    Rotolo Primavera

Successful birthday dinner! Made reservations since we had a bigger group coming and everything went very smoothly. For appetizers we shared the calamari, oysters, caprese salad, and the complimentary bread which all tasted so good. The oysters were not your typical oysters. They were loaded with cheese and bacon which masked much of the traditional oyster flavor and texture so even the non-oyster lovers enjoyed them. For my meal I had the rotolo primavera with added chicken. It came in a very decent portion and tasted delicious. I also tried the Brianna wine which was good! Amazing food, service, and environment. Hope to be back soon!

Went to visit the winery and have the full experience including tasting, tour and a meal. To start, it is easy to find and you can't miss the vineyards and building since there isn't anything around like it. Ample parking and beautiful patio on a day with perfect weather made for great initial impressions. As we walked in were greeted and taken to the bar for our tasting. It was a bit busy and the bar tenders seemed a little frazzled and definitely stretched thin. Nonetheless, Paul was super friendly and we enjoyed his jokes. The wine was not for us, flavors were either very tart or very sweet and just not very enjoyable so ended up tossing more than half of our tastings out. If you like wine and have a pallete this wouldn't be the place for you. We know this about ourselves and Midwest wines so we expected it, but we went for the experience. The tour was quick and a bit rushed due to lack of tasting bar support, but it was cool to see and hear more about their processes. We proceeded to dinner and tried quite a few things from the menu to get the full experience: Artichoke hearts - this was ok, could've used some garlic or something for flavor. Grilled octopus and calamari - grilled octopus was delicious. The squid was whole, and I was expecting it to be sliced grilled rings, but the issue came when we cut it and stuff was in the middle that we couldn't identify. Appeared the squid wasn't washed out before cooking. Baked clams - these were ok once we added some pepper Pollo vesuvio - 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts with a lot of sweet peas and 3 little pieces of potatoes were a sad looking plate. I guess I should've read the menu closer because I was expevting bone in, skin on roasted chicken to come out. The chicken was cooked well and juicy. Overall, the flavor was good. Pollo parm - nice crispy breading on the chicken breast, good flavor, pasta was a bit bland and again did not read details on menu because the expectation was spaghetti and not orichette. Overall, the staff here really makes the place enjoyable and would recommend to give it a try for yourself and see if you like it.

MAPLE PARK's Oyster Rockafeller, according to the waiter Darren: "That's how they make it there".

There is two locations, Batavia and Maple Park. Maple Park is the actual winery. Batavia is the Tasting Room Restaurant. I have been to both. The tasting attendant at the Maple Park location is amazing, his jokes are first rate and he is very friendly. The tasting attendant Michelle at the Batavia location is equally as friendly. The Batavias location service and food is exceptional, tasty, and service is extremely friendly. 5 star service to them. If you're looking for food and great tastes go to BATAVIA. The ambiance is amazing. Now if you're looking for Shrewd, un-intellectual, and very rude service, simply go to MAPLE PARK's restaurant just ask for DARREN. He will not be the most friendliest waiter of the year, but he will definitely provide terrible customer service. He didn't even ask if we were members. When asked about an entree which you can see below - of the same appetizer served at both Batavia and Maple Park, with the same price, I showed him the photos of how the different photos, he stated: "That's how we do things here" and snarled. Needless to say we will not be going back to the MAPLE PARK location, but will continue to patronize the Batavia location. Which is a-shame, as the Maple Park location is a nicely decorated place.

WOW! What an excellent place that Vito Brandonisio  has built here in Maple Park IL. The food is Superb and was actually better than some that we had in Florence Italy. Vito - the Son...met us at the door and was an excellent host throughout our dinner. The wine was a delicious compliment to our meal and we purchased two bottles of "Prairie Star" to take home. We highly recommend Acquaviva Winery and we will certainly be returning soon.

My spouse and I chose this restaurant for our 41st anniversary dinner. We had never been here before, so it was a "leap of faith". We were definitely not disappointed. The facility is very nicely done and it is a very welcoming atmosphere. But the food was even better. We had the artichoke appetizer, as well as the fried calamari. Both were more than ample, but were gone in no time. My spouse had one of the chicken dishes and loved it. I had the "salmon dish of the day", lightly crusted salmon stuffed with crab meat and shrimp (pictured). It was wonderful. Neither of us were able to finish our meals, but the made for great second meals today. We highly recommend this restaurant.

