Local Farmer Plate
Trey R.

Finding fresh, fast-casual food has been so tough for the longest time. It's so uplifting to see restaurants trending in a better direction of local, healthy, and tasty food and Naked Farmer is the perfect example. I went here for the first time on a Saturday evening and the place was breathing with people. Still, the staff made an effort to greet everyone and provide assistance with the somewhat overwhelming menu. To limit my decision fatigue, I opted for the Local Farmer Plate which came with chicken, rice, sweet potatoes and broccoli. My words cannot do justice how delicious each ingredient was and the plate as a whole. The atmosphere was incredible with a decent amount of indoor seating, which made the experience all that much better. I still can't believe how kind the staff is, it must be something in the food. I understand why my buddy enjoys at this place so much since it's some of the freshest, delicious food I have ever had at a fast-casual style restaurant. I look forward to returning and hopefully more places follow suit in Charlotte to place such a heavy emphasis on quality ingredients.

Positive experience. We came on a Thurs night just before 6PM and the place was pretty busy. Upon entering, we had a friendly greeter providing a menu and an overview of how to order. The menu has prearranged selections or you can build your own bowl - which is the route we took. They have indoor seating as well as a nice patio (shaded in the evening). My bride went with the Salmon with Street Corn, Green Beans and Kale ($22) and I went with the Rosemary Roasted Chicken Breast with Sweet Potatoes, Green Beans and Quinoa ($18). We both really enjoyed our selections and commented about how all the items were fresh and well prepared. We will come back again!

LOVE LOVE LOVE Naked Farmer! Stumbled upon this place during my recent trip to Charlotte. All the food here is fresh and of good quality. The bbq chicken is made on the grill and is packed with flavor. Highly recommended this! My steak was also cooked perfectly, although a bit pricier. We also loved the cornbread!

What's all the crave about? Honestly, the hype is real. The food is fresh and really good, and even though I'm not the biggest fan of the rice, everything is so well seasoned that it left me full and feeling like I actually got some good nutrients in. The mac & cheese is the star of the show, no contest. Coming in a close second is the honey BBQ chicken, and the salmon rounds out my top three. Every dish hits. Fair warning: it's busy pretty much anytime you go, so plan accordingly. My one real gripe is that they close in the middle of the day and then reopen later. It throws me off sometimes because I'll be in the mood for it, and they're not open. Definitely check the hours before you head over. All in all, well worth the visit.

I'm truly so shocked at how delicious this restaurant is being a healthier option! This is fairly new to South End and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. When I walked in the line was around the building but I think the staff did a great job of directing traffic and handing out menus while waiting. I wanted to try more than one thing and adding a side wasn't all that pricey especially for a healthier take out option I believe it was $5 or so depending on what you got. The pesto is an absolute must- the sides typically don't need a sauce since they are flavored very well but the pesto just adds so much more flavor! The best part is the pesto is nut free but doesn't taste like it at all! I would definitely get the Mac and cheese too!! Gosh that was absolutely delicious and sometimes I still dream about it because it was that good. Cheesy, buttery, soft and even heated up very well the next day without the butter separating. If you are into healthy eating I would definitely stop here! It is a little pricey ~$20 for a meal but you can get two meals out of it!

Family southern comfort meal

Naked Farmer fits the new aesthetic of SouthEnd. The food is fresh and has some flavor but it was not for my older southern parents and auntie. They totally didn't enjoy the concept or the food. They also had a fit about there being no ice for the water (and no they have never been to Europe). I had looked at the menu before and decided that the family option was the best option for my family. I got the Family Southern Comfort meal. I asked if you could switch out the veggie and was told yes. I asked for green beans instead of the sweet potato. There was a lot of confusion in the line and they packed sweet potatoes instead of the green beans. I decided not to say anything about that. However after looking at the portion size of some of the items (the macaroni especially) I asked if we could get some more added to the bowl. It was barely any in there and I was told they weigh the portions out. I never saw a scale or saw any of our dishes on a scale! So for the cost and the portion sizes they gave me I wouldn't recommend the family meal. I would have come out better if so had let each person order their own meal. We would have had variety and more food. We were definitely given less food for the family meal option compared to each person getting an individual meal. Overall I wasn't impressed by the meal, portions or flavors. We did receive good customer service from Brece. Naked Farmer 2725 S Blvd Ste A Charlotte, NC 28209 (Review 18 in 2026 and 913 overall)

