is no main desk nor do staff wear any tyoe of uniform making them identifiable. Often times, when we finally tracked down an employee it was if we were bothering them. The hotel lacked the very basic and cheapest of amenities - DRINKING WATER. It was like pulling teeth to get any water. After asking consistently, one morning there was a large water dispenser on the counter. We were all SO happy, before long it was drained dry and removed - not to be seen again. An even bigger concern is that our guest room had no ability to lock the door, leaving our room very vulnerable.There are not safes in the room either. We shared a porch with another guest room and we could walk into one another room at any given time since there were no locks. We asked management, and were told " oh yeh, we know - we have it on our list to repair - but don't worry all our guests here are nice?" Finally, if you have any type of disability, KNOW that this property is filled with stairs. Maybe there will be a ramp made upon completion of construction, but when we were there there was no ramp for anyone who cannot manage stairs to enter the property. The one room we saw on the ground floor could not accommodate a wheelchair or walker in the bathroom. You will be required to carry your luggage up several flights of stairs with no assistance from the staff. I met one older couple who had a room on the 2nd floor, they had left thier suitcase in their car, as they couldn't carry their luggage up the stairs and they were not able to find any staff to assist them. I am not sure how this property meets even the basic ADA requirements. I have been reaching out to management for over one week and no one will call me back. Will the property be beautiful and mirror the architectural goals at some point? Probably so, but in the meantime TELL YOUR GUESTS BEFORE THEY ARRIVE to ignore the photos and expect much less. read more

They treated us so badly and shamed us for asking for a room that was cool and quiet to sleep in. We actually let them keep the money and walked out so we wouldn't have to stay in this environment. This is one of the first negative reviews I've ever written and it's hard to write because I want to forget the experience, but I don't think they should be getting customers coming to them after treating someone so badly. It feels awful to be treated badly at the end of a hard day by someone you are hoping will make you feel comfortable staying the night. I'm going to include detail in case someone else has this experience and finds it helpful to not be alone. The manager interrupted me, shamed me, raised their voice at me and then shamed me again for getting upset, gaslit me, suggested that I find a different hotel while also saying they would not refund me even though they couldn't provide me with room I could sleep in, used my being pregnant to point out it isn't the hotel's fault that I "feel heat differently" instead of trying to make me more comfortable in their hotel - this treatment was very hurtful and is why we finally left. After making the pregnancy comment, the manager turned to an employee and said they were glad they were there to tell anyone who asked that they had not said anything discriminatory. It all felt so shady and toxic to be attacked by someone who you are going to for a comfortable room to sleep in. read more

