Here we are again. Nathan was so Adamant and convincing that we had to try the dinner here, so we came into dinner to try the different entrées they had available. Came in and we chose a table to sit at. It wasn't very busy however service was a bit slow. There was only one server and he seemed to be very busy trying to fill the takeout orders and waiting tables for the ones coming in for dining in. Ambience was casual and relaxed. FOOD CARBONARA SPAGHETTI Creamy white sauce, bacon, and sauteed onion 13 Add CHICKEN $15.00| SHRIMP $17.00 Very good and flavorful LOBSTER RAVIOLI $19.00 Lobster-filled ravioli tossed in sherry lobster cream sauce Oh that sherry lobster cream sauce, it was so good I ate every last bit of it. It was also topped with some jumbo shrimp. Ravioli filled with lobster was so delicious. I just wish I had a bit more on my plate, because, I did share. CAJUN PASTA Sausage, Roma tomato, red and green peppers, Cajun cream sauce, cheese CHICKEN 15 | SHRIMP 17 | COMBO 19 This entrée was very flavorful filling, and the portion was huge and shareable . We wander sometimes to see what is on this or that road. Wife and I drove through Lancaster, crossed Hwy 9 and turned on to Flat Creek Road to Antioch, saw Grandmas House and pulled in. Formerly part of a service station, this very nice, homey family restaurant has a little bit of everything to choose from. Look at the menu to see. They have a good selection of pasta dishes and Mexican entrees. We discovered that a Mexican couple started and run the cafe. Very clean and spacious. There was only one other table occupied when we dropped in. Prices are reasonable and service is very responsive. A good stopping place enroute to the race track or Myrtle Beach. read more

A bit out of the way but the drive is worth the breakfast. The service was excellent, they were attentive without being a nuisance. The food though typical breakfast was served with the correct temp and it was very good. The dining space is a kept clean. Prices on the menu are fairly typical of the area. I visited Grandma's house cafe today and I have sticker shock! A piece of salmon with grits ...$20! Biscuit and gravy with two eggs, $14! Face it, grits, biscuits and gravy and eggs are pretty cheap. Then they tack on another 4% "to keep prices down" . $3.50 for a fountain drink, $3.00 for coffee. The menu prices posted on here are old. This isn't 5 star dining in there! Service was slow and we were three people. The other plate was French toast. Two orders were wrong, the salmon and the biscuit and gravy plate put we kept them anyway because we didn't want to wait longer. A $14 tip was requested but I did tip but not $14! South Carolina sales tax, South Carolina hospitality tax, and 4% tacked on by the business. My total was $70.13 for 3 people, I don't know about y'all but I'm tired of being gouged with all of these fees! read more

This little cafe is easy to miss. Its beside a glass place and has no signage around the door. We stopped in for a late lunch and there were a lot if good things about this place. Pros: Good staff Clean We ordered three meals and some dessert. The opinions on the food were mixed. The mixed vegetables were good and so were the fries but they weren't the correct temperature. The waitress quickly fixed this and the cook sent out fresh fries that were good. The blackened chicken sandwich didnt have much seasoning so it was kind of bland which is the opposite of what you'd think when you order it. The fried chicken was good. Overall, we had a mixed experience but we would try again and order different menu items. The staff was efficient and friendly. read more

TL:DR Uptown Hilton cuisine at Waffle House pricing. This restaurant seemingly doesn't belong in the SC countryside. I've been stopping here occasionally now for over a year and every time I am just wowed. Last time it was the Steak and Eggs breakfast, today was the combo(taste if everything.) The restaurant itself is in a small strip commercial building in the middle of nowhere. Looks to be an old auto service center. Parking enough for 30 cars. The decor is country craft store the seating is Waffle house. Super friendly family service, mom, daughters and maybe brothers in the kitchen? These folks care about their business and their customers. The menu is a bit convoluted with some ameri, mexi, louisiana dishes kinda crossing over. But everything has realy flavor and looks the part too. Strawberry slices and powered sugar on a thin, light perfect pancake. Homefries with some pepper kick, steak cooked properly and of decent size and quality for a breakfast. This food would be the the goal for in lobby restaurant at the Hilton Uptown. But not with the Hilton prices. Look this is a place that needs to be added as a destination if your planning a day trip south east out of CLT. Take the local roads and hit Grandmas on the way out of town. Take a few pics to prove they got some chops out in the sticks. First time visiting my friend that is living in Lancaster, NC and she said this is the place to check out first. We picked it up to go and it was fantastic. I got the corned beef or Reuben on Rye with fries. Amazing portions and huge menu to choose from. We got there a little early so had to wait a few minutes but the energy and space was nice.. one of the servers even refilled my tea while I was waiting which I thought was so nice! read more

I love this place, every time I'm in the area I stop by here. The service is great, atmosphere is quaint and the food is delicious.

This hidden gem has the BEST food in Lancaster and some of the best Italian food that I've had in the Carolina's. The food is flavorful, fresh and the portions are well worth the price! I've been here at least 5 times within the past 2 months and each time the food and service has been consistently exceptional! If you weren't looking for it you would pass it. The building that it is located in is a little dated but I'm sure within time the space will not be able to hold the amount of patrons eating here and they will eventually move closer in town to a central location that the food and staff deserve! The Lobster ravioli is the best that I've had and I've had some from various "upscale" restaurants around Charlotte. The chicken Parm is my go to now and the Salmon penne is divine! read more

Burger was one of the best that I have had, tomato and lettuce were fresh. My friend had the special of the day, rice beef bowl, she said it was delicious. What made this first time visit even better was our server, Nathan. He was friendly, made recommendations on his favorites, checked on us, filled our drinks without asking. I hate to write this review. This has been one of our favorite restaurants in Lancaster since it opened. Well they changed their menu and removed everything item me and my bf loved. I was stuck with super salty over cooked food. My French fries looked like they were the leftover from whatever bag they came out of. Needless to mention we were the only people in there. And as sweet as the waitress was, we had to ask for water refills and silverware. read more

Awful. There was hair in my coffee cup and several more hairs found in the food. The manager refused to remove from our bill or even discount it. She refused to come out of the kitchen to speak with us. The very young waitresses were very nice but were not equipped to handle this situation. My wife brought to my attention this past week that there was a restaurant that she wanted to try. It was called "Grandmas House Cafe". Now I live in a town that is totally bereft of mediocre much less elevated cuisine. I have lived here for 35 years and the best restaurant experience thus far has been Applebees which has suffered from incompetent wait staff and mediocre but high cost fare. And for the entirety of that period of time, we have always had to drive to Charlotte to find anything that was cooked to perfection, was nicely seasoned or was something that we hoped to try and replicate in our home kitchen. Let me tell you, Grandma's fills the bill. The first night it was Italian. What a pleasure! For me, the Quattro Formaggi dish was incredible. My wife had the Carbonara and both dishes were well presented and more than we could handle (Next day's lunch!). Today, I went for lunch and had the Reuben Sandwich. Keep in mind that I grew up in NY and have had hundreds of Reubens. This one was fantastic! I could tell that they did not use pre-packaged corned beef but cooked it themselves. Again, the volume of the dish was more than I could handle, but the taste... Unbelievable! There are tons of more dishes on their menus (and I look forward to trying them all). For a foodie that considers Lancaster SC to be culinarily deficient, I am glad to find a place, be it a "hole in the wall", that caters to excellence in all aspects and does not require a mortgage refi to go there. read more
