I ordered the Malasada pancakes... it's exactly how you're envisioning them to taste. Flat, cripsy edges, fluffy inside with sprinkled sugar (added a side of strawberries). Order comes with (2) big ass cakes. The butter mochi cakes were really good too. I paired them with their tater tots and washed it down with black coffee. What would I have added... maybe ling hi powder? Maybe a filling? Nontheless, I'll be back to try other things off their menu. Get there early because it gets crowded quick.

Family-owned restaurant with the best (and only) Li Hing drink I've ever had. I left the Las Vegas strip for something I hadn't had there or in Miami. Hello Kanani's Cafe! Walked up to the door and the place was packed with locals, good call! I had the Butter Moochi Hotcakes and Kanani's Famous Locco Mocco. I left stuffed, highly satisfied and with a hug from the owner. Everyone there is family or almost family. Two places now on permanent rotation in LV, Maroon by Chef Kwame Onwuachi and Kanani's Cafe.

This place was in my collection to definitely try and it wasn't a disappointment. Great food, great service. It's a very cute, down to earth, mom and pop type cafe. The malasada or mochi pancakes are a must! Breakfast burrito was very good. Everything tasted fire.

Everything went well. We had to wait a good 30 minutes, there was so much people outside waiting And I could see why it's worth the wait. It's a little shop with the friendliest and happiest people who worked there making it a fun place to eat. so attentive everyone! My Husband and I went there for breakfast on his birthday. He had a spam and eggs. And I had the omelette with spam and rice It was a 10 out of 10 spam was perfect And the rice paired perfect with it. This was my first time trying this together. We will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. They have some pancakes on there that looked delicious.

Build your own omelette... spam, mushroom, cheese, green peppers.

Late review from last Saturday. Always a pleasure to support this Ohana and its small business. Never lacks service or quality. All staff from both foh to boh is super friendly. Was also nice to see other restaurant owners supporting the business.

This place seriously deserves all the 5 stars, and the line out the door! Tried Kanani's for breakfast with my mom for the first time today. Although there was a little bit of a wait (at 9AM!), I loved that there were ice cold water bottles in a cooler outside-- an incredibly kind and thoughtful touch especially considering how hot our summers are! The place is small, but inviting. 10 tables max with a small bar-seating area. We ended up ordering: -Loco Moco 10/10: the beef patties were tender, the gravy was flavorful without being too salty, and the mac salad literally tastes exactly like my grandma used to make it. -Da Boom Kanani 10/10: I got mine with Portuguese sausage and scrambled eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly, and reminded me of a breakfast I'd make at home. I upgraded to the butter mochi pancakes for $3 more. Super worth it. The pancakes are so flavorful that they barely need any syrup. There's a nice chewiness from the mochi flour without completely changing the texture. They were genuinely hard to stop eating lol. CJ was our server and he was absolutely wonderful. Very attentive, intuitive, and kind. Even though the place was packed, we never lacked for anything. Overall, you'd never know this place has only been open since January-- between the quality of food, packed tables, and level of service, you'd think they've been a beloved staple in the community for years. If you're in search of a breakfast spot that feels like a hug, Kanani's is that place.

    Must get Malasada Pancakes!

Came here on a Monday morning and was seated right away. Greeted Aloha by all the workers and everyone there was so nice. Great way to start the day. We ordered the omelet and malasadas pancakes and they were incredible! We were told to come back and try the mochi pancakes next time and that's exactly what we did the following Monday. Awesome food, can't wait to try the other items on the menu. The Iced Teas were good too. Thank you to both servers for the great recommendations. The ambiance is great too, great music and decorations!

Kanani's Cafe on Rainbow and Robindale has been getting some attention in the Southwest area since opening about five months ago. It's a smaller restaurant, so expect a wait if you're coming on a weekend. We arrived a little before 11:30 on a Sunday morning and waited about 20 minutes for our party of four. While we waited outside, we checked out the menu so we would have an idea of what to order when we got seated. I don't recommend parties much larger than 4, although 6 is possible but it gets tighter. * Kanani's Famous Loco Moco $16 with added mushrooms $2 - This came highly recommended and we couldn't agree more. The homemade burger patty has some great flavor all on its own, so that's a big win there. It comes with two eggs your way, a scoop of mac salad, and a bed of rice. We aren't the biggest fans of mac salad and should have asked if they could replace it with something else. * Podagee Sausage Benedict $14 - The hollandaise sauce was really good and contrasted nicely with the saltiness of the sausage. * Butter Mochi Hotcakes $12 - Another dish that came recommended and we decided to keep it as is. (Options to add fruit, whipped cream, etc. are offered.). We liked it on its own and it doesn't really need any syrup. * Corned Beef Hash $14 - I ordered this based on the positive comments from reviews and was a tad disappointed. It's canned corned beef and I guess it was my mistake to assume it wouldn't be. It was fine, but wasn't exceptional or anything. There are probably more specialty options to choose from and I should have done that instead. We were definitely curious about the Malasada Hotcakes too as it comes highly recommended. We'll have to save that for next time. Service was good - Kolby has a lot of great energy and it comes across very easily. The whole team is serving up Aloha spirit with a smile. There is a 3% charge for credit cards, which it looks like more restaurants are passing on to customers.

