3.5/5 stars. I had high expectations but was disappointed right when walking in the door. A place named Flora, you think would have plants everywhere... they do, but they are fake. Which was extremely disappointing especially since there is so much natural light in that space. Even the outdoor plants were fake. The decor was super cutie I liked it a lot, except for the fake plants... 1/5 stars for service. We waited at our table for over 10 minutes and still no one had come over to fill our waters or greet us. We ended up having to flag a server down. The server who came over was not our server but was friendly and filled our waters and took our drink orders to put in. Drinks took a while because "the bar is busy" but there were maybe 10 tables occupied in the entire restaurant. I have bartended and served and that is not considered busy, at all. After our drinks came out it was maybe another 5-8 minutes until our server showed up. By that point we had been there 30 minutes and just saw our server for the first time! We were informed that Social Hour (happy hour) is only at the bar, which is not said on the website. That definitely needs to be updated to say BAR ONLY. Drinks and food were delicious. Overpriced appetizers, but still good to share. We got the burrata, mussels, and deviled eggs. All were great! Lavender martini was yummy! One of the few lavender martinis where I could actually taste the lavender, very impressed with that. They do $10 martini Monday for their 3 martinis on the menu. However if you want to sub out vodka for gin or another liquor, you cannot do the $10 deal. Parking is free at Atherton Mill parking lot/garage. There is an entrance on South blvd (main entrance) and another entrance in the parking garage.
This was my first time trying this place with some girlfriend and it was amazing. The ambience the service the food the drinks the location was great. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. I would come here again and try another Disch but so far everything I tried came out great I have the scallops and that was amazing. The crème brûlée was really good for dessert. I had the outback red wine. Everything was good.
This restaurant is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful greenery throughout, comfortable seating, and a really inviting atmosphere. Our server, Mark, was personable, attentive, and did an excellent job walking us through the menu while we were there for a friends birthday. We went on $10 wine glass night (Wednesday), which was a fantastic value. The appetizers and salads were all excellent. The burrata and arancini were fresh and flavorful, and everyone loved their salads. The cocktails were a little hit-or-miss for me. I found the espresso martini too sweet, although my friend absolutely loved it. Our mains, though, were all perfectly cooked. I had the salmon, which was excellent, especially with the flavorful tomato sauce. The desserts were really fun and beautifully plated. I probably would have skipped the flower pot dessert, since it was essentially Oreo topping and ice cream, but honestly, my kids would have been thrilled by the presentation . The restaurant is definitely a little too nice for me to bring them, though! Overall, I loved this place and can't wait to come back, especially with my vegetarian and vegan friends. The menu feels fresh, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared, and I left feeling satisfied without that heavy, overly indulgent feeling. And a bonus: parking was super easy with the Atherton Mill deck. Definitely looking forward to going back!
I am always on the look out for a cutie restaurant and this was right up my alley. It's in the most perfect location and parking is pretty simple especially with the mall right around the corner. I tried to get a reservation but there wasn't any availability however, we were able to walk right in and sit at the bar. We ordered a true "girl dinner" truffle fries and a Caesar salad. They accidentally brought us the burrata but offered it to us for free which was really nice! Everything was so yummy and the salad was quite large! The vibes were so high especially with all of the florals around the restaurant and cute vintage plates they served food on. The bartenders were so kind- we asked for a straw but they don't have cocktail straws so the bartender cut a straw for the perfect cocktail size.
Flora completely exceeded my expectations. My friend and I went yesterday around 1pm on a Saturday, and from the moment we saw it, we were both completely taken aback by how beautiful it is. The floral, whimsical decor is so thoughtfully done without feeling over the top. It genuinely feels like you've walked into another little green world. It was pretty busy when we arrived, but we were lucky enough to grab seats at the bar. We had Jaylyn (and Jaylyn, if I absolutely butchered the spelling of your name, I am so sorry), and she was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu and was able to answer every question we had. She probably could've told us the seasonings the kitchen was using. She was that good. We could tell she actually loved what she was serving, which made the whole experience even better. We were a little disappointed to find out the brunch menu isn't available quite yet, but honestly, I'll happily come back just to try it when it is. (Management, if you're reading this: for the love of God, please, please, please, start doing brunch. I beg you.) I ordered the watercress and pear salad and truffle fries, and both were incredible. Then, somehow, Jaylyn managed to track down the LAST coconut + lime crème brûlée for us. I genuinely have no idea how she pulled that off, but I am very grateful she did. I was already full, and somehow that dessert still disappeared immediately. Everything was just so thoughtfully done, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. And I have to mention the bathrooms because even those were beautiful. The accessible stall also has a changing table, which I thought was such a thoughtful detail for parents. This was one of those places where you leave already talking about when you can come back. 10/10 experience. I cannot wait to return for brunch.
