This place is SO CUTE! the outside is so beautiful, with the lighting and trees. I had the cheese board and the Orange white wine and it was some of the best wine I have ever had. They fill those glasses up too, you get what you pay for!! Such a fun spot to go with friends. The waitress explained how the tastings worked and all the wine options to choose from. Will definitely be back

The Prairie State Winery in Genoa is the best winery for its wine, ambience, music, and delicious food. Beautiful place and very good service!

Did I take a wrong turn and end up in Genoa Italy? Atmosphere: what an unexpected beautiful outdoor patio area, with live music! Loved the mural on the outside. We must be at the right spot. Service: we were there on a Saturday so the service was a little slow and we ended up having to go to the inside to pay. Other than that everyone was very nice. Food: We ordered the Italian sausage dip and the meat pizza. The dip got an oh my god from my husband we also ordered the brownie which arrived at the table in packaging. So that was a big miss. It was okay but maybe take it out of the package and drizzle something on it with ice cream. Wine: we are red wine drinkers and the wine was okay. Our fav was the ps I love you. Overall we would be back !

Love this winery! We try and come here at least once a year. Their wines and food are fabulous, highly recommend. Staff is very friendly too! The old historic building is also very charming.

So many cool wineries in Illinois and this is totally one of them. After looking them and their reviews up, I decided to stop by and see what wines they had that I could try and add to my collection - very good decision! Lol I did a tasting at the counter and the hosts/servers (a guy and a gal who's names I can't remember!!) were super nice. I actually ended up staying longer than I planned because their service was so great. My favorite was their Boo-yah, Elderberry, and the honey apple crisp. The Honey Apple Crisp is probably my fave bc it can be served chilled or warmed - warmed is my favorite! I can't wait until they get back fully up and running in the spring!

Wonderful service, tasty wine, great selections & delicious food. Meet the chef and owner Rob, everyone super friendly and helpful. Very comfortable and inviting outside seating. Overall a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back! Keep up the great work

This is one of the three separate areas upstairs where you can sit and chill with friends while you enjoy their wine and food.

Having previously visited (and enjoyed) their other location, I was thrilled to see one opening in the more-accessible Sycamore. I am by no means a wine connoisseur; this is probably made clear by the fact that my favorite wines are always sweet. Luckily, POS caters to my tastes (and others as well). I have yet to dislike any of the sweet wines I have tried there. POS is the perfect place to come and check out different choices as well; you get a few free samples before you have to choose or pay for a full tasting. POS also offers a wine club, which allows you to receive a four-times-a-year selection of dry/semi-dry, sweet/semi-sweet, or mixed wines. While the prices vary a bit each time, they are reasonable at no more than $15 a bottle (and usually less than that). Another great innovation of both POS and Priarie State Winery is their Wine Downs--Friday-night events with wine and live music. These events are very popular and a great time to relax at the end of a long week. However, this is also the one area where I would rate POS as a 4/5 rather than 5/5. POS has minimal food options (bread, cheese and crackers are about it) and an early closing time (8 p.m. latest). This causes problems for anyone who wants to attend the Wine Downs because 1) there are few relevant restaurants nearby from which to bring in food (Mexican food and bar food are not the best wine pairings), 2) the store closes early enough that it is difficult to eat and get to spend much time relaxing, and 3) if you went out to dinner and then arrived at the Wine Down, you would not find a seat. Prairie on State is an excellent local winery option well worth checking out. If they could adjust their hours to stay open a little later and offer a few simple food options (basic pasta, paninis, or pizza options), they would be the perfect weekly hangout. As is? Still worth the visit--and the club.

Over a…read moreyear ago, I went in to buy around a dozenish bottles, the employee helping me suggested I join the wine club and I'm so happy I said yes! The discounts associated with the wine club are fantastic and I've been very happy with the "mix it up" option; a great selection of red, wine, and fruit wines. Whenever I have a party, my first stop is here to stock up on wines (Christmas and b-day shopping too;)). They are great about letting you taste the wines before buying and they have some very good deals on wine tasting. I highly recommend joining their wine club. I haven't been on a tour in Genoa yet but that's on my list of things to do at some point. For now, the Sycamore location is my main location for buying their wine. The store is nicely designed, everything is easy to find and the employees are extremely helpful (the main guy who works there -I'm terrible with names- has carried my wine to my car several times which I really appreciate). Overall, they know their wine, they're passionate about it and completely willing to help you. So glad they're in Sycamore (and Genoa).

Our waitress seemed overwhelmed with the amount of tables she was handling and just overall grumpy. I can understand that doing separate checks for a large group might not be fun, but she just seemed irritable the whole time until we gave her a decent tip. She directed us to get our own water from the self-serve station. I did like that I could do the wine flight from the table vs. they only offer the 6 wine tasting from the bar. I was a little disappointed that no one explained which wine was which, and I was left guessing when I ordered all sweet wines and a couple that looked very similar. When I later wanted to order a glass, I apparently picked the wrong one, but none of them were horrible so that was OK. I also ordered the small charcuterie plate, which was a perfect snack plate. Some of our party ordered flatbreads and wraps, which also looked really good, so I would definitely try this place again. This place doesn't seem like they're that good at accommodating large groups as they only have small round tables they had pushed together, but we made it work. They seemed a bit understaffed for a Saturday afternoon. If you like sweet wines, my favorite was the Sweet Purple Lady, followed by Blackberry. I took a bottle home.

We had the time of our lives, grape stomping, live music, food pairing, amazing vibes, meeting new people and a bunch of other fun. The admission was $10.00 which went towards the grape stomping. The grape stomping is a great way to dance away your stress. Everyone was adulting and socializing with one another. They had many activities for the adults and children. Art Station, Selfie Stations and lots of dancing. The Tasting Room was open for you to do a wine tasting. I fell in love with the Purple Lady wine. The wine slushies were the Big Hit of the day. Sable Creek has an Open Mic Night & Bingo Night. They have a nice selection of wines, slushies and a small food menu. I wish I lived closer to this Hidden Gem. This would be my mini getaway during the week. I put my stamp of approval. If you ever near Romeoville IL , be sure to stop here for some good wine, good vibes, music and nice people.
