    Chicken salads

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasted great. The restaurant was clean as well. I am dinging one star because we had received a "free protein" coupon which we understood as Free Protein. But when we got there, it was only $1.90 off from the protein which was $3.90. It isn't a lot of money but I don't appreciate the false promotion. There weren't any fine prints that said it was only a 1.90 discount. This was corporate's mismanagement, not the staff's fault. .... updating review. Customer service reached out to "rectify" the error, but offered a coupon "IF" I signed up to their loyalty program ‍ Customer loyalty requires good experience first, not the other way around.

    Regular Salad

There are multiple locations of this local salad chain, but the downtown one is weekday only so I made the trek out to this one because I really wanted a salad. It was a robust corner shop near transit and with easy street parking. Where I criticized another fast casual place recently for making it unclear where to go to order food, this place had a pun for that. Their strategy is an unlimited ingredient bowl; the only upcharge is for protein. There are a lot of ingredients and they looked to be quality. Each scoop is quite small, but you can load up a bowl with whatever you want, and even though in my modesty I started to feel like I was overdoing it, I received encouragement to go for more. Although I did not pursue any protein add-ons, my final salad was quite substantial, and was served in the metal bowl it was prepared in, which I like to reduce waste. At the end, I was offered two dressings and chose buttermilk ranch and sundried tomato, and they kind of mixed it all together, which I thought was a little ridiculous until I tasted it. Buttermilk and dill is one of the things I like about Southern cuisine. To top it off, I was offered a delightful little croissant, which always helps for mopping up dressing and such. Drink options included juices and teas; I preferred the black tea to an unsweetened one with fruit flavoring. I was offered a coupon on my receipt to come back. Between that and the welcoming service I received, this was clearly a place that wanted my business, and I'd certainly be happy to find an excuse to return for one of the other locations.

Even with all the great meals I've had so far in Charlotte, sometimes you just want to have a big, healthy, salad (okay, maybe not everyone, but I certainly do). Enter Salata - crafted salad kicked up a notch. I'm familiar with similar businesses; where I live I frequent several CoreLife Eateries, and I see there's some of those in other cities in NC. My advice to them: Do not open one in Charlotte, Salata will run rings around you. It's just a great experience, having friendly people behind the counter build your salad ingredient by ingredient (with up charges for your protein(s) and certain extras such as avocado). Their "regular" bowl would be classified as "large" where I'm from. Those fountain teas and lemonades are pretty interesting too. If I lived or worked nearby, I could eat here every day and never get tired of the food and drink.

    Hard to find parking

I'm giving it 4-stars for now only because of the lack of parking spaces available and there's only one small door in/out as it relates to parking. It's located directly in front of the scaleybark Iight rail station and a brand new residential complex. Inside it's clean, bright, neat and organized. The food looks fresh and there's a FULL staff awaiting your arrival. They're knowledgeable about the menu and all the food looks fresh! One of the managers personally came to greet me. I had a to-go order of soup and salad. I had to stop eating and create this review. It tastes and smells delicious! Scroll through my pics and videos. If the service remains the same, I'll definitely return. Very pleased.

Shoutout to Journi at Salatas for the amazing customer service when building my salad! This is my second time here this week and it's just as amazing as the 1st. So many fresh options and the customer service and cleanliness is just amazing!

What a great location! This was my first time at Salata. I got the build your own regular salad. There's so many options to choose from. Must get the Spicy chicken protein, jalapeno avocado dressing, AND THE CROISSANT!! Bussinnnn. Service was great, everyone was so sweet. 10/10. Get Schnitz-faced!!…read more In Yafo Kitchen has become my go-to spot in Charlotte, largely because of one dish: the schnitzel. If you're a schnitzel fan, stop reading and order it. Two generous pieces arrive shatteringly crisp with a beautifully seasoned panko crust that's never greasy. The chicken stays tender and juicy, and the fresh lemon wedges bring everything to life. It's one of those dishes that keeps pulling me back. My favorite side is the shell macaroni and cheese. Rich, creamy, and unapologetically indulgent. Together, the schnitzel and mac and cheese are comfort food perfection. I also love the self-serve organic Tractor beverages, the open kitchen concept, and how consistently clean the restaurant feels. The team is friendly, the food comes out quickly, and you can watch everything being prepared right in front of you. Parking is easy thanks to the shared shopping center lot, the outdoor patio along East Boulevard is pleasant, and the portions are generous for the price. Clean restaurant. Friendly people. Consistently delicious food. Yafo is one of those places that simply gets it right. Life is too short not to eat well, Charlotte.

The walls are a beautiful mediteranean ocean blue and it decor just reminds me of dining in a cozy family run restaurant. Not sure if it is but it gives off that vibe. There's a big covered outdoor seating area that looks like it could be fun. But we ate inside since it was so hot. The food was delicious! Oh my gosh. My husband got the Gyro dinner with lamb, rice, salad and pita bread. I got two appetizers as my dinner. Grape leaves and kabobs. I like how the tomatoes and onions were sautéed over the beef. The service was attentive throughout our visit, and I appreciated that our server offered recommendations. They were also kind enough to refry our fries when they came out a bit mushy, which was a thoughtful touch. We started with the fried calamari, which was crispy and served with a delicious dipping sauce that really elevated the dish. I'd give it an 8/10. The Greek salad was fresh and loaded with peppers, tomatoes, and feta cheese. It was a solid, classic Greek salad, though nothing particularly stood out about it so I'd give it a 6/10. For our entrée, we ordered the Meat Trio, which came with chicken, pork, and lamb shavings, along with vegetables, pita bread, and rice, as well as the Mad Greek Salad with chicken. The presentation was great, and the portion size was generous. The lamb wasn't my favorite, but the pork was well-seasoned and full of flavor. The chicken was juicy, tender, and had a nice color. The rice was a bit bland on its own, but it paired much better with the tzatziki and the rest of the meal. The Meat Trio - 8/10 ; Mad Greek Salad with Chicken - 10/10. Overall, it was an enjoyable dining experience, and I'd come back to try some of their other entrées!

The chicken skewers were especially great during earlier visits -- very moist, flavorful, and something we specifically came back to order again. Unfortunately, our last visit was really disappointing. The chicken was extremely overcooked and very dry compared to prior visits. The brussel sprouts were also undercooked and mostly raw. It's also worth noting they do not take reservations for parties under six, which can make planning ahead difficult during busy times. It was frustrating because we know the food can be much better based on our previous experiences. If the kitchen were more consistent, the rating would be very different.

The menu leans Latin-American with some Southern influence, and you can tell there's real intention behind the food--not just trendy plating. A few dishes that really stand out: * CrispyPan Seared Chicken - super clean execution, great char, and balanced with bright, fresh flavors. It's simple but done right. * Fried Beef Tacos - easily a must-order. Crispy, rich, and layered with acidity so it doesn't feel heavy. * Ceviche - fresh, citrusy, and well-seasoned. Fun dish that's actually executed well--not just a gimmick. The atmosphere is just as strong as the food--high energy, great patio, and a space that feels alive without being overwhelming. It's the kind of place you can take a team, a date, or just roll in after work and still feel like you made the right call.
