I am SO grateful this establishment is here in our town of Algonquin! The gals are personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about their vast selection of whiskey, wine, and trivia! My partner and I (early 30's) have been regulars for over a year. We look forward to trivia every Tuesday (and a few spontaneous nights between). Went there on a Tuesday night to meet friends that were already there. Was told by other people that I couldn't have a drink. I get the fact that they were going to close soon but the owner was working the bar and didn't even acknowledge us entering the place. Whiskey and wine is one of the most unique spots I have been to. As the name implies, they serve whiskey and wine. The whiskey, which is why I was there, is displayed on six levels of shelving, has 3-4 prices on the bottles.... 1/2 Oz pour, 1Oz, 2oz, and a bottle price. They have many "common" bottles but also some more rare bottles. You pick what you want, the volume you want, and BAM! They also have a ton of wine available! Absolutely love this hidden gem! They don't have a kitchen but allow outside food from neighbors, is a bonus. We ordered from Cattleman's down the street and sat outside and overlooked the creek while drinking our wine flight. It's my understanding they have been under new ownership for almost a year and you can tell! Great bartenders that are super friendly and great service! Will be back often! read more

This is a really cute place. Same owner as BOLD across the street. I had the mimosa flight which is well worth the money. The service was fantastic and the bartender was knowledgeable about all the whisky they had. I saw a couple of reviews with people complaining about kids not being allowed - this is absolutely NOT a place for kids whatsoever. Came here on a Saturday and just loved it. Don't come here looking for cheap prices: the prices are fair and they have some great stuff. I had EH Taylor and another (can't recall the name). The EH Taylor was fantastic. They also sell it for $125. Very nice wine selection and a comfortable place. I can't say we will be here often but we will be back. read more

Not family friendly at all, in fact families are not allowed. We tried to do a wine tasting with friends and had our kids and friends kids in a stroller (4 kids younger than 2). We were asked to leave and felt embarrassed since we had friends visiting Algonquin for the first time, and specifically wanted to try this place. I honestly have no idea how this place hasn't taken the time to figure out how to be family friendly. I'm sure it will continue to be empty until they figure it out. Went in to try and support a local business. I found this place to be overpriced and not really impressive. Pretty much just a wall of whiskey with average service. Seems like there was just an opportunity to try and nail locals for a place to stop. We felt guilty and bought some cocktails and left underwhelmed and disappointed. We came here for our anniversary on a Monday. We had never been here before but it had a nice quiet feeling to it. Definitely perfect for a date or a time out with friends. We do prefer sweeter wines and flavored whiskey which they don't tend to carry but Brittany who works there, helped us find some things we enjoyed as well! What's really nice is while you're trying things they have a few sweets and/or charcuterie boards to accompany your experience. We had been looking forward to trying this place since it opened. When we walked in it looks nice but nothing special. We told the server that it was our first time here and asked how it works. There was very minimal explanation but we were given a whiskey menu that we could choose tastings. The menu was extensive with many high quality whiskeys. We each ordered 4 1/2 oz tastings. After a few minutes we got one but had to ask the server which one it was. There weren't many people in the place as it was a mid Saturday afternoon. We never saw the server again. We were in the door for a second and the taster didn't even explain what the concept was. Just started rattling about a tasting. Said it would take an hour. Which we didn't have time for.
