My boyfriend ordered a spiced warm latte that tasted of cardamom and was so comforting. We stayed for a couple hours and worked. I will certainly be returning. This place is adorable! First time here- came to meet up with a friend and we found this "hidden gem" that we thought was cute on Instagram. WILL NEVER COME BACK. Over priced coffee- paid $10 for a 16 oz latte- and they only offer their "in house expensive milk" which is just a sweetened whole milk. Wasn't a big deal to over pay initially for this adequate latte - BUT- when I asked the status on my drink after it being 10 minutes of being here and others getting their orders, and mind you- never hearing my name called.... The 3 snobby girls behind the counter looked at me like I was an idiot and like I was trying to scam them for a drink- while there's only 5 customers here- ummm. ??? After confirming my name, they said "they called my name". As they did not bc there was no drink present. They made snobby faced responses as I walked away to wait again for my drink - that "only took 2 minutes to make". Also, the customer before me had to ask for her missing drink. My friend and I were not sitting far from the barista counter and could here these ladies gossiping about customers and being just quite rude and snobby. Customer service here is absolutely lacking. Really love White Box Roastery. The tiramisu latte was so good, and the place itself is bright, clean, and a great spot to get work done. It can get pretty loud since a lot of guests come to chat with friends and family, but putting on my AirPods helped me focus and enjoy my time there. The only downside was the cashier experience. She seemed more busy chatting with her coworker and wasn't very friendly. Another staff member was the one who asked me if I need help with the menu. After I paid, the cashier didn't even ask if I needed a receipt and just walked away. Overall, I still enjoyed the coffee and atmosphere. If the customer service were friendlier, this place would easily be a 5-star spot for me. read more

We tried this place for the first time on a Saturday morning about 10:00. It was busy. Very cute place. 4 drinks and 3 pastries was about $50 before tip. The strawberry cheesecake croissant was delicious and the cinnamon roll was too. My husband had the salted caramel and coconut latte and he said he didn't taste either of those flavors in there. My caramel brûlée latte was good. There is a small children's area which was really cute and is appropriate for toddler ages. If the seating area is too full, you can walk into the expansive open area of the Cotten mill since there is plenty of seating. read more