Great dining experience! When you enter Naked Farmer, you are greeted by a friendly hostess who explains the ordering process to you prior to making your selection. You can order a preset plate, without making any alterations, or you can build your own. They have a great selection of veggies and meats and different sauces to add of your choice. I decided to create my own bowl and it was amazing! I selected the kale w/pecans, sweet potatoes, oyster mushrooms, carrots, and salmon. I also had a side of cornbread, which was so moist and fluffy. Oh, enough, I got to carrots. Farm to table deliciousness that makes your belly feel pleasantly gratified. Reasonably priced and large enough to have leftovers for later. I want to point out that my son and I sat at a community table, as I define it. A table big enough to seat about 12 people. A group came in and they were looking around and they asked if they could sit with us, and I was like, of course, this is a community table. Turns out they were celebrating the birthday of a co-worker and we all communed like family. It was such a great experience. We chatted, we laughed and even was a part of their group photo.

Naked Farmer is an absolute must! I came here for the first time with my wife, and we could not have had a better experience. This is farm-to-table done right. If you're looking for a fresh, feel-good dining experience in Charlotte, this place absolutely delivers. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place is all about quality--from the welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtfully crafted menu. The food is the real star here. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, with bold flavors that prove healthy eating doesn't have to be boring. Their farm-to-table approach really shines through, with seasonal ingredients that feel both nourishing and satisfying. Whether you go for one of their hearty bowls or a lighter plate, every bite feels intentional and well-balanced. We tried the Southern Comfort Plate, the High Protein Plate, the cornbread and the fig cake. Everything was delicious. What makes Naked Farmer stand out is how it perfectly blends convenience with quality. It's fast-casual, but the food feels closer to something you'd expect from a sit-down restaurant. The portions are generous, and you leave feeling full--but not weighed down. The staff is another highlight--friendly, efficient, and clearly passionate about what they do. Even when it's busy (which it often is, for good reason), the service stays quick and upbeat. Overall, Naked Farmer is a must-try in Charlotte's South End. It's the kind of place you'll find yourself coming back to again and again--whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or a healthy, satisfying dinner.

I was anticipating the opening of this restaurant and it did not disappoint. We arrived on a Sunday around 4 pm. We were expecting a very long wait, but surprisingly even with a longer line, we got through to order in about 7 minutes. We were greeted by (who I believe to be) the manager and the first person on the assembly line. Everyone was very friendly and service was quick. I ordered a harvest plate (BYOB) where I could choose from grains and grains, two sides, and a protein. I chose greens, carrots and broccoli as my side, and salmon for my protein which was around $20 base price. I also ordered an extra side of mac and cheese, cornbread, and sticky date toffee cake. Everything was fresh and delicious! I couldn't stop eating the mac! I also tried the basil pesto, spicy aioli, and hot maple sriracha. They were all flavorful, but the aioli was my least favorite. I came with my family, so in total it was 5 of us. We were concerned that we wouldn't be able to find seating, but the tables were opening up pretty quickly. We sat and ate while I took in the ambiance. The restaurant was very clean and felt airy. I enjoyed the decor and the lighting. They also have a patio with tables and heaters! I really enjoyed my visit and the food. This will definitely stay in rotation!

Winter Citrus Farro V, Tomato & Cucumber Salad GF-V, Street Cart Corn, Green Beans with Crispy Shallots
Rose S.

Let's start w/one of those hot items - the tables have hooks for females to put handbags. Given the chairs don't have backs, this is crutch. It's a smaller, community seating style and very noisy. So noisy can't ask the servers about allergens. The menu nor the cards identifying the dishes have allergens and it's so loud and they are goi g so fast to move the line that there's no time to ask before it hits your bowl. Please put the ingredients on the menu or in the identifying cards. Loved the street corn. The tomato cucumber salad was literally tomatoes w/1 slice of cucumber. It tasted like a lemon style dressing. Expected the green beans to be crispy and to have more flavor. There was the snap of a fresh green beans but was it crispy no and there was no shallots. The winter farro had some sort of what seemed like a nut that I didn't care for. Wish we still lived down the street vs 30 mins away to become a regular at this healthy joint.

