I've ordered from here twice and everything I've gotten had been phenomenal! Both times I ordered the burger because it's one of the best I've ever had. That bacon is out of control! Amazing! We just dined in here tonight. We had the empanadas, wings (garlic Parmesan), river burger (I think that's what it's called), and chicken Marsala sub! Everything was delicious, and portions were worth the $! We met the owner, so nice! I loved that it's family run (host, server, bartender..) everyone was soo accommodating even during these times! I love that the food is all made to order and that the menu with the exception of a few staples is always changing based on what's seasonal and available. I'm really trying to figure out what happened to this place! When they first opened, the food was superb. Really funky options and themes, hearty, guilty pleasures, etc. food was over the top and REALLY GOOD! After the summer, it just went down hill. I haven't seen anything on the menu that jumps out, the quality and creativity took a turn for the worst, and the drinks are so-so. They really brought it home when they first opened and now it's just lack luster. Idk-- call me a critic, but what first attracted me to this place has definitely fallen short. read more

Hospitality is off the charts. The Food is to die for. Eat here, now! I called Whiskey River to make a reservation for my boyfriend's birthday. It had to be outside and it HAD to have a tent. (This isn't quite as easy to do during COVID times + a looming tropical storm approaching last weekend.) I knew we'd need a rain plan. I worked with the owner, Cynthia, who was MORE than accommodating. She set up a tent for us and was in touch with me all week in the lead-up to the day, checking the weather report. The party day came and wouldn't you know, the storm came crashing down on us as soon as we sat under the tent. Cynthia offered us some inside space instead and her team thoroughly disinfected the area of the bar for us and blocked it off from any other guests. She understood our needs and concerns about being inside during this tricky time and made us feel incredibly safe. She even came to escort us from the tent with a golf umbrella so we didn't get soaked! :) We had yummy beers & cocktails and ordered dinner while we waited out the storm. As soon as the rain let up, the team wiped down our soaked outdoor tables and brought our dinner outside. We ooo'd & ahh'd over our food!!(DEFINITELY order the Empanadas** , the Burrata salad, the Fish Tacos, the Wiener, the Up the River Burger!!!!) Seriously, trust me. Then we sang happy birthday over cake from the local bakery (which Cynthia went to pick up for me!!) and headed out. All of this to say, that Whiskey River's goal is to make sure you're having a great experience, and they delivered. I do event planner for a living and I would choose this team to support my events ANY day of the week. The best burger I've had in all of NYS in the last 20 yrs. served on Brioche bun to die for. Nothing bad between the toll. Bacon, cheese, sauce and of course the beef! What a fantastic place to go to lunch. They were absolutely wonderful to set up a table for 10 people and our Great Dane, Adele as soon as we arrived. The service and the food were fantastic. Went looking for a good burger in Peekskill and discovered so much more. Whiskey River is the kind of place you instantly feel comfortable in. The staff, the owner, the food, the drinks everything was spot on. This a fantastic neighborhood pub. If you are anywhere near here be sure to stop in. We were here for a West Point parent weekend, and being from California we were looking for a local place to eat. Heard great things but was disappointed sadly. we ordered the Asian sticky wings, which were bland and did not look like the picture on the website at all. Chicken sandwich which was made with dark meat??? It was grayish in color, kind of tough to chew, never had a chicken sandwich that wasn't pure white meat. Bland sauce tasted like only Mayo, could not detect the jalapeño in the sauce. Lastly fish and chips, also bland tasting. We had the corn burrata salad which was out of this world with the best corn bread ever, as well as scrumptious wings and crab sliders. Whiskey River was a fantastic place to eat. The servers were incredibly pleasant and the outdoor seating was in the street, so it was very spacious, but the real star was the food. The Up The River Burger was to DIE for, and one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The Ahi Tuna tacos were also delicious and refreshing. Great beer selection too! The best food in Peekskill. So happy with the new owners and the menu. I order a meal here once a week and am never disappointed. I always get the empanadas and a Main, last week it was the Fish and Chips. Sometimes I get two appetizers, depending on what they have. The wings are fantastic, I have had the Truff Buff, Sticky Asian and Garlic Parm. Next up is the Blueberry! The burger is amazing. Cannot say enough great things about this place. read more