Decide to check this place out as someone had mentioned it had a play area, but honestly it was so messy, and unorganized that next time we will get coffee elsewhere and head to a local park. I ordered a small white chocolate breve and I paid over $9, only for the taste to be underwhelming. Service was pretty good, as the lady at front register was nice, but nothing that would say good customer service. I mentioned it was my first time there and didn't really get a guide for what to try/ popular drinks/ items. The place itself is nice with a lot of potential but it definitely needs a tune up to be a little more pristine and presentable. The salted pistachio latte was well-balanced and flavorful, and the house-made pop tart had just the right amount of sweetness and a great texture. They even had a vegan pastry option left at noon, which was a nice touch. The historic building adds charm, with comfy couches and an attached art gallery that encourages you to linger and explore. But the biggest issue? Cleanliness. Tables weren't wiped down, and the communal seating area looked neglected. Napkins at the condiment station needed restocking, which wasn't addressed during my visit. It was noon on a Friday--not slammed, but no upkeep in sight. It's a photogenic spot with solid drinks, but bring wet wipes if you plan to sit and sip. Tip: I guess you have to request the cute cups for iced drinks- they are super cute cup that's social post-worthy. So I absolutely love an authentic coffee shop, and this one delivered. Walk in and you're instantly taken in by the vibe and that aroma of fresh ground coffee. There was plenty of seating (though I still wished for a few extra cozy boho-style corners to curl up in). The décor was simple, but the lattes did it for me and omg they smelled and tasted incredible the flavors... wow. Love the variety wish I could have sampled them all!! So hard to find the flavor creatively in cofee shops anymore and White Box took it to another level I was delighted! The blueberry cheesecake latte tasted like dessert in a cup so rich, creamy, with just the right amount of sweetness - which I appreciate as I don't like over sweetened drinks - And the other which now I can't recall name but I think it was a toasted marshmallow s'mores latte it was next-level comfort, like sipping a campfire treat, perfectly balanced with that deep coffee taste ... delish !! So excited about white box roastery! This is an awesome and spacious local coffee shop that I think would be great for school/work or meet-ups with friends. It's very relaxing and I absolutely love the aesthetic. They even have a cute little corner dedicated to the little ones. Matcha is one of my go to drinks for coffee shops and white box has soo many fun variations. I tried an iced strawberry matcha with coconut milk. I was pleasantly surprised that it was flavored using strawberry puree!! It was very fresh and not overly sweet. Although I don't really drink coffee, I'm always down to try a sip. That sip was so good!! Part of me wanted to drink the whole thing. The coffee just seemed extremely smooth.. had no bite to it if you know what I mean. It was our first time so of course we had to try out the baked goods as well. The vegan guava pop tart was good as was the coffee cake, however this made for a pretty expensive trip so it probably won't be something we indulge in on a regular basis. Love that this coffee shop has a little play area for the kiddos as well as a drink menu for kids as well. I came to try the strawberry match latte and it was delicious, the Josie made strawberry puree took the drink to another level. My toddler had the cupcake iced lattes which was just milk with some syrup and it tasted just like the liquid amoxicillin aka bubblegum. Located inside the historic cotton mill in McKinney, I had high hopes for this shop based on prior reviews. I was underwhelmed. It's a lovely location with modern and fresh decor. The inside has lots of natural light. I received good service upon ordering but the person at the register couldn't tell me what berries were on the mixed berry muffin. I got the cinnamon honey oat latte hot and the temp was just right but the barista didn't fully close the top and when I went to pick it up, it spilled. The latte was ok flavor-wise but I didn't feel the need to finish it. The highlight was the chocolate croissant which was very flaky and buttery. This place was cute, and so peaceful! It's located off the back lot of the Cotton Mill, and really well decorated. We stopped by late morning on a Tuesday and there were only 1-3 other patrons in there during our breakfast. I can't see why it's not more popular, except that it's a little hidden from sight on the main roads. I got the bourbon vanilla latte and gouda sausage sandwich, and my husband had the blueberry lavender latte and bagel sandwich. The sausage gouda came on a croissant, and our food was served on a slate platter. I do wish they had given us small plates as well, but we chose not to ask. The girl at the counter was very nice and patient, and we loved the interesting flavors. Definitely less on the sweet side and more just flavoring. I have been wanting to try White Box Roastery since seeing viral videos about the White Apricot Latte on TikTok! My husband and I LOVED our coffee choices here. I had to get the White Apricot Latte (of course!) and my husband tried the Salted Caramel Coconut latte. We were so impressed with the smooth espresso and decadent flavor combos. I think the White Apricot is the best (not to mention most unique) latte I've ever had. It's a good thing we don't live closer or this cafe would be dangerous for our bank accounts! I'm new to the McKinney area and saw this place online and wanted to bring my mom and sister to try it out since it looked good but the service was absolutely terrible. I'm not one to post reviews but I felt it was needed after the poor experience my sister and mom went through. The owner who works the register was very rude and loud when my sister wanted to order a iced honey cappuccino and he yelled at her and my mom saying he couldn't make that, it wasn't an option on the menu. She tried explaining to him how to make it and it's very simple but he was very adamant and continued raising his voice at her saying no and that "it's not a thing". We ended up leaving as he was also rude to a group of young girls waiting in line behind us. We ended up leaving and going to Filtered coffee shop in downtown McKinney which was an amazing experience and the owner Jacob was very friendly and accommodating! Came in on a busy Saturday. I ordered a large honey lavender. At nearly 10$ for coffee there was nothing special about it; I've had better coffee from my Keurig. The baristas were rolling their eyes at each other while people were ordering from them and seemed very annoyed to be there. This is a pretty delicious coffee shop on the outskirts of East McKinney! The closest parking lot was full on a Saturday afternoon but finding parking nearby across the train tracks was straight forward and easy. My friend got the tonic and loved it, and the chocolate rum latte was excellent! Tons of rich flavor from the rum and chocolate. I got the Miami, which is a bit of rum, orange, with espresso and it was fairly good! I was expecting something at the levels of the Rum Lattee but it was much less sweet then I would have hoped . Their oat milk they use is decent. The Baristas took their time to make these crafted drinks. Tables were a little messy throughout the store. WiFi is BLAZING fast, AC Crispy and tons of chairs to sit at or if you want, to wonder the markets on Saturday! I do consider this a place worthy of coming back with respect to the higher then normal price but creative and good coffee is hard to face. read more

Perfect place to work and study! The space is airy, modern, and relaxing. I will say it is a bit dusty though. I've sneezed a couple times, and I've been sitting here for an hour. They have huge windows, so the lighting is perfect for any aesthetic pics. There are a ton of outlets along the window seating, lots of seating in general, and free WiFi! Such a cute spot. Found this place via TikTok and decided to stop by after seeing someone post about the White Apricot Latte. Immediately wanted to try it, so I really didn't need to even look at the rest of the menu when I was there. I love apricot and have never seen it be used in a latte before and I wasn't disappointed. It was absolutely delicious, with a very noticeable taste of apricot, not too subtle. The vibes there are super relaxed with a good amount of people working there. I really hate to write this review because it's such a cute space and makes for a great place to work/study, but their drinks and pastries are abysmal. I had an incredibly dry and stale almond croissant. I also tried their latte, which was probably one of the worst coffees I've ever had in the DFW area. It was really watered down, unflavored, and lacked a lot of the strong espresso taste. They definitely don't specialize in coffee, but if you're simply looking for a place to study or work, I highly recommend White Box. There are plenty of outlets against the walls, and the large windows mean the shop is always bright and well lit. It's a bit hard to find when you first arrive. I value coffee shops that have good ambiences AND good drinks, but unfortunately, White Box Roastery doesn't come close to meeting my standards for the latter. I hope they review their drinks and develop them because this shop has a lot of potential. read more

There's also a charming small courtyard with a few chairs and a fountain, which makes for a cute place to sit outside and take photos.