Homemade Cornbread

I'm not one too keen on taking people's word for it when it comes to food. I always have to see for myself before I can trust that a new spot is what the streets say it is. This is my third attempt at going to Naked Farmer. First time I arrived after it closed, second time, the line was done the sidewalk; but today, I got there and the line was short enough for me to hop in. I am thoroughly impressed. The options were almost overwhelming but everything I got was very flavorful & they pack the Togo plates full. Although it has the set up like Cava & Chipotle, I have never been given this much food at either of those establishments. Everything was so good. I'm literally sitting here thinking about when I'm going back lol. It is a little pricey but In my opinion you are getting what you're paying for. Absolutely. Charlotte just got a real gem. They need another location on the Northside too. 5 stars

Treba D.

This place was everything they hyped it up to be. Fresh farm to table food served in a somewhat fast casual dining establishment. The manager informed us the food has been sent to the store and cooked no more than 3 days from when we eat it. The line for this place was out the door but moving rather quickly. A friend and I went and ordered two custom plates to get a chance to sample a little bit of everything and it all was delicious. My favorites were the steak, mac and cheese and pecan kale salad. We were also informed there may be more to look forward to from Named Farmer including live music and possibly liquor. Stay tuned!

John A.

It's my first time here upon a recommendation from a coworker. I'm in from out of town. I'll post more later but barbecue chicken thighs street corn mac & cheese you can't go wrong. When we entered, they greeted us right away. Super nice people in the store were super nice. All the employees were great food look great. I got extra to go. Thanks again. The interior of the building while not giant was well put together while organized and had a great vibe. Certainly would recommend if in the area.

We were seated at high top tables near the bar. Pretty cool interior space, lots of wine on display, and one wall was covered with old wine boxes. It wasn't noisy at all and it was nice not having to shout over a booming music. As for the main event, the food and wine: 1) I'm writing this pretty buzzed so my recollection may be hazy, but I got the "Here Comes the Sun" flight and my GF got the "Bubble Me Up, Scotty!" flight. Not only a good value (3x 2oz tasters for about the same price as a glass [6oz] of wine), but all six of the items in our flights were quite good. We ended up getting two more glasses each of our favorites of the three (Lambrusco for the missus, Grüner Veltliner for me). As for food: I got the shrimp cocktail (4.5/5) and my GF got the lamb sliders (also 4.5/5). And we split a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, which oddly enough to say, was the best Caesar salad we've ever had. Perfect dressing-to-lettuce ratio, the dressing was excellent, and the grilled chicken was perfect. And then we got 4 doughnuts for dessert. We shared our meals because they were both so flavorful but at the end were still a little hungry and wished there was bread service available to order along with the meals or sides that we could add to our meals for a little extra $. We did notice that on the menu for the burger, you could add a side of fries for $3. Otherwise the appetizer of fries goes for $13. We ended up ordering a slice of the chocolate cake. It's a slightly dense version with ganache and was very good. Overall we were so happy with our food and drink choices and look forward to coming back. The only little disappointment was when I made the reservation, it asked if there was a celebration and I checked the box that it was a birthday celebration. There was never a "happy birthday " wished to us or any mention at all. In no way, do I want or need somebody coming out and singing happy birthday to me but it's always nice when a restaurant will actually wish a person a happy birthday or maybe give a small dessert after the meal. I specifically look for restaurants that do this when choosing where to eat for a special occasion. So will I come here again? Absolutely, it will go into the regular rotation. Will I choose Foxcroft for our birthdays or anniversary? I would probably choose somewhere else where they acknowledge it.

Mainly writing this review because of the service - I joked with the sommelier (?) that you'd never know this is technically a "chain" because the experience is so intimate and feels local. Our hostess (so sorry can't remember her name) checked us in and let us grab a drink at the bar as we were early to our reservation. When my boyfriend went over to ask about the potential for getting a booth, because we're both very tall, she remembered his name and made it happen. Our server, Nick, was the best. So attentive without being too much, and timed each course perfectly so we weren't overwhelmed with food nor waiting around for the next dishes. Our sommelier (I think that's what it is) was also a delight to have around. The manager came over when we first got seated to give us water for the table, and I really appreciated seeing that as opposed to someone overseeing in the background. It's so nice to see a restaurant function efficiently without sacrificing personality and experience.
