Hey I know many of us view WhiteCastle as a place for late night stomach filling after imbibing but folks this place has breakfast items that cannot be beat!! As compared to the more mainstream big drive thru's, you get real and I do mean real fresh cooked eggs and bacon or sausage. To top that off, you can get it anytime!!!!! I have never seen such incompetence ignorance and stupidity in my life. How hard is it to screw up 5 cheeseburgers with no onion and 5 hamburgers with no pickles and take for ever. 3 of my hamburgers were overcooked and were missing the onions. The employees here do not know the items on the menu. I asked for 2 breakfast sliders with sausage. The receipt came up as Whe sec and she said it is the breakfast sandwich. I asked the question to 2 differs people. When we received the order it was the breakfast sandwich not sliders. I brought it to their attention after we got our food we told them and they still said it was right. Iconic fast food burger place. They have a special on Valentines Day. They accept reservations on that day and have cloth tablecloths. Food always tastes the same. Simple but tasty tiny steamed burgers. Shakes are really good. Unlike "Micky D's", their shale machine is rarely down. This location has the soda machine with over 100 varieties. read more

This is your basic White Castle, the service is better than most I've been to in the city. The food taste the same as any other White Castle, the service seems faster than others I've been to. Some things I would like to mention is white castles has become vegetarian friendly. They have like 3 burgers available for non-meat eaters. They have the bean burger, impossible slider and a vegan burger. I've only tried the impossible slider and it's not horrible. It taste like a fast food burger, I've had them a few times. They cost $1.99 per slider and you can choose any cheese you like, if you want cheese. Would defintely return to this location, it seems well managed. But make sure you ask for the condiments you want as well as napkins. read more

After hearing so much from Harold and Kumar, this was finally my chance to knock "slider pilot" off this guy's bucket list. Parking is available in the nice lot on the side. The inside is pretty cozy, with cheap vinyl booths dotting the place. Maybe I wasn't mentally prepared for the sliders themselves, but these burgers are WET in the middle? As this is my first WC experience, I am not sure if these are supposed to be like this. All I know was my stomach was turning the whole time while I choked these down. I was going to give this place 1 star, but the other reviews seem to suggest that this is supposed to be normal. As I'm not from Chicago, what do I know. I have been going to White Castle for a long time, and this location is usually the one I go to! The service is pretty good. The staff are quick with the orders. They are friendly too. I had no problem with anyone at this location. The food is pretty good as well. I am a big fan of the chicken sliders. The chicken is tender. I like the fries and the onion rings here too! The onion rings are crispy, and the fries have a good taste! All in all, this is a good White Castle location. I will be back here. read more

So their new Impossible Burger is so delicious I had to stop for 2 of them at 2 different locations 2 days in a row! This review is solely based on the Countryside location since this is the one I have a product picture of. I like this specific White Castle, as it is often the one I visit in the middle of the night when I am going from one hospital to the next during my Call shift. I almost always get the same thing: 2 veggie burgers with sweet thai, pickles and microwaved onions(other onions are from the grill). Those little guys are so warm and tasty! It's great to have a veggie option in the middle of the night! The staff is always friendly, although it can often take up to 10 minutes to give me my food. Their fries are okay, but I'm not a fan of hard crinkle fries. I'm still waiting to try their cheese curds, but at 660 calories for a small I can't see wasting my daily on something like that. But oh, those Impossible Burgers are lovely! For those who don't know, they are a plant based patty that actually sizzles and turns red while cooking. The texture is also similar to meat, if my recollection from 18 years ago serves me right. They aren't the prettiest, but they are damn tasty! Each one includes smoked cheddar, grilled onions, and pickles. These aren't the same onions on a normal slider, either. They are thick and plump, and are cooked on the same separate grill as the burger. Each are 4 superb ounces of non-meat goodness. At $1.99 a piece, they are totally worth it as other places that serve a larger Impossible Burgers are places like Kuma's and these go for $15 and up for a 6.0 ounce!(thanks to Michaelangelo for the pic of the Kuma's menu!). Everytime I go to this particular White Castle drive-thru, it is at least a 15-minute wait. I'm not sure if it is a White Castle thing because they cook their food fresh but I still find it unacceptable for it being a fast-food burger joint. The food ends up being pretty decent but the 15-20 minute wait just for some sliders is truly a drag. read more

After landing very late at Midway, I was in the mood for fast and convenient. I was in luck as right across the street from the hotelwas a 24 hour White Castle. Ordered the ten pack (half original and half cheese) and it came with two orders of fries. Easily enough food to feed two adults and a ravenous 8 year old. Not having them in Sacramento it was a treat. In the past I have always ordered the cheese slider but after eating the original (no cheese) I think I have a new favorite. We went here this afternoon. There was one couple eating and we were the only ones at the counter. We each ordered 4 burgers with extra onions, French fries and a soda. When we received our food we had 4 burgers with no onions, which were also not very warm, and cold French fries. There was no excuse for this lack of service. They were not busy. We usually go to the White Castle in Bridgeview at 79th and Harlem. We have been there many times. We always get the correct order. The burgers and fries are always hot. We went to the Countryside location because we were in that area. It is a mistake we will never make again. There was no reason they should have messed up the order and gave us food that wasn't hot. read more

I love White Castle. Growing up in IL, but now living in Kansas City, White Castle MIGHT be what I miss the most (Okay, that is lie.. I miss Portillo's more.. but I digress..). My go-to order is a couple sliders with cheese and mozzarella sticks. They make the BEST mozzarella sticks.. always crispy and never soggy (which is surprisingly because their sliders are the opposite). Once I get the basics, they always have something new to try out. Last time it was chicken and waffles breakfast sliders and this time it was pizza sliders and Italian chicken sliders. This location in particular is pretty good. I've been a few times and never had a wrong order. What I think grinds a lot of peoples' gears is that White Castle is slow. White Castle is notoriously slow. All locations all. They make these to order, so that is just how it is. They do offer online ordering though, so if White Castle isn't a spur of the moment decision, you can order ahead of time and skip the wait.
