Had a reservation for 7 to celebrate a bridal brunch. This was the perfect place for a light and healthy brunch! We started with a carafe of mimosas for the table, BYO so we were able to choose our juice of choice. The mimosas were champagne heavy with a splash of pomegranate juice, just the way I like them. I had the kale Caesar wrap with a side of greens. I loved the dressing on the greens! I wish the Caesar wrap came with more dressing but the kale was soft and there was a lot of chicken in the wrap! After brunch we headed over to the coffee bar. I was very impressed with all of their seasonal lattes. I ordered their anniversary special dot cake latte. The latte wasn't the best, the sprinkles were the saving grace. I would definitely eat here again!
I have no words this is such an amazing place! Everything is healthy, organic, and it's easy to know you are putting good things into your body. It's a restaurant and convenience store all bundled into one! Most of the restaurant items are organic or grass fed. It's easy to choose something on the menu because you can specify if you have any allergies or modify easily! I got the quinoa breakfast bowl and sometimes I just catch myself thinking about it because it's that good. It's savory topped with chipotle aïoli!
Truffle Fries (5/5): Thin and crispy, these were great fries both in terms of texture and flavor. The aoili paired nicely with the fries too. Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (3/5): Not spicy at all and also not enough honey flavor. There was way too much of the soft scrambled egg, and it wasn't a good fit for the sandwich. The fried chicken was crispy but there was something about the flavor that I wasn't a huge fan of. RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)
The strawberry fields forever drink literally changed my life. This is the best latte I've ever had. I'm not a daily coffee drinker at all, but after trying this drink for the first time, I've literally been going every single day. I also love the spicy caesar wrap!!! So good. I'm now a regular.
My new favorite fast casual place in Charlotte! I don't really change my order here, so I always get the Five Star Steak sandwich (minus mayo), sub for a side of watermelon salad, and add a pasta salad as well if I'm feeling super hungry. Love all those things every single time, they're soooooo yummy. The steak sandwich is sweet, yet savory, a perfect combo (I don't like mayo much, so I always get it without because I think the fig jam and tomatoes gives enough flavoring). The watermelon salad is so refreshing, and love the "bite" the pickled red onions and feta give it. The pasta salad is filling and yummy, though I do always pick around the olives (olives aren't my fave) - the combo with the corn and sweet potatoes is very unique. Service is always friendly here. When I've sat inside at the bar, I've had very fast and kind service. Also yummy mimosas with the right orange juice to sparkling wine ratio. When I've ordered to go, it's exactly as I ordered it, and everyone is kind when I'm picking it up. The South End location can get a bit busy on the weekends, but I was there on a Sunday mid afternoon last time, and there was plenty of bar seating still available. Whenever I'm hungry for something fast casual now, this is my go-to spot!
Went on a quiet Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crazy busy so it was nice to sit, eat, and relax. The beans still had a slight bite to them rather than fully soft. I did like how they had options on how you wanted to "Build Your Own" espresso martini. I did Tequila instead of Vodka.
Arguably one of the best coffees I have ever had in my life -- strawberry fields forever is stunning and so nice I went back TWICE. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming -- both times we were greeted upon entrance to the shop, they helped us decide on what we wanted, and were incredibly knowledgeable! You can sit inside, outside, or at the bar. The vibe is extremely chill and perfect for a quick coffee date or a bite to eat. PLUS ITS LOCAL!!!!!!
I don't know what they did today but this was the best smash burger they have ever made. Amazing char and super well placed ingredients. Wow. The server was great, restaurant was clean and management was attentive. I'm so excited to go back.
Stopped in for a quick breakfast while visiting my friend in Charlotte. It was very cute inside with a little grocery of organic food and drink. The breakfast sandwich has great flavor, the bagel and ciabatta bread could have had more flavor. Bandito burrito has a hash brown in it and had a nice Chipotle aioli.
Honestly so good! The truffle fries were the star of the show for sure. Good service and a variety of options as well.
Came here since it's near the office. It's big space provides lots of seating options. They have barstools/table at the windows (great for solo dining) and tables throughout the side and back areas. You order and then they'll call your name when order is ready for pick up at the station by the register. There is also a full bar. I haven't had any of their drinks but wanted to note it. I always get the chicken caesar salad wrap and truffle fries. The wrap is dry af! I usually ask for an extra dressing or 2 so that I don't choke. The chicken is grilled and appears to be the frozen kind. Not fresh chicken. Bland, the flavor comes from the dressing. The truffle fries are my favorite part when cooked well. Not included with the wrap, but I add it on the side to be full. They're shoestring width and have the right amount of flavor and parmesan cheese. Sometimes they can be overcooked and appears brown instead of golden. They have an app for online orders. Good if you want to order ahead and pick up without waiting. And you earn points. Overpriced. The value for what they offer doesn't align. What I mentioned above would be around $20. I come here for convenience but it's not often that I do.
Such a fun, eclectic spot! The Salted Melon has the coolest atmosphere with gifts, books and all kinds of unique sweets & goodies to browse while you're there. The spacious bar area is cute and there are plenty of cozy places to sit if you're dining in or just stopping by for coffee or a drink. We decided to grab one of the window seats, which was perfect for enjoying our food while people watching outside. I absolutely loved my Chicken Caesar Wrap & kale salad: both were fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Their homemade lemonades are also a must try. Thank you for a great lunch; would absolutely come back! read more