Flora caught my eye because of the insanely pretty decorations... this is seriously one of the most aesthetic restaurants ever, and it made for a very pleasant dining experience. However, they're definitely still figuring things out, as another fellow Yelper mentioned... keep in mind they are not open for brunch until at least August 8th, and more likely August 15th. I really wish they'd make this more known as myself and other parties were very disappointed to learn this only after being seated for our reservations. Their brunch menu seems like a standout, so I was really hopeful to try it out. It felt a bit sneaky as they publish the brunch menu outside the restaurant, on their website, and even give you the menu, likely to attract customers and prevent people from turning away. That being said, we did have a nice experience. Our server was very friendly and attentive, and of course, the restaurant is very pretty, from the elaborate decor to the dishes and silverware. What we tried: - Lobster roll (4.5/5): generous amount of lobster meat, which was great. The brioche bread was soft, flavorful, and eggy - very delicious. I loved the seasoning on the fries, super tasty. - Sweet basil chicken (4.5/5): the flavor was great! The chicken was very smooth. Portion was a bit small for the price point, but it was good. Definitely very shareable. The couscous veggie mix was unique and healthy. - Patatas bravas (4/5): this was really unique with the Japanese bonito flakes; quite tasty.
Food was great! The restaurant was very accommodating when we made a reservation for our group of 12. They were able to seat us in two booths right next to each other, which worked out perfectly for our group. We had a great experience.
Perfect new addition to the heart of south end. Awesome to park at Atherton and walk right over. Great location and total facelift from the previous establishment. It is light and airy and so nice inside. The food was UNREAL the flavors were so good and different. Also went for my birthday and the staff were so kind and welcoming. So happy to go back and try more - especially once they eventually have brunch! Also.... Peach sangria is a MUST
The ambiance here is super cute, however, I would've loved if more of the plants were real! The service was great and the food was good. I would definitely order the deviled eggs again, and while I enjoyed the flavor of the risotto it wasn't quite as creamy as I hoped it would be.
Flora is a great addition to South End. It's in the old Eagle space at Atherton Mill, completely redone with floral walls, a big goddess mural, and mismatched vintage china. We ordered a lot and almost everything landed. Saffron mussels were the standout, we needed extra bread for the broth. The lobster roll costs real money but had more claw meat than any roll I've had in Charlotte. Sweet basil chicken came with beautifully crisp skin over succotash and pearl couscous. The chicken sandwich is big and crispy with only a whisper of heat. For dessert, the carrot cake is a serious contender for best in the city, and the flower pot dessert is a fun one to order for the table. Sierra the GM and our server Jenae were both fantastic, and the kitchen split plates for us without any fuss. Two notes: the fries are on the softer side (ask for crispy if you want them that way) and weekend brunch just launched, Saturday and Sunday 11 to 4. Will be back. For transparency, I was invited by the restaurant to try the menu. My opinions are my own.
Very tasty food, exceptionally friendly staff, and a beautiful atmosphere. Located in one of the best areas of Charlotte, this place is definitely worth a visit. It's not cheap, but the quality of the food, the service, and the overall experience make it well worth the price. I would happily come back!
I've been a customer of the original WHB location for a while now and was so excited to see it coming here to Charlotte. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Everything ran exceptionally smoothly considering the very recent opening. If you go the burrata and flower pot are a must. The scallops, salmon, and soba noodles are all well rounded entree options. Not to mention, this restaurant is beautiful with a fun but cozy environment. Wishing the best to the staff, management, and owners on this exciting new journey!

This restaurant is Beautiful. from the time you walk in...the vibe is awesome. The decor reminds you of a Magical place here on earth. Our waitress Gigi was so nice and very attentive. She made sure we felt very welcomed. Now on too the food. I order the crispy chicken sandwich and fries. My friend ordered the pan seared branzino and a raspberry mocktail. We were very satisfied with the delicious favor of our entrees. This restaurant is a must visit place. I highly recommend! read more
The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing, and it was pretty easy to locate with convenient parking available. We were seated shortly after checking in and greeted by our server soon after, which made for a smooth start to the experience. We ordered the mocktails, which were tasteful and enjoyable. The deviled eggs were also good. My sister ordered the chicken succotash, and unfortunately, she felt that it lacked flavor and that the portion size was on the smaller side. I ordered the burger, which was decent overall. While there were some enjoyable aspects to the experience, nothing really stood out enough to make me feel like I absolutely have to return. Overall, it was a nice experience, but I'm undecided on whether I would visit again. read more

Very tasty food, exceptionally friendly staff, and a beautiful atmosphere. Located in one of the best areas of Charlotte, this place is definitely worth a visit. My wife and I went to Flora in South End today. They said it was only their 16th day being open. We both got a filet and they were cooked perfectly, super tender and delicious. We shared the pistachio olive oil cake for dessert and I did not need to know how good that thing is. Trying to lose some weight, but with a temptation like that out there, it makes it tough. Needless to say the entire meal was delicious and we definitely be back read more