This place is a MUST TRY! Service was amazing...drinks were topped off and service was proactive. I literally didn't have to ask for anything. My husband and I got lucky and got seated pretty quick! The ambiance was clean and had a Hawaiian theme. We ordered Corn Beef Hash, Loco Moco and short Hotcakes. All the food was fresh and flavorful! Also, the food was cooked perfectly! The food was reasonably priced and portions were very generous. We had plenty of leftovers to take home! We will definitely be back to try more!

We decided to try this place because its next door to an indoor playroom for my grandkids. The food was great with no complaints. The service was excellent, they checked on us a few times, the owner also came to chat and joked with us. The ambiance was perfect. We had to wait about 15 minutes but it was worth it. My grandkids also enjoyed their meals. If you are in the area, check them out.

Wow, wow, wow!!! So glad my friends from Hawaii who now live in Vegas told me about this spot. Reminded me of being back home... anyhoo let's get to the food.. I ordered the Hawaiian Kine with over easy eggs to put over my rice of course and Portuguese Sausage which is my favorite but hard to get in the mainland. The breakfast was amazing but the highlight was the pancakes because they were Malasada Pancakes.. for the people who don't know you gotta try it but it's dough fried covered with sugar.. I know I know doesn't sounds fancy but trust me it's amazing! This was a one of one type of pancake because I've never heard of any place doing this so good for them. Anyhoo, if you're around Rainbow Blvd be sure to stop by and give them a try. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

Omg!!! Had to return because the food is so ono. Looking for a delicious Loco Moco, Kanani's Cafe had got to be the best Loco Moco in Vegas. The meat is seasoned well and the gravy has a lot of flavor. Tupac says it's the BEST he's ever had. We added mushrooms and onions which was perfect however, I would recommend to keep the onions big instead of cutting it small. The mushrooms were yummy. Service is always awesome and the Mochi pancakes is always a hit. Not sweet but so good. Stop by and give them a try.

Arrived today around 11AM, it was pretty packed and busy! My brother and i were immediately greeted with everyone's aloha spirit. The menu and food options is very straight to the point catering to what they truly offer in every delicious way. My brother got the Kananis Famous Loco Moco, i got the Cheehoo omelette, and we shared Butter Mochi Hotcakes. From when they brought out the food to us almost finishing our food, my brother and i couldn't stop saying "OH WOW". I cannot wait take my son here, he would enjoy this restaurant! Butter Mochi Hotcakes - 10/10 - MUST HAVE ! Kananis Famous Loco Moco - Two 6oz beef patties, with eggs, rice, & mac salad - 8.5/10 Cheehoo Omelette - Portuguese sausage, peppers, jalapeno, cheese, and added onions with sides of tots and wheat toast - 8/10 Other than how delicious the food was, huge recognition to the staff! Their aloha spirit was really warm and welcoming! I would over hear the staff talking to other customers dining in and i love how social and kind everyone is. Personable conversations, to making sure everyone is doing well, if anyone needed anything, smiling, etc. The staff plus the delicious food made everything so enjoyable. We definitely need more of this light in the world! Overall, the restaurant itself is 10/10! Already excited to come back and share with my family and loved ones. Thank you for taking care of my brother and i this trip Kananis Cafe!

I also got the mac spam and a double spam misubi. Sooooooo much rice and the double spam really equals to one regular spam size at other hawaiian places. The Mac spam was very bland and both the spams not worth its price. The inside was hot and looked old. The music was cool and the cashier, a young woman, looked severely depressed and unenthusiastic. Frank's macaroni salad wasn't the absolute best I've had, but it was genuinely good--surprisingly better than Zippy's, a true Hawaii staple. The loco moco was excellent: the eggs were perfectly cooked, bright yellow and so delicate they looked like they'd break if you stared at them too long. You get two juicy hamburger patties and two generous scoops of rice, making it easy to stretch into two solid meals. The spam musubi was fresh and still warm (we ordered right at opening at 11 AM and picked it up by 11:30). They added a touch of teriyaki sauce between the rice and spam, which I'm usually not a fan of, but it actually worked really well here. The salty, grilled spam still shone through. The spot itself is a classic Hawaiian BBQ cafe--simple, no-frills, with a mix of sit-down tables and to-go boxes flying out the door. You could tell they had just opened but were already deep into the lunch rush. Even so, service was impressively smooth. We were quoted about 20 minutes, but I walked in, hit a short line, and was back out the door with piping-hot food in under five minutes. His cousin couldn't stop raving about the food, so we decided to check it out for dinner last night. We ordered the Crackhead Chicken and Da "OG" Beef to share, and I also got a Spam musubi I had been craving. The musubi was HUGE and really hit the spot. We also ordered a side of Crackhead Chicken without the spice for our 1 year old, and she LOVED it. Normally she throws her food, but this time she actually ate it and kept making the cutest "yummy" faces the whole time. The moment I took my first bite of chicken, my reaction said it all. The flavor was INCREDIBLE! It had a perfect balance of sweetness from the coconut and a nice kick from the spices. Everything worked so well together, and the chicken itself was unbelievably moist and juicy. I also loved that the meat was served over the rice, allowing for all the juices to soak in. The rice was soft, flavorful, and just as satisfying. The macaroni salad was hands down my favorite compared to any Hawaiian BBQ spot I've tried. I also had a few bites of the beef, which had an amazing flavor and just the right amount of char to elevate it even more. The only thing that didn't stand out to me was the coleslaw, but we found out later that you can substitute for extra macaroni salad for an additional 50 cents. We will definitely do that next time! Overall, we had a fantastic experience and will absolutely be back whenever we are in the area.