Yuminess: 7/10 Allergy Safety: 7/10 Price: 4/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Overall review: Cute retro-ish vibe; love the small plants/flowers on the tables; very kind and engaging service. Food is pretty solid with decent allergy-safe options, but it is overpriced (sandwich with fries was $20). I wouldn't come back for a meal, but willing to revisit to try their drinks. Detailed breakdown: I've been waiting to try Salted Melon for awhile, and it certainly is a cute spot. I loved the retro-ish vibe, the plants all around, the comfy seating, and the overall layout. Definitely the right vibes for catching up with a friend. Their Five Star Steak sandwich was pretty good. Had nice flavors overall and their fries were solid. It was also nice to see plenty of gluten-free options. However, the price point is definitely high. It was $20 for the sandwich plus fries (sandwiches only come with a side of artisan greens, and there's an upcharge for fries). Service was great, though! Very nice group of employees when I went, who were happy to help with any questions. Due to the price, I wouldn't come back for a meal; however, I'd love to try their drinks and just hang out with a friend in their chill space. read more
I actually come here pretty often for a matcha or an iced latte, pretty much for a beverage--but this was my first time trying the food. I ordered the spicy chicken Caesar wrap and appreciated the option of a gluten-free tortilla--it's always nice to see places offering alternatives like that. That said, the wrap itself was a little underwhelming. The portion felt smaller compared to similar wraps I've had elsewhere, and the filling was inconsistent. About half of it barely had any chicken, while the other half had a decent amount. I really enjoyed the pasta salad and I liked the added touch of arugula--it gave it a fresh, slightly peppery twist that stood out. read more

This is such a great spot in South End. Large menu and lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Very good food read more
I was craving the super Caesar wrap and decided to try this location. I was grabbing it to go and thought for sure they would validate my parking. Nope so word to the wise find street parking or order in advance and just run in to pick it up otherwise this could be a costly meal with the parking included. The wrap was delicious and the truffle fries were good but not crispy at all. I also never received a text saying my food was ready I just happened to check the shelf after about 10 mins and my order was ready. Nice cute spot with plenty of seating. read more

This was a really nice spot for a small brunch. The pancakes were my favorite by far. The eggs Benedict were a bit over cooked but the meal itself was delicious especially the biscuit. The server was amazing and had great recommendations. We did have to wait for our table even though we had a reservation. It was nice to be able to walk the small market while we wait so it made it go by quicker. I would come back here again. There was parking in a garage and street parking but I don't remember if the parking had a cost when I went. Also it wasn't validated. read more

The Salted Melon has been on my list for places to go in Charlotte for a while now! On a recent trip to Charlotte to visit our daughter, my husband & I had the opportunity to visit The Salted Melon for brunch. What a delight! Although the restaurant seemed quite busy, our party of 3 was seated immediately. We ordered lattes which came out super quick. My daughter ordered the "Poke Me Bowl," my husband ordered the Steak & Eggs and I ordered the "Farmer Breakfast" with the eggs over medium. All of our items were fresh and the food came out quickly. Our server was attentive and friendly. We spent a little time browsing through the store part of the restaurant after we finished our meal and we were all impressed with the variety and the many options for healthy treats. We look forward to coming here again the next time we are in Charlotte. read more

Burrito i had was excellent flavor and the staff at the bar very attentive. The potatoes on the side were bah but no complaints. I like the decor and it's very nice and cozy for one to work or read a book and relax. Didn't know it was a concept of Reid's but makes sense after walking around. read more

