We have grown to like this convenient tavern, located just outside of Sun City Carolina Lakes. It has become very popular and although we do not participate in most of their activities, they have a monthly schedule of bands/music, bingo and trivia nights and other special events. The menu is basic, but more than adequate to satisfy most everyone. And they keep adding things to it, keeping all their standard items. And the bar is a good one. Appetizers are pretty standard. Good variety. One item that I really like and do not find often is catfish. At $14.50 this grilled, fried or blackened fillet is a nice light dinner or lunch. Salads, from $10.95 - 11.50. Their Okra salad is unique. Burgers served with a side. A ton of sandwiches, principally versions of chicken and two sausage versions with grilled veggies. You can delete items from your sandwich, but cannot add on other items. Ditto with flat-breads. Pasta, only Alfredo, and you can add chicken. Fourteen (14) versions of wings, served in 6, 12 or 18 piece portions. Desserts are limited to funnel cake strips. This is not a biker bar...a common comments from people that have never been to a biker bar. You will be eating and drinking with seniors, couples, all sorts of dating couples. Service is quick and friendly. No pretense, Brew's is a nice casual place where you park in the unpaved area surrounding the building. And the prices are very, very reasonable. Third visit, food and service declined each time, we will not be returning. It was so dark at our first table we needed the phone flashlight to read the menu, music was too loud, tea was so sweet I could not drink it, when the food arrived it was overdone. You can do better almost anywhere else. read more

Came here to watch a game with my kid and was a little unsure about this place. We walked into a nice clean sports bar and the staff was really nice. Dint know what to order but our server was great and recommended the wings and Mac and cheese bites. Both were great. The wings were honey flavored with a spice but the spice didn't hit til about the 3rd one. Would definitely watch more games here. Go niners, warriors and giants. read more

Been going here for quite a while and hadn't had a bad experience here yet! The service is great and so is the food! I love the Bang Bang Shrimp and especially the fried catfish! There's always a great vibe in the restaurant with plenty of people to talk to at the bar whenever but especially around big games. read more

Figured I would give this place a shot since I had driven by it dozens of times, but unfortunately no hidden gem here, as sometimes judging a book by its' cover plays out as expected. Walked in and the crowd was pretty much all stationed at the bar watching the car show channel, you know the one where they auction old cars, yeah me neither haha. Asked if the NFL playoff game would be turned on soon as it was starting in about 15 minutes and they said it shouldn't be a problem after it gets underway, but right now all the guys were glued to the car auction show (I took that as my cue to not ask about the pregame show haha). Ordered a beer and the service was fine, nothing special as it just seemed to me that this was a place filled with "regulars" as the guys who came in after me were all greeted when they walked in and seemed to know the other people already there. Nothing wrong with a local tavern that caters to regulars, but the overall vibe it gave off just made me feel like it wasn't a good fit, so passed on food and just paid for my beer and cut my losses. read more

Stopped in to avoid traffic. Very Dark at 5 pm bar had 1 seat open so I sat there. Ordered a chicken club with fries. Brioche bun was good. Chicken was dry and heavily salted. Fries were greasy and heavily salted. Might be ok for a beer but I can't recommend the food. Bartender had pretty good service. read more