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue, Fishermen's Inn truly exceeded our expectations!…read more One of the biggest advantages of choosing this venue is that their food and drink are all in-house. This took a huge weight off our shoulders during the planning process, and they absolutely delivered. We received so many compliments from our guests about both the food and drinks. For hors d'oeuvres, we chose the bacon-wrapped dates, sweet potato and avocado bites, bruschetta, and buffalo chicken bites, our guests especially raved about the buffalo chicken bites and bacon-wrapped dates! We also added the mimosa service while we were getting ready, which was such a fun and thoughtful touch. The staff set everything up beautifully with cups, juice, champagne, and fruit for garnish, it was so cute and made the morning feel extra special. I am so happy that we made the decision to get ready at the venue! The boys had a great time playing bags and football on the patio while the girls got ready upstairs. Our day of coordinator, Tara, was beyond excellent. She helped us plan every detail down to the minute and brought up things I would have never even considered. She was kind, thoughtful, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire day and night. She struck the perfect balance, always there when we needed her, but never overbearing. I truly couldn't be happier with her support. The dining experience was another highlight. The dining room is absolutely stunning, the natural light that comes in from all of the windows and the view is stunning! Many guests mentioned how memorable the dinner service was, they present the meals in such an elegant way! We chose the Fishermen's Inn signature salad, creamy chicken and rice pilaf soup, chicken piccata, and salmon with pineapple mango salsa. Guests consistently told us the food was fresh, served warm, and perfectly portioned. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and offer so many beautiful spots for photos. Since we got married in October, having a strong indoor ceremony option was very important to us in case of bad weather. Fishermen's Inn gave us that peace of mind. We were lucky to have a perfect 75 degree day and held our dream outdoor ceremony, but I felt completely confident in the indoor backup as well. Our guests loved the outdoor cocktail hour on the patio, and many took that time to explore the grounds and take photos. The landscaping is clearly a priority, the property is incredibly well-maintained, and the fall mums were especially stunning! There was also plenty of parking for guests, which made things very convenient. Another feature we loved is how each part of the day, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception, can take place in different spaces. It keeps the experience feeling fresh and exciting for everyone. Fishermen's Inn truly sets couples up for success with their organized planning process and consistent check-ins. I am so grateful for their support and how seamless they made everything feel. They have truly thought of everything. We cannot recommend Fishermen's Inn enough, they went above and beyond in every way!

They were professional, accommodating, and genuinely excited for us, which made everything feel seamless. All the vendor arrivals and little details we had discussed in advance were carried out just as we imagined, which gave us so much peace of mind. The setting itself was breathtaking, and we've continued to receive compliments from guests and vendors on how beautiful, scenic, and welcoming the venue was. The food, drinks and staff was also raved about by our guests! We couldn't imagine a more perfect backdrop for our May wedding day and are so grateful to the entire team at Fishermen's Inn.

We had a vision of a place that combined natural beauty with a touch of vintage elegance, somewhere that felt both cozy and grand. After touring multiple venues and finding many that simply didn't fit our style, we discovered The Barn at Allen Acres. It was love at first sight, and our wedding planning journey took a delightful turn for the better. We had such an amazing experience that I felt the absolute need to write this article! Nestled in the serene countryside of Rock Falls, Illinois, The Barn at Allen Acres stands out as one of the most charming and versatile wedding venues in Illinois. As we arrived at the property, the peaceful surroundings and the majestic barn drew us in immediately. The barn's rustic charm, paired with an impressively well-maintained interior, made it the perfect spot to accommodate our nearly 200 guests. There was a welcoming, intimate atmosphere that made the venue feel like it was designed specifically for us. The space was not only ample but also flexible enough to bring our wedding day vision to life, whether that meant arranging tables for a banquet-style meal or setting up an outdoor dance floor for an unforgettable night of celebration. From the initial visit to the final goodbye at the end of our wedding day, The Barn at Allen Acres delivered FAR beyond our expectations. Guests continuously came up to us throughout the day to compliment the stunning setting. Several even mentioned how they wanted to host their own weddings or events there in the future. It's easy to see why; this barn wedding venue is truly a hidden gem, offering the perfect balance of rustic charm and modern convenience. Karen's Exceptional Hospitality Sets The Barn at Allen Acres Apart While the venue itself is undoubtedly spectacular, what truly made our experience exceptional was the owner, Karen. Wedding planning is a journey filled with excitement and stress, but Karen's support made everything so much easier. From day one, she was warm, inviting, and incredibly accommodating. It was clear that she genuinely cared about our wedding day, treating it as though it was as important to her as it was to us. Karen worked with us every step of the way, ensuring all our questions were answered and addressing every detail with care and enthusiasm. In a wedding industry where venues can often feel impersonal or even transactional, Karen's dedication was a breath of fresh air. Many wedding venues in Illinois come with a long list of strict rules and additional fees, but Karen was always flexible and understanding. Her problem-solving abilities shone through when unexpected challenges arose, and she quickly put us at ease by finding solutions and making sure everything was handled seamlessly. We never felt rushed or pressured, and there was never a doubt in our minds that Karen's top priority was to help us create the most beautiful and memorable day possible. She was truly invested in seeing us glow with happiness, and her joy was palpable as she shared in our excitement. An Idyllic Setting for Rustic Barn Weddings Near Rock Falls, IL The picturesque grounds of The Barn at Allen Acres provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The property's vintage charm is evident in every corner, from the beautifully decorated house on the grounds to the sprawling fields that nearly stretch endlessly under the sky. The house itself was a delightful bonus, offering an inviting space for getting ready, with decor that added a touch of nostalgia and elegance to the day. We loved the way it felt like stepping into a cozy, vintage retreat before joining our guests at the barn for the ceremony. The barn itself is not just large and impressive but also thoughtfully designed to host both intimate and larger gatherings. Our guests had plenty of space to move freely and comfortably, whether mingling over cocktails or dancing the night away. The rustic wooden beams and ambient lighting provided a warm atmosphere, while the modern amenities ensured that our guests felt at home. We even enjoyed a beautiful evening by the firepit, where the remaining guests gathered to relax and share stories as the night wound down. The barn had ample outlets for plugging in lighting, the caterer's food equipment, the DJ's collection of electronics, and more. There were also 3 bathrooms within the barn and an electronic lift for those needing a little extra assistance to get to the second floor of the barn where we performed the ceremony! The seemingly endless farm field surrounding the property made for incredible wedding photos--our photographer was having a "field day" (pun intended). There's something magical about a rustic wedding in the countryside, and the wide-open spaces gave us the perfect backdrop for timeless memories captured on camera. Additionally, the venue's convenient location made everything easy for
