DISAPPOINTING POUTINE…read more I appreciate the convenience of this brewery--it was the first restaurant I saw getting off the train, so I came here. Restaurant looked nice from the outside, but I was disappointed when trying the poutine. Fries lacked crispiness, but I can forgive that. What I can't forgive is that the cheese curds were ice-cold, and did not properly melt, at time of eating.

The ambiance was nicer than expected given the name, it was comfortable and modern but lacked any charm. The drinks were a highlight, we all enjoyed our cocktails and mocktails. The server was also very attentive and communicative. The only item we really enjoyed was the goat cheese poutine. That was delicious. The entrees were boring. Two of my party got the blackened salmon special with rice, vegetables and curry aioli. They expected a flavorful experience but got white rice, steamed vegetables and barely seasoned salmon with a small side of flavored mayo. It was cooked well but just not very tasty. I got one of the staff favorites, the bison meatloaf, which was also pretty bland. The meals were served like a convention center banquet meal instead of saucy, flavorful and fun.

They have slot machines in the back, a tv and sofa area in the center with a full bar. Friendly service and cheap drinks. I also had dropped my mask somewhere in there and the next day, I checked the front desk and someone turned it in!! Don't even think that's gross - my mask was a handmade baby yoda one that I loved, so a toss in the wash won't do no harm. Just the fact that whoever (guest or staff) found it had the heart to turn it in shows a lot about this place and it is much appreciated.

Something special they did was bring out a birthday cake for my girlfriend. It was thoughtful and the server made the effort to make it gluten-free and vegan so she could eat it. So nice of them. We have eaten all over the world and are routinely eating at some of the so called best restaurants in the Bay Area SF city proper... hands down the best food we've had on our Calgary, banff, jasper trip out of all of the places we've eaten that were highly rated on yelp. We came back here to fmb twice! The beer here is better than bear paws brewery in banff and rivals several of the top tier micro breweries in Denver, Portland and the Bay Area. The food is very eclectic. We had the burgers Reuben fries and in particular the poutine is remarkable. The gravy reminds me of some of the best places in Montreal. Big cheese curds and perfectly fried French fries. The Reuben was probably the best Reuben I've had in awhile and I lived in Brooklyn NY for a year. It is not NY deli style but they smoke their meat and it brings a unique extra layer of taste better than NY deli style Reuben's. The beer was quite good we got the sampler, the cherry sour beer, Lemon witbier in particular were special. The hefeweizen was very good as well as the hazy IPA. One tip we didn't know is you order the pizza outside from the food truck and can still eat it at your table with food ordering from FMB. You can listen to my reviews or the bad ones. But the telling sign is how busy, packed and happy everyone whom eats here is.

On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the decor definitely delivered on the "ranch" vibe. The old-style wooden chairs and overall atmosphere gave it a cozy, rustic feel that I really liked. The food, however, was a bit hit or miss. We ordered the chicken strips, which honestly felt a little disappointing. They were cooked properly, but the chicken itself had an odd taste that threw me off. I had onion rings on the side -- they were good, but nothing particularly memorable. We also ordered two 1-lb orders of wings (hot honey and salt & pepper), and these were definitely the highlight of the meal. The wings were cooked really well, juicy without being dry, and both flavours were delicious. Overall, great service and atmosphere, but the food quality felt inconsistent. I'd come back for the wings, but probably skip the chicken strips next time. They also have a 7.99$ for 1LB of wings, which was definitely a bonus.

Reasonable prices for the potions and quality of the food and the service is pretty decent. The first time we went in our bartender/ server was great, wasn't super busy so we chatted a little bit and she gave us recommendations and was very quick to put our food in and get our drinks. The second time a different bartender/ server was not as good. It was less busy than the first time but she would go to the kitchen (which we can see from the bar) and be talking and laughing and we would have to waive her down a few times. But the food was great! Highly recommend the peirogies, they are crispy and have lots of filling and don't seem to be frozen ones from the grocery store they seem home made!
