I can't believe I forgot to review this place. I came last month and the restaurant can get pretty packed on weekends since there are only a few tables, so expect a short wait outside. It's absolutely worth it! The owner is incredibly sweet, and the food is delicious. They truly understand the meaning of hospitality, and you can feel the warm aloha from the moment you arrive. The hotcakes came highly recommended, but we decided to go with a traditional Hawaiian breakfast instead. I ordered the Hawaiian Kine with Portuguese sausage, eggs, and rice, and it was delicious with generous portions. The atmosphere is family-friendly, welcoming, and truly feels like ʻohana. I ordered the Malasada pancakes... it's exactly how you're envisioning them to taste. Flat, cripsy edges, fluffy inside with sprinkled sugar (added a side of strawberries). Order comes with (2) big ass cakes. The butter mochi cakes were really good too. I paired them with their tater tots and washed it down with black coffee. Everything went well. We had to wait a good 30 minutes, there was so much people outside waiting And I could see why it's worth the wait. It's a little shop with the friendliest and happiest people who worked there making it a fun place to eat. so attentive everyone! My Husband and I went there for breakfast on his birthday. Although there was a little bit of a wait (at 9AM!), I loved that there were ice cold water bottles in a cooler outside-- an incredibly kind and thoughtful touch especially considering how hot our summers are! We ended up ordering: -Loco Moco 10/10: the beef patties were tender, the gravy was flavorful without being too salty, and the mac salad literally tastes exactly like my grandma used to make it. -Da Boom Kanani 10/10: I got mine with Portuguese sausage and scrambled eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly, and reminded me of a breakfast I'd make at home. I upgraded to the butter mochi pancakes for $3 more. Super worth it. The pancakes are so flavorful that they barely need any syrup. There's a nice chewiness from the mochi flour without completely changing the texture. They were genuinely hard to stop eating lol. CJ was our server and he was absolutely wonderful. Very attentive, intuitive, and kind. Even though the place was packed, we never lacked for anything. It's a smaller restaurant, so expect a wait if you're coming on a weekend. We arrived a little before 11:30 on a Sunday morning and waited about 20 minutes for our party of four. While we waited outside, we checked out the menu so we would have an idea of what to order when we got seated. I don't recommend parties much larger than 4, although 6 is possible but it gets tighter. * Kanani's Famous Loco Moco $16 with added mushrooms $2 - This came highly recommended and we couldn't agree more. The homemade burger patty has some great flavor all on its own, so that's a big win there. It comes with two eggs your way, a scoop of mac salad, and a bed of rice. We aren't the biggest fans of mac salad and should have asked if they could replace it with something else. * Podagee Sausage Benedict $14 - The hollandaise sauce was really good and contrasted nicely with the saltiness of the sausage. * Butter Mochi Hotcakes $12 - Another dish that came recommended and we decided to keep it as is. (Options to add fruit, whipped cream, etc. are offered.). We liked it on its own and it doesn't really need any syrup. * Corned Beef Hash $14 - I ordered this based on the positive comments from reviews and was a tad disappointed. It's canned corned beef and I guess it was my mistake to assume it wouldn't be. It was fine, but wasn't exceptional or anything. There are probably more specialty options to choose from and I should have done that instead. We were definitely curious about the Malasada Hotcakes too as it comes highly recommended. We'll have to save that for next time. Service was good - Kolby has a lot of great energy and it comes across very easily. The whole team is serving up Aloha spirit with a smile. Omg!!! Had to return because the food is so ono. Looking for a delicious Loco Moco, Kanani's Cafe had got to be the best Loco Moco in Vegas. The meat is seasoned well and the gravy has a lot of flavor. Tupac says it's the BEST he's ever had. This restaurant is hands down amazing! My daughter and I have been coming here almost once a week and they have never disappointed us. We get something different every time we went and it wasn't planned. It was just what our cravings told us. We've had pancakes, corned beef hash, kalua quesadilla, breakfast burrito, eggs and bacon, Kanani burger, fries, chop steak...you get the picture. Every item just hits the spot. You really can't go wrong with anything you decide to get. They are all delicious. The one must have item that we both love and always get is: the gravy. We mix it with rice, dip our fries or burger in it, and even pour it over the quesadilla. It's that good and I highly recommend ordering a side of it to go with your meal. You'll thank me later. Everyone at Kanani's are amazing. They are all super chill, have lots of aloha and I never seen any of them stress when it gets a little crazy. I ordered the Boom Kanani combo with butter mochi pancakes, over-medium eggs, a slice of ham, and rice, and everything hit the spot. Got to come here on their soft opening day. The moment we walked in we were seated and greeted. All aloha spirit in here I loved it. The interior is beautiful and so welcoming, reminded me of all the little cafes in Hawaii with beautiful artwork and amazing vibes. I started off with the açaí bowl which usually I don't care for but this was delicious and packed to da maxxx. The granola was so flavorful and the fruits were perfect. Afterwards I had the butter mochi hotcakes and let me tell you... I didn't even need syrup, this was loaded with so much flavor and was so buttery it just melted it your mouth. We were shook.
