Applebees in Lancaster SC went down hill during Covid and in 2024 they still have not improved . Rumor has it they hired a new manager so we decided to give it another try . . I have to say they did improve . It's no longer a hang out for employees children , the food has improved along with the service . They do have to do better on cleaning the bathrooms . I haven't had Applebees in years and usually haven't had good experiences, but I decided to give this one in Lancaster a try. Unfortunately I was once again reminded why I hardly eat here. I ordered curbside and that was the only positive about the location. I had my food in less than 5 minutes and the waitress who delivered it to me was very kind and appreciative. Sadly the food did not reflect the service. I got a classic cheeseburger and fries. The fries were very overdone, stale, and had a bitter aftertaste. I can only assume this was partly due to the oil they were fried in not being fresh. The burger patty itself was ok and had decent flavor but the toppings were wilted and didn't taste fresh such as the lettuce and tomato. I only finished it because I was hungry and didn't want to go back out. I would probably not return to this location. If you're looking to simply satisfy your hunger it'll do the job, but don't expect anything above average if that. read more

We went here one night after working and decided to try their menu since it's been years since we've been. It was ok the service was fine but the food was just ok. The boneless wings aren't very good being kinda dry but the honey pepper sauce is good. Mainly too sweet would be better if it was hot. The bourbon chicken was really juicy and the shrimp were tender too, the steak how ever was tough and not very flavorful. Haven't had Applebees in years & decided to give it a chance with my boyfriend. We were immediately sat by a kind man in the corner of the restaurant. After 15 minutes our waitress came to get our drink orders and we went ahead and ordered food as well. My boyfriend got a soda and I decided to get a drink at the bar. We received our appetizer and meal before I ever received my drink. I was not even offered a water in the meantime. When I kindly asked about my drink order, the waitress replied with "the bartender is talking so..." and the waitress walked away. My boyfriend and I shared his soda and we both finished our appetizer and meal. It has now been 45 minutes since I initially gave her my drink order and there were only 5 other couples in the restaurant at the time and 6 waitresses. The place was not busy at all. I told the waitress to cancel my drink order where she states that it's now ironically "on the bar and ready to be served" I told her to cancel the order. I have never been to a restaurant and never received a drink the entire meal. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Do not come here. The waitress even tried to keep the drink on the bill and no manager was in sight. Don't bring anyone you care about here. read more

We visited this Applebees at about 7:30 on a Friday night. It was moderately busy, but they were able to seat us immediately. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and both the appetizer and food came out quickly. We selected the "2 for $25" deal, which is a very good deal, btw. You get an appetizer along with a selection of several of the normal entrees. Just pick two of them. I had the 6 oz. sirloin, and my wife had the half rack of ribs. The sirloin seems like more than 6 ounces. It filled me up. Both meals were good. We were very satisfied. I had looked at the media device on the table, thinking it was a trivia game like you see in some restaurants and bars. Although I didn't play the trivia game, whatever I did caused it to add $2 to our bill. Their billing system wouldn't allow them to take it off the check, but the Manager came and handed me two bucks. No fuss. We stopped and chatted with the General Manager (Frank), and the hostess on the way out, and told them we'll definitely be back. They were friendly and interested in the conversation. The bar staff consisted of two unattractive, overweight girls who slugged along the bar and complained to each other about how much they wished they were still on vacation and rolled their eyes whenever somebody needed something. I ordered a beer and the girl rolled her eyes and tolled me that I'd be better off ordering a bottle because the draft beer sucked. I ordered a burger and it was ok. There is a smoking section in the middle of the restaurant which is kind of weird, but then I'm from Colorado where it has been illegal for several years. We went in and the hostest "iesha" had absolutely no personality she didn't even greet us or say hi she just looked at us and started walking with menus, then we were sat down and sat there for 20 minutes without anyone coming to ask if we wanted drinks or anything. We chose this place so we could get fresh vegetables for the kids in our group. The quality of this food was worse than any bar I've been to. The grilled chicken on my salad wasn't sliced chicken. Worst service ever. Our food took an hour and the restaurant was empty!!! We ordered An apple fritter and when it came out 25 minutes later it was rock solid! The waitress was so slow with everything and the food sucked. My brothers chicken tenders tasted like seafood and they were inedible my grandparents were astonished at the lack of professionalism and food quality at this place. I work in a restaurant myself so I understand that not every night is going to be perfect but tonight just ticked me off so much. I ordered the 3 cheese penne pasta with chicken but what I got served was hard Alfredo pasta with crunchy chicken on top.
