They are a fast pace business with really good food. I had them to cater a few things for party.

Still fantastic! Accommodating takeout only currently but definitely worth a stop by!

Nothing special. Just good ingredients and ok food. It's just pretty good. I like their chicken tenders and my dad loves their burgers.

Place is fantastic! This is the second time here. Food great! Hometown feel, nothing fancy. I had a…read morefried bologna sandwich the first time here and it was the best. Definitely a place to come if you just like sandwiches, burgers.

But I also like to be truthful. The server was friendly. The place seemed clean. The food was a shade away from decent on the low side. The fries were warm, but way too salty. I could feel a blanket of salt on each fry that I picked up. It felt like the cook had salted them, walked away for a minute and then came back to salt them again not remembering he had already salted them. I was going to get a burger, but I never was a big fan of the burgers there when it was Hwy. 55. I got fried calabash shrimp instead. The bar is low when you order fried shrimp. Just fry them right. Well, these shrimp were fried too much and were hard and tasteless. I am not saying I will not go back. I was with friends who wanted to go there and I was fine trying it out. I do not recommend it though. My apologies to the owners and staff. Please take this review and others to heart though.

We didn't have to ask or search for anything. I would definitely recommend coming here. It's a wonderful experience and the prices are reasonable.

"Retreat? More like Retreat from Flavor."…read more If you're looking for a place with gorgeous views, a nice interior, and food that tastes like it was prepared by a distracted toddler with access to a microwave -- look no further! Let's start with the espresso martini, which arrived looking like it had just lost a bet with a gallon of skim milk. It tasted like someone whispered the word "coffee" into a glass of dairy and then threw in three coffee beans to give the illusion of effort. Fancy? Sure. Flavorful? Absolutely not. I've had stronger coffee vibes from a candle. Didn't get any appetizers, probably a blessing in disguise. Straight to the pasta, which came out looking like it had just been scooped out of a kid's menu at a bowling alley birthday party. Imagine Chef Boyardee got promoted and immediately overcharged for it. That's the vibe. As for the service, it was slow enough that I had time to consider starting a new life as a lake hermit. When it came time to pay, I literally had to write down my order to help the server -- who then still managed to create a culinary version of musical chairs with our table's meals. Everyone got someone else's dish, which might've been fun if it were a potluck. It was not. The scenery? Gorgeous. The inside of the restaurant? Super nice. Honestly, if they'd served the ambiance instead of the food, this would've been a five-star experience. But alas, The Retreat truly lived up to its name -- I retreated straight to the nearest gas station for a Lunchable and some dignity.
