Today we decided to stop in at breakfast at Whidbey's. Our first time here and I really enjoyed it! The center the restaurant is located in is pretty new and only half built out, so there is some construction going on around the restaurant but parking is still accessible. Host & Server were both very welcoming and took great care of us. There is bar seating, tables and booths...we took a booth. And they accommodated us with a booster seat for our infant which was super helpful. For drinks, I tried the pumpkin spice espresso martini -- it was fabulous, definitely need to come back for at least one more before the end of the season -- my husband had the Irish Coffee and said it was good too. For entree, I had the "Hog" Omelette. It had heavy meat to little egg ratio and I was totally ok with that. Delicious. I opted for hashbrowns over the house potatoes and was happy with my choice. I also had sourdough toast -- they locally source the bread (according to their menu)-- I usually don't eat all my toast but it was so good! However, My husband had the corned beef hash and unfortunately did not like it...he said it wasn't the typical meal he expected and had "too large of chunks"...I gave him half my omelette though and he was happy with that. We always come to this place for breakfast but one time three of us came and got seated immediately about twenty five minutes later our friend with a two year son arrived to join us three minutes later while our friend is having her breakfast a woman (maybe person in charge) came to our table saying "no under 21year old is allowed in this area pointing where we are seating and left without explaining the reason why, did not even bother to relocate us where a small child is allowed so we told our friend to just stop eating and we left the place. We were so embarrassed that we invited our friend to have breakfast with us and got treated inappropriately. NOT COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! read more

I've been pretty excited to try Whidbeys having driven by it so many times And having read pretty stellar reviews from fellow yelpers. But I will say there was some small disappointments in that their website does not indicate that you can make reservations or join the wait list on their Yelp page but even with four tables ahead, it was only about a 15-minute wait. We placed our order with a friendly server who spent a lot of time talking to another table after I had finished my water and at first I was a little agitated as I wanted my iced coffee and a refill on water but then she came over and explained that they were short on glasses which was the delay. I didn't end up getting my iced coffee until nearly when my food was ready, which although only $4 it made me feel as if I got less of the value in which I paid expecting to have at least 3 of them even though I still had two. I heard them tell other tables too that there was a delay on drinks due to not having enough glasses. The coffee itself was good, the service was good but their food was great! I got the scramble that has chicken sausage and it was delicious on top of their House potatoes mixed with tomatoes and bell peppers and egg. I really enjoyed that and their Mimosa flight was pretty on point. Five stars for the food and most the drinks. If it wasn't for the glass shortage and maybe a little more attention from the server, especially when I ran out of water waiting for coffee, then I probably would have given this five stars, but I'll definitely give them another shot. read more

Hollandaise sauce was lacking in flavor, and the corned beef was very much over cooked. The poached egg was overcooked as well. Hash browns had no flavor to them and needed salt and pepper. A family favorite spot for us!!!! We've come here several times for brunch and each time has always been consistent with their great food and excellent service. It does get packed here especially on the weekends but what I love is that they have a yelp wait list where you can put your name down while you're on your way to the restaurant. We've never waited for long a table because of that. The food here is absolutely delicious. Everything is made fresh to order with fresh ingredients. My favorite dish would have to be the breakfast burrito with the house potatoes. My husband loves getting the whole hog omelette and our son loves the Kids Mickey Mouse pancake. The staff are always very friendly. They check on us frequently making sure that everything is made to our liking and that our drinks are never empty. I definitely recommend checking this place out. Without realizing I was right in front of the place, I had this restaurant favorited for some time on Yelp. I had initially came to Florentine Café and decided to stop by as it's in the same shopping center. There's plenty of parking and the restaurant looks so inviting from the outside. I came in on a Tuesday afternoon about one hour before they were closing and was seated immediately as there were empty seats. The interior is open and spacious and plenty of space to sit inside as well as a bar. At the time I went into dine there were only about two ladies working in the front, but it was just about six tables total. The menu has a good selection of traditional breakfast items as well as some lunch favorites. Pricing is more affordable than its competitors so this was a win. I ordered the traditional Benny with the side of house potatoes and a traditional iced vanilla latte. I was so disappointed in the benny, as it was probably the saltiest breakfast item that I have ever eaten, I will blame that on probably the sauce or the ham. I could not finish my meal and ended up