Gouda prosciutto apple bruschetta and mushroom bruschetta
    Catherine M.

Solid visit here- views are gorgeous, service is fairly prompt, and boards are large for sharing. We got both cocktails and wine and they had a decent amount of wine options. The rose by the glass was nice and they use beautiful glassware. We tried the bruschetta with the mushroom one and the gouda one, we enjoyed that the bread was soft and toppings were plentiful. The Irish cheese board was good but for $34 I do wish they had a little more bread or crackers and a tiny bit mor meat for the price. Dirty martini was quite dirty and espresso martini was pretty good but could be a bit more foamy, it was a bit watery for my liking. When we wanted more bread we did not see the waitress for a bit to ask and by that time, our dinner reservation was waiting. Will come back more to try other things in the future!

Great location, great View and great staff! We were here on vacation and some friends took us to this new place. It overlooks the ocean and it's right on the pier. We had the infamous Italian Stallion charcuterie and a glass of wine. A charcuterie was enough for all four of us to share and we didn't even need to have dinner after. Great wine list also. Try it out if you're in the area.

This is on the pier for Surfside. We started with cocktails a cosmo for me and something for him. We decided to share the deviled eggs. They were scrumptious. Next we tried the Italian Stallion. A charcuterie boas that had everything. Delicious.

Such a great find!! The restaurant looks over the ocean and the pier. The service was fantastic and our food and drinks were even better!! Highly recommend for date night or a girl's only evening.

I cannot say enough great things about this cute & cozy spot! The ocean views are phenomenal, on top of the great service & amazing food! We ordered drinks (cheesecake sour & limoncello spritz), tomato bisque & the choose any 3 bruschetta. 10/10 and I can't wait to come back!

Came here after a lovely day on the beach. Lovely ambiance, great service, super selection of plates and wine. Full bar too. Desserts. Omg. Fantastic. My go to for Surfside has now become The Whistling Duck.

So excited that this spot is finally open! We enjoyed the sunset, delicious food and wine. Also our service was excellent! Only comment is that is a bit warm inside I hope they can work out their AC system issue.

Whistling Duck is a welcome alternative to all the large seafood oriented restaurants in this area. We are from California and we love wine and small plates and this place did not disappoint. The bruschettas (pick 3 of 5 - great to be able to try a few) and the artichokes with lemon aioli were fantastic. We also had a nice arugula salad. We almost ordered the southern oriented charcuterie - but we couldn't eat any more. We were able to view it and it was huge - would easily serve 3-4 people. The wine list was nice. A little bit pricey but worth it for the pairing with the food and the view, with the restaurant sitting right on the Surfside pier. We also enjoyed the ambience of a smaller quieter place after having sat through a raucous dinner at one of the Murrell's Inlet bit restaurants. The staff we attentive and the head of the kitchen even came out and chatted with us for awhile. We strongly recommend this place for a peaceful and delicious change of pace.

2/26- this quaint gem is located right on the pier. Restaurant has great views all around. Wonderful staff, efficient, and on point! Food was delish!! Sandwiches are sharable, great wine selection @ $13-$19/glass. Outdoor bathrooms are clean and nearby.

After 16 years of ending our annual beach vacation with dinner at Gulfstream Cafe, this visit…read morereminded us exactly why we come back, and why we tell all of our friends this is a restaurant to never miss. The setting is second to none. We (grandparents, parents, friends, teens and little one) always enjoy dinner on the upper deck, overlooking the marina as the sun sets over the water. The views are stunning, (Insta-mazing) the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and it is the perfect way to close out a week at the beach. This year, however, it was the people who made the evening unforgettable. During dinner, we learned that our vehicle was in the process of being towed. Before we even knew what was happening, manager Jason Burch personally came to find us and alert us to the situation. He didn't simply notify us and move on--he stayed with us, helped us navigate the issue, and made sure everything was resolved. He even offered to pay the towing fee himself and help us find another parking space. That level of concern, generosity, and personal accountability is something you rarely encounter anywhere today. Our server, Graydon, was equally outstanding. Attentive without being intrusive, friendly, professional, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great evening. Even with the unexpected stress of the parking situation, Graydon kept us laughing. Anyone can provide good food and beautiful views. What sets Gulfstream Cafe apart is its people. Jason Burch demonstrated extraordinary leadership and hospitality and delivered outstanding service from start to finish. Together, they turned what could have been a frustrating end to our vacation into a reminder of why we have chosen Gulfstream Cafe year after year for more than a decade and a half. Thank yous in spades to the Gulfstream Cafe team. We look forward to returning next year for year number 17.

My wife heard about Coastal Vino via a FB group called Pelowinos and we figured we'd stop in for a drink. We are wine drinkers with fair to good knowledge about wine and were immediately impressed by the convivial and knowledgeable owner and master-of-ceremonies, David Coy. This is a wine shop/bar. When we arrived, there were friendly patrons at the few outside tables who pegged us for tourists (non-regulars) and made sure to point us to David inside. It was busy but we were able to get stools at the small bar. David asked us about our preferences and explained pricing and how one buys the bottle vs individual glasses to drink in-shop. Fellow patrons were very complimentary of the owner's knowledge and recommendations so we decided to let him choose a red for us. He chose an excellent Spanish old-vine garnacha. Perfect choice for us and we sat happily chatting with his friendly customers. The environment was part Cheers (but with wine) and part speak-easy. People were surprised that we stumbled upon this place and teased David about his store's countrywide reach. It was very friendly and welcoming considering many were regulars and local. Very fun and what a wine bar should be. Needless to say, we left with 3 bottles, two opened (which is allowed) and one recommendation that we decided to carry home. As a wine shop, it is well curated. You will not see the "plonk" that fills most other shops (and largely pays the bills). What you will find is a wine lover's oasis with quality selections from storied wine regions and some little known gems that David is happy to key you in on. As an aficionado of wine shops, I could easily tell I would like Coastal Vino and having a guy like David in your back pocket for recommendations is golden! I wish I was local because I would be there every week. If you are in the greater Myrtle Beach area, this is a great place to find fellow wine lovers and good bottles. Bottles seemed to be $20 and up. This isn't Total Wine ( thank God). This is a place for aficionados and aspiring wine lovers who understand that well made wine doesn't have to be expensive but isn't cheap. Coastal Vino strikes just that balance in an area ripe with possibilities. If you visit once, you will visit often. Cheers to David and his lively patrons!

The wine list is EXTENSIVE and I didn't feel as though our server really helped sift through it or make recommendations so we went with the first red we saw and it was decent.
