This place has a lot to give, you get your salad base and then you pay extra for proteins, you get a croissant or pita for free with any salad, and all the vegetable toppings are free as well. It's on the pricier side since I ended up paying about $20 for a regular salad with seasoned chicken and quinoa. The quality is fresh and the cookies were doughy and tasty as well! Croissants surprisingly were airy and crispy on the outside, so good! Place was clean and staff was very kind to guide me as I ordered.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh and tasted great. The restaurant was clean as well. I am dinging one star because we had received a "free protein" coupon which we understood as Free Protein. But when we got there, it was only $1.90 off from the protein which was $3.90. It isn't a lot of money but I don't appreciate the false promotion. There weren't any fine prints that said it was only a 1.90 discount. This was corporate's mismanagement, not the staff's fault. .... updating review. Customer service reached out to "rectify" the error, but offered a coupon "IF" I signed up to their loyalty program ‍ Customer loyalty requires good experience first, not the other way around.

There are multiple locations of this local salad chain, but the downtown one is weekday only so I made the trek out to this one because I really wanted a salad. It was a robust corner shop near transit and with easy street parking. Where I criticized another fast casual place recently for making it unclear where to go to order food, this place had a pun for that. Their strategy is an unlimited ingredient bowl; the only upcharge is for protein. There are a lot of ingredients and they looked to be quality. Each scoop is quite small, but you can load up a bowl with whatever you want, and even though in my modesty I started to feel like I was overdoing it, I received encouragement to go for more. Although I did not pursue any protein add-ons, my final salad was quite substantial, and was served in the metal bowl it was prepared in, which I like to reduce waste. At the end, I was offered two dressings and chose buttermilk ranch and sundried tomato, and they kind of mixed it all together, which I thought was a little ridiculous until I tasted it. Buttermilk and dill is one of the things I like about Southern cuisine. To top it off, I was offered a delightful little croissant, which always helps for mopping up dressing and such. Drink options included juices and teas; I preferred the black tea to an unsweetened one with fruit flavoring. I was offered a coupon on my receipt to come back. Between that and the welcoming service I received, this was clearly a place that wanted my business, and I'd certainly be happy to find an excuse to return for one of the other locations.

Even with all the great meals I've had so far in Charlotte, sometimes you just want to have a big, healthy, salad (okay, maybe not everyone, but I certainly do). Enter Salata - crafted salad kicked up a notch. I'm familiar with similar businesses; where I live I frequent several CoreLife Eateries, and I see there's some of those in other cities in NC. My advice to them: Do not open one in Charlotte, Salata will run rings around you. It's just a great experience, having friendly people behind the counter build your salad ingredient by ingredient (with up charges for your protein(s) and certain extras such as avocado). Their "regular" bowl would be classified as "large" where I'm from. Those fountain teas and lemonades are pretty interesting too. If I lived or worked nearby, I could eat here every day and never get tired of the food and drink.

I'm giving it 4-stars for now only because of the lack of parking spaces available and there's only one small door in/out as it relates to parking. It's located directly in front of the scaleybark Iight rail station and a brand new residential complex. Inside it's clean, bright, neat and organized. The food looks fresh and there's a FULL staff awaiting your arrival. They're knowledgeable about the menu and all the food looks fresh! One of the managers personally came to greet me. I had a to-go order of soup and salad. I had to stop eating and create this review. It tastes and smells delicious! Scroll through my pics and videos. If the service remains the same, I'll definitely return. Very pleased.

Shoutout to Journi at Salatas for the amazing customer service when building my salad! This is my second time here this week and it's just as amazing as the 1st. So many fresh options and the customer service and cleanliness is just amazing!

As someone who spent years in the San Francisco Bay Area, I really missed having reliable…read moreMediterranean and Greek options when I moved to Charlotte. One of my favorite spots back then was Nick the Greek--the bowls were simple, flavorful, and consistently satisfying. So naturally, I went on a little search mission here to find something that could scratch that same itch. That's how I landed at Yaffo Kitchen. Close, but no cigar--but still very good. I visit both the Dilworth location off East Boulevard and the Plaza Midwood spot fairly often, and they've become dependable places when I'm craving Mediterranean flavors. The atmosphere is casual, bright, and welcoming. I especially appreciate the option to sit inside when it's blazing hot outside, and when the weather is nice, their covered patio with umbrellas is a great place to linger over a meal. Now let's talk about the schnitzel--because that's the star for me. I know schnitzel isn't the first thing people expect at a Mediterranean-style restaurant, but they do it right. It's made to order, thin, crispy, and coated in panko, served with a fresh slice of lemon that brings everything together. I usually pair it with a side salad, but if the mac and cheese is piping hot that day, that's my backup plan. Another thing I really enjoy is their drink selection. They carry Tractor beverages--non-carbonated organic teas made with cane sugar and no high-fructose corn syrup or preservatives. There are several flavors to choose from, and they're refreshing without being overly sweet. It's a small detail, but one I genuinely appreciate. I've also had the roasted chicken, which was surprisingly excellent--juicy, well-seasoned, and satisfying without being heavy. And the pita? Warm, soft, and dangerously easy to keep eating. One lesson I've learned the hard way: edit yourself when building a bowl. The first few times I went, I got excited and piled on too many toppings, and everything blended into one big, goopy situation where you couldn't really taste anything distinctly. It's like wearing all your favorite accessories at once--individually they're beautiful, but together they compete with each other. Less really is more here, and once you find the right balance, the flavors shine. Prices are reasonable for the quality, service is quick, and the restaurants are consistently clean and well-run. I believe they offer beer and wine as well, though I usually stick to the teas. While I'm still on the hunt for that exact bowl I used to love back in California--simple, balanced, and unforgettable--Yaffo Kitchen has definitely earned a regular spot in my rotation. Check it out, experiment with the menu, find your palate's favorites, and remember: life is too short not to eat well.

The kids-eat-free deal made it even better, and those $12 mimosa carafes? Total steal. Service was friendly, though it slowed down a bit when the rush hit, but we didn't mind. The menu leans Latin-American with some Southern influence, and you can tell there's real intention behind the food--not just trendy plating. A few dishes that really stand out: * CrispyPan Seared Chicken - super clean execution, great char, and balanced with bright, fresh flavors. It's simple but done right. * Fried Beef Tacos - easily a must-order. Crispy, rich, and layered with acidity so it doesn't feel heavy. * Ceviche - fresh, citrusy, and well-seasoned. You can tell they're not cutting corners here. * Street Corn (Elote) - bold, messy, and exactly what you want it to be. * Gator Bites - crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. Fun dish that's actually executed well--not just a gimmick. The atmosphere is just as strong as the food--high energy, great patio, and a space that feels alive without being overwhelming. It's the kind of place you can take a team, a date, or just roll in after work and still feel like you made the right call. Service is typically on point too--friendly, quick, and they keep things moving even when it's busy, which matters. Only thing that throws people off sometimes is parking, but don't let that stop you: There is parking behind the restaurant if the main lot is full. Overall, this is one of those spots that hits consistently--good food, strong execution, and a vibe that keeps people coming back.