only eating one of the bennies. The potatoes had potential but they were cold so I didn't really enjoy it. My iced vanilla latte was something I was really looking forward to, but it turns out it was mostly milk. I dined in pretty quick and was out within 45 minutes - there were still about three tables left when I closed out my tab. As someone who likes to dine alone frequently, I was pretty disappointed in the service here - I only got checked in on once and it did not feel genuine as the lady was walking quickly to the kitchen and just so happened to ask if I was doing OK. I didn't realize that the waitress would pick up the tab so I went up to the bar and closed it out with another lady there and provided her the feedback saying how salty the Benedict's were - it was obvious as I didn't eat the other one. She was incredibly sweet and offered 50% off my meal, I felt hesitant to take that offer, but she insisted. She also encouraged me to come back and try the place again - I may as my end service was memorable. I do also like the concept that everything is fresh and nothing is frozen. Whidbeys was recommended to us by some friends so we figured we'd try it out. It's in a new area and there's still some construction going on but that wasn't a problem. The store is new and clean and there was plenty of parking. We were greeted right away and the staff was friendly. It wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. Our server was attentive and friendly. We all ordered a variety of different stuff and absolutely no complaints. Everything tastes good and was to order. My only gripe and this is the world we live in now but almost 6 bucks for 3 pieces of bacon and 10.50 for two pieces of French toast. This place has been open for awhile. Upon entering, you see the work station for drink orders & the staff preparing beverages, not what you would expect to see when you first walk into a restaurant. Some of my friends come here regularly and say the staff welcomes them back and recognizes them as regulars, so that's really nice, shout out to great employees! The walls are kind of bare, not much was paid attention to in the area of decor. I've been here a few times, and the service and food has been reliable and the food very good. My friend and I were going to go to Early Birds but because it was so packed and a long wait, as she was driving by she saw Whidbey's. I left Early Birds and met up with her which is about 6 min away. Thank God we came here it was a lot better than the menu at Early Birds. Not only that, this has better reviews. The food was amazing. Everything tasted great. I love for the same price of the most expensive pancakes you can get a trio of different pancakes and French toast to try. The cookies and cream were so delicious. Both are both so freaking fluffy. I couldn't believe how delicious they were, and they didn't taste super heavy. Still light and but can get a sweet tooth fix. The steak and eyes were like any other steak and eggs. The potatoes were really good. But other than that it was pretty basic steak and eggs. Fairly new breakfast eatery in the area. Went on a breakfast date here with my girlfriend and it was exactly what you expect, which is a good thing. We ordered the breakfast burrito and market bowls, which were both tasty. I'm a fan of the pricing here - about $40 was our bill for the two of us for two dishes and a drink (opposed to other breakfast places where I feel like you can run it upwards of $50). I was trying to wave someone down because I got the wrong order but my server was too busy talking. The server who wasn't my server had to come to my table to take my plate back. The manager came over to apologize which I appreciated about the wrong order. I hope the server gets a raise because she not only came to help me but I could hear her at her tables and she sounded like she cared about customer service and doing her job. I loved how the toast held its form without getting soggy and it wasn't too sweet which was the best part, second was the strawberry pancake and least was the Oreo, Oreo maybe would have been better if the Oreos were mixed inside. The Reuben was yummy the meat was super flavorful a little too much butter on the toast for me but still really yummy. The Benny was made well with the farm toast, the perfect poached egg with the jalapeño hollandaise made for the perfect bite. My family and I were looking for a place to eat breakfast before leaving Vegas on Veteran's Day (Monday) around 9:30am, and decided on this place. I ordered the Denver omelet with house potatoes, and substituted the toast with a cinnamon swirl pancake ($15.25 + $4.50). The others ordered the two egg breakfast ($13.95), breakfast sammie ($13.25), and southwest omelet ($17.50). My sister also got the seasonal pumpkin spice latte ($5.25). My dish was pretty good. Big chunks of ham, bell peppers and onions in my omelette. They use different colored potatoes for the house potatoes, which were seasoned well. My cinnamon swirl pancake was sweet, but not overly sweet, and balanced out my savory dish. The hash browns were also nicely crispy overall, but still tender inside, and the pumpkin spice latte was really yummy. The southwest omelet was tasty, too, but boy oh boy...SPICY. There was a decent amount of jalapeño in there and we were all hooing and hawing from trying it, lol. Good thing it came with avocado slices, but my mouth was still burning even after eating some of it. I liked that the side fruit were freshly cut (and big), but they weren't in season so couldn't really eat them. They actually forgot to add fruit to the two egg breakfast, but it was fine for that reason.