We stopped in brews last week for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The tbone steak with the asparagus and potatoes au gratin was excellent, unfortunately my service was not.lindsay was in a sour mood. This was my second such experience with her. Older Bartender man has disgusting bipolar behavior. I tipped 8$ on a total $33 dollar tab and he was so upset over that, that I gave him another $5 and he still wasn't happy! First visit since COVID shutdown. Menu is very limited. No flat bread pizza. No chips and salsa. Not serving any of their prior excellent appetizers. Very very basic. Ordered BBQ bacon burger which was very good as usual. Place was darker (lower lighting) than usual. Felt more like a back road biker bar. Social distancing at the bar was not happening. We first went here over a year ago when we first moved to the area. I don't remember it being bad, but for some reason never went back. We went there for lunch today and it was great. We are trying to give locally owned restaurants to help them stay in business during this virus time. This is definitely a locals place which I like. Very low key. Good/friendly service. My husband ordered the BBQ/bacon burger which was really good, but messy. He got the Onion rings for the side, also good. I ordered the chicken tenders with buffalo sauce on the side. We live in the area and have frequented this place. The food is decent and they have live music, which we are local music fans and follow a lot of local musicians. Personally, my family has owned restaurants for 50yrs and have been a restaurant manager for. many years. Brought my son , who is visiting from NYNY for a fun evening. Service was really bad as they were obviously short handed , very understanding of this. Servers were rude and unhappy and when complained management attacked us about being rude to her servers without asking what had happened... it was obvious she was emotional and protective as if the server were a family member. Not acceptable.to treat the paying customer this way , assuming the server had done no wrong. Will never go back and we will tell all our friends. They may be the only local drinking hole now but this area is fast growing and if they continue to treat customers with disrespect because they think they can they won't be here for long!!! I wish Brew's Tavern would grill their burgers the way the customer wants them. They are friendly people, the service is decent, the prices competitive and the wings good. But you absolutely can not get a burger that is cooked medium or medium rare. All of them are medium well or well. Burgers cooked that way can be good. But these are not. They do not use a quality beef for the burgers. If they used a good, grass-fed beef with a decent fat ratio, a medium-well would be good. But these are cheap patties that are cooked to dry. The wife and I are newer in town and heard good things about Brews. We stopped for dinner tonight - Wednesday. Lot was crowded but restaurant was not so much. Most were in the back playing corn hole. We sat down and waited at least 15 min to get waited on ... in fact told my wife if we didn't get waited in in 5 min. we were walking out. No sooner did Lindsay come over with menus. Fast forward to ordering and food quality. It took another 20 min for food to come... ugh. I had cat fish blackened and fried okra, she got flat bread pizza - all veggies. My catfish was good, okra was slimy. The pizza was burned on bottom and cut up in little odd size pieces. Even the waitress said "I never saw it cut like that and not sure why.." upon returning my wife's refill of unsweetened ice tea came back from Lindsay as sweet tea. At this point we were there so long we just wanted to leave and not continue with returning food and drinks. Again it wasn't busy In restaurant and there appeared to be at least 2 waitresses working. We really wanted to have a good experience but didn't happen. We might be back for drinks and music but not food. read more

Stopped in for a drink after watching a play at Sun City. This review is only for drinks; the service was very good. We sat at a high top table and was greeted by Lindsay who informed of drink specials and food. We ordered drinks they arrived quickly. The pricing is very good here as we had 4 drinks (3 glasses of wine 1 beer) and came to $20. The parking lot is large and the place was very clean. My husband and I went for an early dinner on tues. we didn't know what to expect. Once our eyes adjusted to the darkness we found a very pleasant atmosphere in what looked like a newly renovated sports bar. We were seated immediately and our drink orders taken. I ordered the quesadillas which were very good except they do not serve quacamole with it. My husband ordered the liver (hard to find at most restaurants), and said it was excellent. This is an interesting place. From the outside it looks like something out of the movie Roadhouse. A place where the cops have to come by a twice a week make a couple arrests after bar fight that involves at least one person getting clocked by a broken bottle of Bud. But I digress. We pulled up and parked in the gravel parking lot and made our way in past pickup trucks, mini vans, BMW's and Infinities. Inside looked like someone's basement bar /man-cave. Five TV's turned baseball, hockey and basketball. Normal looking crowd, Tom Petty on the jukebox and Copper on tap. Where am I? This is weird. Hubs had the fish n chips. I had a quesadilla - both not bad. Pretty decent as a matter of fact. Great, attentive service. Now let me enjoy my Copper while I wait for the cops to get here. read more

The first time we came the food was FANTASTIC, crispy and delicious wings, and fantastic cheese fries. The live music was great and service was good. The second time we came it was the exact opposite. The kitchen closes at 10pm but we were told they could do boneless wings and the flatbread. Both were almost inedible. The chicken was actually black it was so over-cooked, and the flatbread made Ellios frozen pizza squares seem like a gourmet meal...a $9 MESS. This time around the band was really really bad...but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that this was their first gig there? Hopefully they won't be back. I'm not sure I'll return for bar bites...maybe just a drink or two. read more

This was bad, really bad. The burgers were horrible. Burger King would have been better. It was thin and totally cooked. I mean, well done. Wonder why the menu says that they cooked them pink.
