There was only one server and he seemed to be very busy trying to fill the takeout orders and waiting tables for the ones coming in for dining in. Ambience was casual and relaxed. Since I made a trip to Sally's Apizza in Connecticut, my reference for pizza has shifted from Neapolitan-style pies to that slightly charred, thin crust pizza that has this incredible crisp, yet chewy crust. My Siano's pizza crust was maybe 1/8 inch thick under the toppings yet the underside was crispy and slightly chewy, and well done. The pepperoni, the homemade meatballs, sauce and cheese blend made music on my tastebuds while the amalgam of texture invited me to each next bite. I ordered my pizza as a pick-up with a phone call, and in the 15+ minutes it took me to drive through Marvin and Waxhaw passing through horse farms, the pizza was finished right on top. I slightly lifted the lid on the box to vent any steam and maintain the pizza's texture. When I lifted the lid once I arrived home, I was greeted by a work of art. Well done Siano's!

On the cheese sticks there was so little cheese there were large spaces of dough only. The bread was hard and too thin. It was like eating hard crackers with large spots of absolutely zero cheese. The pizza was ordered with extra cheese. It came like regular cheese and was disappointing to pay $5 extra for cheese that looked like the regular amount. We ordered a large and it was truly a large which was nice. The meatballs were good.

The restaurant is casual yet comfortable while the customer service is just as dynamic as their food. The staff was very welcoming, which heightened the experience. The SW BBQ Chicken Salad (Grilled chicken coated in their homemade BBQ sauce, served on a bed of salad mix with black beans, fried corn, and egg, sprinkled with spicy French fried onions) had fresh, crisp veggies, an excellent combination of flavors, but the star of the show was the BBQ chicken. The sauce on the chicken was irresistibly delicious. I loved the Build Your Own Burger (BYOB) option, which I loved because my burger was cooked to perfection MY WAY. The Egg Salad Sandwich (Fresh, homemade egg salad with your choice of bread) was enjoyable and nostalgic not only because of the fresh ingredients, but also because of the grilled sourdough bread. The egg salad did not have sweet relish, which is how I am used to eating it, but it did not impact the taste.

With a name like Southern Salads, you would think they had a salad with Iceberg lettuce…read more Nope, they do not! I read thru the description of each salad and their 'spring mix' includes just about everything but iceberg lettuce. So disappointed, right? I just don't understand this trend today around calling something a salad with no real iceberg lettuce. I had to be in the area for business so I stopped in to pick-up a 'to go' menu. There was a real nice young lady there and she said 'we are out, we are getting ready to come out with a new menu'. I asked her specifically about the salads not having iceberg and she confirmed that was the case. So sorry, she said. No big deal really, I know where to get them. I thought to myself you should change the name of your restaurant because you don't have Southern Salads. I'm born and raised right here in the area and I bet you ask any real southerner what a salad is made with and they will say lettuce, real lettuce, not arugula, not spinach or any one of a bunch of random green things you throw in there. I'm sorry to rant, but if the name was anything other than Southern Salads, I would shut up. I did order a patty melt. It was just OK.
