Great local spot on your drive across SC. Authentic Mexican food with a Southern flair. Great and friendly service as well!

This little cafe is easy to miss. Its beside a glass place and has no signage around the door. We stopped in for a late lunch and there were a lot if good things about this place. Pros: Good staff Clean We ordered three meals and some dessert. The opinions on the food were mixed. The mixed vegetables were good and so were the fries but they weren't the correct temperature. The waitress quickly fixed this and the cook sent out fresh fries that were good. The blackened chicken sandwich didnt have much seasoning so it was kind of bland which is the opposite of what you'd think when you order it. The fried chicken was good. Overall, we had a mixed experience but we would try again and order different menu items. The staff was efficient and friendly.

Just a perfect breakfast out in the country.

TL:DR Uptown Hilton cuisine at Waffle House pricing. This restaurant seemingly doesn't belong in the SC countryside. I've been stopping here occasionally now for over a year and every time I am just wowed. Last time it was the Steak and Eggs breakfast, today was the combo(taste if everything.) The restaurant itself is in a small strip commercial building in the middle of nowhere. Looks to be an old auto service center. Parking enough for 30 cars. The decor is country craft store the seating is Waffle house. Super friendly family service, mom, daughters and maybe brothers in the kitchen? These folks care about their business and their customers. The menu is a bit convoluted with some ameri, mexi, louisiana dishes kinda crossing over. But everything has realy flavor and looks the part too. Strawberry slices and powered sugar on a thin, light perfect pancake. Homefries with some pepper kick, steak cooked properly and of decent size and quality for a breakfast. This food would be the the goal for in lobby restaurant at the Hilton Uptown. But not with the Hilton prices. Look this is a place that needs to be added as a destination if your planning a day trip south east out of CLT. Take the local roads and hit Grandmas on the way out of town. Take a few pics to prove they got some chops out in the sticks. NOTE: 1 star remove simply because of the self seating and table types, the food and service are 5's.

First time visiting my friend that is living in Lancaster, NC and she said this is the place to check out first. We picked it up to go and it was fantastic. I got the corned beef or Reuben on Rye with fries. Amazing portions and huge menu to choose from. We got there a little early so had to wait a few minutes but the energy and space was nice.. one of the servers even refilled my tea while I was waiting which I thought was so nice!

The food is always delicious but very expensive. Breakfast here is my favorite. Service is generally nice. It has a small-town feel.

I fell in love with Superica when I first moved to Charlotte nearly three years ago, and it quickly…read morebecame one of my go-to spots for reliable, flavorful Tex-Mex. But I have to start with a small heartbreak: my beloved puffy taco is gone. I grew up in San Antonio, Texas, where the puffy taco was created, and it's deeply nostalgic for me. It's not a sope, not a tostada--it's a true puffy taco, light, airy, and unlike anything else. For a long time, Superica made one that came remarkably close to what I grew up with. Unfortunately, after changes in leadership and kitchen management, it quietly disappeared from the menu. That was a real disappointment. That said, I still come back--because the food here is consistently good. The crispy tacos with picadillo are my current favorite. Picadillo (P-I-C-A-D-I-L-L-O) is a traditional Latin dish with many regional variations, and this version reminds me of the one my grandmother used to make in San Antonio. The portions are generous, the flavors are balanced, and the menu offers something for everyone--from enchiladas and chile rellenos to steaks and fresh tableside guacamole. Speaking of guacamole, I'm a purist. I like it simple: avocado, jalapeño, cilantro, lime, garlic--chunky and clean. Superica delivers on that. The chips and salsa are bottomless, the salsa has great depth of flavor, and for those who like heat, they offer a tiny dropper of hot sauce that is smoky, bold, and absolutely not for the faint of heart. The ginger margarita is another standout. It comes with a generous piece of crystallized ginger and has a bright, balanced flavor that makes it easy to order a second one. And if you have room for dessert, do not skip the tres leches cake--rich, decadent, and a perfect way to end the meal. I also appreciate the little touches here: * Friendly, knowledgeable waitstaff * A lively bar area that's great for happy hour * A beautiful outdoor patio that makes al fresco dining feel special * And a fun tradition of sending you home with a packaged Texas praline This South End location is my personal favorite. It feels more adult and relaxed, while the Strawberry Hill location tends to be more family-heavy. Both are good, but the vibe here suits me better. Yes, prices have crept up a bit--as they have everywhere--but the quality, consistency, and atmosphere keep me coming back. And as someone who travels frequently for work across multiple states, I appreciate that Superica maintains a dependable standard wherever I encounter it. Bottom line: Even without the puffy taco, Superica remains one of my favorite Tex-Mex spots in Charlotte. Come hungry, bring friends, share plates--and as always, travel safe and eat well.

I visited with a friend on Cinco de Mayo, so as you can imagine, the scene was absolutely chaotic. The wait was a staggering hour and a half, but Superica handles crowds like a pro. They have an outdoor bar and a grill setup serving: * A limited taco menu * Chips and Queso This was a total game-changer. It's a genius move that keeps the "hangry" at bay while you soak up the South End atmosphere. Once we finally scored two seats at the bar, the service remained impressively steady despite the holiday madness. * The Vibe: 10/10. The restaurant is beautiful and definitely fits the trendy Charlotte mold. * The Food: To be honest, I wasn't blown away. Given the hype and the stunning decor, my expectations were sky-high. The flavors were "decent" and felt like a solid performance, but they didn't quite hit that "must-return" level of deliciousness. * Portion Sizes: Huge! I couldn't finish my meal in one sitting. Here's the interesting part: The food actually tasted better the next day. It traveled well and the flavors seemed to settle in overnight. If you can't finish your plate, definitely take it home. Is it worth the South End gas and the hour-plus wait? For me, I'll probably stick to my "old faithful" spot up in the University area for my routine taco fix. However, I'm willing to give Superica the benefit of the doubt. It's hard for any kitchen to be at its absolute peak on Cinco de Mayo. If I find myself back in the neighborhood on a quieter Tuesday, I'd give it another shot just to see if the food can live up to that gorgeous interior.

They had fútbol games playing on the TVs, which added to the vibe and made it a great casual lunch spot. The tacos here are noticeably bigger than your typical street tacos, and most plates come with a full serving of rice and beans plus a little side of guac and salad, so you're definitely getting a full meal. Everything tasted fresh, but the standout for me was the tortillas. They're clearly made fresh and have that soft, slightly chewy texture you want. You can even buy them by the pound, which is a huge plus. Tried the birria taco, which is actually more of a quesabirria. It was massive and packed with flavor, though a bit heavy on the cheese for my taste. Still very solid overall, just something to keep in mind depending on your preference. Prices are a little higher than you might expect for this type of spot, but the portion sizes help justify it. Service was fast and everyone was very friendly. Just note that English is somewhat limited, but it didn't cause any major issues. Overall, a really good option if you're looking for filling, well-executed Mexican food with great tortillas.