the WORST experience in Napa!!!I've been this hotel for three times on July and early September and other two were perfect. This time I booked a standard room with king bed. But I found it was different from the picture and I ask the front desk if the room can be changed. They refused. But I understand since it's during Covid-19. And next morning around 10:45, I'm having coffee at the lounge. One woman came and told me the checking out time is 11:00 with bad attitude. I checked out on time and want to have coffee in the swimming pool like the other two times I did, but that woman came again and asked me to leave right now. She said it's their Covid-19 policy which I didn't find on their Covid-19 brochure. I don't know the reason why she did that. Maybe because I was Asian or she was in bad mood. Just wow! The cutest little inn I've ever been to! I love how it is historical and it has retained all its beauty. It was very elegant and had beautiful rooms. I have no complaints. It is in a residential neighborhood as well so it feels very safe and home-like. I would most definitely stay again. I recommend exploring the backyard too, so beautiful and peaceful to enjoy time outdoors. It is walking distance from almost anything! I got all my steps in on this trip. Have you ever been so happy, so in awe, so at peace.. you don't even pick up your phone to capture it?? We'll that's what happened, and that is super rare for me.. I was so happy, so rested, so in the moment, I didn't pick up my phone one time... I regret not snapping some shots of this place, but I'll do my best to recreate with words: It's pastor appreciation Sunday and our church tells us to pack your bags.. you're going somewhere! How exciting, a surprise getaway. The limo pulls into this beautiful driveway and the brilliant White House just takes my breathe away. We grab our bags out of the car and things seem a little quite or deserted. My husband walks in and is greeted by a nice lady with a southern accent (I forgot her name). Husband tells her our name and she gives us a tour of the house and then shows us to our room. We had the king balcony room. Both the house and the room far exceeded my expectations and a giant smile moved onto my face and did not leave until it was time to leave the property. The morning breakfast was super yummy with the freshest ingredients. I could tell they must have a connection with the baker, the cheese farmer, the fruit picker... because everything tasted farm to table. So good!!!! We enjoyed a couples massage at their pool house. It was okay.. but due to COVID everything and everyone is a little different and awkward now a-days so it's understandable. I barely seen other guest (they were there though), I felt like the house was all ours. The only bad part was when it was time to leave. I seriously contemplated, hiding on the balcony, hoping my husband would just forget me and just take our luggage. This place along with the staff is a true gem! We were treated so well by all of the people who work there, especially Sierra and Jerry. They went out of their way to be accomodating and making sure everything was perfect. This place is amazing! We stayed for one night during a recent trip to Napa and I fell in love. It's so cute, the house is beautiful, and the staff was great! I wish we could have stayed a few more nights. The sheets are so comfy that I am trying to find out where I can buy them! The breakfast set up was adorable with little servings of different options. We stayed here for our girls trip to Napa to celebrate a birthday. Old school charm and very quaint and cozy. We got 3 adjacent rooms together that secured the balcony that overlooks the front lawn. It was perfect for our party of 6 divas ready to wine out the weekend. Complimentary breakfast in the morning safeguarded us from getting completely wasted for the day. As well, there was a communal fridge that everyone could use to store drinks or leftovers (aka breakfast for some) and a microwave. The pool area was also cute to hang out or debrief from the day. We have been following this hotel for a few years but never pulled the trigger. It used to be owned by the Lark hotel group, which has impeccable service and ambiance. We ended up staying here on a whim, after staying a night at the Kenwood inn and spa, and made the reservations on hotelstonight app, while doing a tasting at Carneros(we are locals and members there) on the way home. We had expectations from our previous experiences from the Lark hotel group and had no idea the ownership has changed in the last few years . We were wanting to extend our amazing "staycation" ,after a stunning time we had at Kenwood, a little closer to home, so did a last minute reservation through the app. It might be unfair to compare this hotel to our previous experience since it's changed owners, as well as our amazing stay the night before at the Kenwood- but the difference in hospitality was markedly noticeable. Upon check in I was surprised my partner had to come back to the car to get my ID - after he already presented his ( the reservation was under his name) . I haven't had to do this at ANY hotel I've stayed at in the last 10 years unless I have been overseas. The manager behind the counter - didn't give my partner a tour of the property, or up to our room, as he did for the other guest we saw from our vantage point at the pool cabana since we checked in early. This was interesting and not sure if it was because we paid on the app or because we that don't fit the napa sundress, big hat woo woo girls weekend vibe. Clearly we didn't get the same treatment as the other guests ( which was actually detrimental to the check in person because we usually tip very well for these services due to working in the service industry). On to the hotel. We paid a bit extra to check in early so we could enjoy the pool. The pool area is ok. My partner ended up cleaning the pool a few times with the net before we got in. The furniture was older, and looked ok from a few feet away - but there were an abundance of spiderwebs detris under the tables and in the furniture. We chilled for a while , but it wasn't the pool experience we wanted . The fence of the pool area behind the cabanas was orange construction fencing and the pool rules were leaning haphazardly away from it. The sitting areas with the fire pits were not clean- one of the fire pits was out of fuel, and the one that was full- had dirty chairs and a great view of the neighbors next door living room tv. There were a few piles of deconstructed garden decorations, trash cans full of empty beer cans... and a general lack of detail for a space I imagine used to be exemplary. For our room (11) - it was small, but quaint. Not many complaints there, I liked the blackout curtains- I'm sure good for people who are wine tasting all day, even though they weren't fully on the track they were hanging off. The wall fireplace is electric - so you can have a show or heat or both. The AC was GOOD. And the ceiling fan was powerful. Our room was what we would expect size wise in Berlin or Paris- it was good other than the lack of attention to the detail of the curtains. We missed the wine and cheese hour, we napped straight through it - but I loved the Nespresso maker I could hit up some decaf before we went to our dinner reservations. One thing that is that there isn't a good place to get water (12$ Evian in the room) there's a couple small 2/3 gallons? spa water locations in the lobby and the dining area- but I witnessed 2 times gals trying to refill their 32 oz yeti bottles with these. Not super practical. We slept well, small queen was comfy, and went down for "breakfast time". Again Nespresso machine was a lifesaver , but we We're super disappointed in what was offered for breakfast. There's only a few options. There's half breakfast burritos, (lukewarm and even when they were just brought out :stale? ) fruit and geriatric oatmeal ? And I think toast and bagels. You can read the previous reviews where people explain the tapas style breakfast, which is what we've experience with the Lark hotels we stayed with before. And now we know this is no longer run by the same hotel group for sure. The breakfast area was beautiful- the breakfast food was not. There's no refrigerators in the rooms at least as far as I can tell because there's a communal refrigerator on the second floor for all of us to use if we had leftovers. There's a station for extra soaps and shampoo and towels, across from that which is fine for convenience, but took away from the aesthetic of the hotel. Upon check out in the morning, the gal that checked us out was very nice, she asked us how our stay was, and when my partner responded fine... she asked "just fine" And we left it at that. We are east bay business owners and locals, and often are looked at by traveling clients and friends for recommendations... unfortunately this won't be one of them. read more