Salted Melon Market and Eatery Service - 7.5 We had a 1:00 reservation, but got caught in traffic. As soon as I realized we were going to be late, I called and notified the restaurant. They said it would be no problem. When we arrived at 1:18, I gave the young lady at the hostess stand my name and she said "our grace period is only 15 minutes just wait over there." I explained that I'd called ahead. She shrugged and walked off. A minute later a very sweet young lady approached and took us straight on our table. (Note: the restaurant was less than half full) From that point on service was great, but first impressions make a difference. Ambiance - 8.0 Nice and bright with a cute market and bakery component. Food - 2.5 Note: we did speak with a manager. She said her executive chef was on vacation and they were training a new chef. Truffle Fries - slightly salty but good. Beignets - these came out completely raw in the center... not soft, but fully uncooked dough. Salted caramel had no salt and the raspberry sauce tasted like Smuckers. Steak and eggs - steak was unseasoned, over seared but barely rare inside. But the hollandaise sauce was the texture of scrambled eggs (see pic). Fried eggs and breakfast potatoes were fine. Poke Bowl - nothing in the bowl had been seasoned, except for the quick pickles, which were good. The tuna was room temperature, with no chill at all. It felt unsafe to eat. Overall - 3.5 Caveat - I spoke with the manager, because I hate seeing reviews and then the manager responds saying they had no idea there were concerns. That's unfair to them. After describing the meal experience, she apologized, explained the issues in the kitchen and comped the entire meal (I asked her multiple times not to and I tipped on the total original check amount). She also gave us a gift card in hopes we would return, but I honestly don't think we will. Hopefully others have had a better experience. read more
I have been to Salted Melon once and loved their caprese sandwich. Loved the interior. More recently I ordered delivery and got their Miss Melon smoothie, Berry Patch juice, and Avocado toast. I'm sure the delivery speed impacted my experience but everything was SO good. The smoothie was clearly fresh and had some small watermelon chunks. The juice was tart (which I love) and totally refreshing. The avo toast was classic but the seasoning on top took it to another level. read more
Salted Melon is one of my favs, the street car bowl and watermelon margarita were SO good. Service was fast and the serving staff is always so great. It is open and has bright space. It has the ability to be a fast food option if desired (take and go). So yummy, definitely give it a try!! read more
This was my first time visiting for restaurant week and this place has it all. It's a market, coffee spot, brunch/lunch spot, cocktail spot, and for dinner it's a fine dining location. The service was good, the food was delicious. It wasn't too crowded on a Thursday night, I'd guess because this place is newer, but definitely a spot to stop by and try. read more
I visited this location during restaurant week and had the best time! We happened to be there on martini night where all martinis including the custom espresso martini menu were $10! I opted with a salted caramel flavor and toasted marshmallow on top. It was dessert before dinner and I have no regrets- perfection! We did the pre fix menu and enjoyed our prosciutto cups with cheese and fig as a starter. I had the steak frites which I forgot to take a pic of and it was good, not great and I would opt to try a different menu item next time. The fries were delicious and I dipped them in my salad dressing which was a Caesar something or another. Very tasty! The service was great and friendly and the tiramisu was delicious! I was sad they were out of their 12 layer cake but I'll try that next time! I would definitely return and look forward to my next visit. read more
I had such a wonderful experience at Salted Melon! We came here for lunch on a girls trip, and it was such a great idea. There is something for everyone on the menu, and plenty of healthy options. We ordered at the front, and got a number and a food runner brought our stuff out to us. The restaurant itself was very large and had a little market inside as well. I don't want to sound dramatic, but this kale caesar might've been one of the best I've ever had. I usually am not big on kale, but it was wonderfully incorporated in this salad and didn't overpower it. The steak was excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned for my taste. I also love when the dressing comes on the side so you can put as much as you need without it getting soggy. I would love to come back here and try additional things on the menu! read more

Salted melon is a great place for breakfast or lunch. They offer a big variety of healthy options like bowls, salads, wraps, and an all-day breakfast menu. My go-to choice is usually an avocado toast with a poached egg or the Fancy Farmer bowl. "That's How I Bowl" is extremely delicious and satisfying; the chorizo spice really adds a twist, and I absolutely love this dish for my breakfast. My boyfriend usually chooses a Five-star Steak sandwich or a Street Car bowl. Both are delicious, and the meat is great. By the way, the portion sizes of all dishes are huge. Coffee-wise, it's not my favorite place, but if you have your coffee with flavored syrup, it will not disappoint you. The place gets quite busy closer to lunch time. If you decide to sit in their cafe area, the service can be pretty slow, but you can make an order at their to-go station and get your food faster, but in a takeaway package. They also have a cute market inside with different snacks, international food, and a deli. Summing up, I like Salted Melon for their food, the variety, and the atmosphere that is food court-like. read more

Parking- they have street parking or you can park in their parking garage. I don't think they validate parking. Plenty of spaces in the garage though. Ambiance- it has a little bit of everything. It's a restaurant, bar, grocery store and bakery inside. I love it. I feel like you wouldn't have a hard time finding something to eat. Their food is good. I got the salmon and the sauce on it was delicious- it was sweet. The nachos were also good because of the avocado and mangoes. The service is good. Very attentive and nice staff. Very friendly. They have a good selection of food and drinks on their menu. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu although I would say it's a little pricey. read more