Poorly maintained amenities. Three strikes: 1) If you are booked in room 18 beware. The room is on the 3rd floor where A/C is a must, and the unit was the loudest I have ever heard. Like having a high pitched garbage disposal running at all times. 2) Hot tub and swimming pool were not maintained. There was debris everywhere. I took the liberty of cleaning the pool and counted no less that 12 yellow jackets in the water. 3) Breakfast was marginal. If you stay here during covid plan on eating elsewhere. Very cute bed and breakfast! Staff is attentive and the breakfast was amazing!!! The breakfast lounge is cute and the outdoor area has a nice pool. Free parking. The room, which was pricey, was charming but small. No desk and not a lot of room to put your belongings. We were two people and definitely felt cramped. It's a grand old house which is beautifully done but an old house in this case means thin walls so you may here the people in the room above you or in the hall- which we occasionally did. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind. The house is located about a 10 minute walk from downtown in a residential neighborhood. It has a very strict cancellation policy. My wife and I loved our stay at the White House! The baroque style with the stained glass windows felt both elegant and homey. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The coffee machine on every floor is a godsend. I was a bit skeptical when we learned that the breakfast the next morning would be breakfast burritos. I was expecting something of the microwaved variety. Boy was I wrong! These were crunchy and warm and honestly some of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had! Let me start by saying My wife and I have stayed here before, I think 2018, and it was a great experience. I wish this time would've been the same; however, it wasn't at all. Our room had drapes that had two or three loops torn off, the air conditioner was very loud ( to the point where it was hard to sleep and I could hear it outside of our door), the sink backed up and one of the lights was out in the bathroom. The pool and hot tub need attention as there was algae in both and not something either of us wanted to use. Sitting by the pool, I looked up and saw weeds growing out of the roof line area. I booked a room here in January 2023 for my anniversary in December 2023. I paid $965 up front. On September 30th, 2023 I needed to cancel the reservation. I have yet to see my refund. The first manager I spoke to who said he would handle the situation is no longer there. His replacement just keeps telling me that their HQ is looking into it. Their HQ is Aimbridge Hospitality. This is all very unfair and stressful. From now on, I will do my research before staying anywhere and will stay far, far away from any establishment run by Aimbridge Hospitality. read more

We stayed in this bed-and-breakfast on our trip to Napa Valley. We were pleasantly surprised! Warmly greeted upon arrival, the atmosphere gives you a down-home feel with customer service and comfort seeming to be the top priority. Truly a gorgeous house and property, the White House in as close to a lot of wineries and restaurants in beautiful Napa California. Another good thing about it is that it is pretty small so you are not competing with an overcrowded lobby or tons of other guests. This contributes to the "cozy "feel about this place. If we ever go back to the Napa Valley region we will definitely keep this place in mind and most likely end up staying here once again! read more

Spent 2 nights at the White House Inn. Beautiful property with an incredibly attentive staff. Appreciated the offers of a glass of wine while sitting in the lounge or poolside. Very nice breakfast buffet, although on our 2nd day some food and silverware ran out before we got there. They were replenished fairly quickly though, and even brought directly to our table by the aforementioned attentive staff. Loved the pool area which was so fragrant with all the blooming flowers. It was mostly quiet, interrupted only by a leaf blower each afternoon. (Really, those things should be banned.) The room was unique and I enjoyed the spacious bathroom and shower. We had great weather so didn't get to use the fireplace in the room, but love that option. We did enjoy the outdoor fire pit. Appreciated the Covid policies - masks, no room cleaning or service during stay. Wonderful retreat! read more

Wonderful surprise stay for our 4 year wedding anniversary booked by my wonderful husband. Loved the property had a old world charm but all updated amenities. Our stay included complimentary breakfast, wine hour, coffee and tea bar, free wifi and iPad usage, pool and hot tub. Spa on site. Staff was super nice, helpful and available. Great location perfect for Napa. read more

Worst Service Ever - Stay Away Review of White House We never made it there...they canceled our res less than 48 hours to check-in. Ok, so they had a plumbing issue that closed 3 of their rooms...or so they said. I called and was told by Venessa, sorry but you don't have a room. Our travel companions still had their room. We understand issues happen but they did NOTHING to help us find a room elsewhere, just said sorry can't stay there. We were flying in from Indiana. So all hotels are booked, Cost us an extra $1000 for 3 nights finding our own alternative. No compensation from White House, no help to find a comparable room at another hotel, just simply "Can't Stay" because our room is damaged.
