I was ordering using free Whataburger coupons. I walked in, waited in line for my turn, and when it was finally my turn, Michael asked for my order in a rude and irritated tone. I explained that I had coupons, and he abruptly told me they were limited to one per person, which I had not been informed of beforehand. After that, he entered my order, repeated everything back to me, and still charged me for the Whataburger. As soon as I realized what happened, I tried to cancel the order, but the payment had already gone through. He then told me he couldn't refund the money back to my card and could only give cash back, which didn't make sense to me since I've worked in fast food for over two years myself and know card refunds are possible. At the end of the transaction, I reached out for the receipt he had just grabbed from the printer, and he responded in a nasty tone, saying, "Umm, this isn't for you. I don't have anything for you." I do not like leaving reviews about people who are simply trying to make a living, especially because I understand how stressful fast food can be. However, having worked in the industry myself, I feel it is unacceptable to treat a customer rudely or make them feel stupid for not knowing information that was never explained to them in the first place. After reading some I the other reviews I realized I had a different experience. This is a brand new Whataburger and the closest to Orlando Florida. We stopped there on the way to North Carolina and had a great experience. My wife and I both had a cheeseburger combo, mine I traded the fries for onion rings which was a dollar more. Both meals were cooked fresh and arrived in just a few minutes. We ate in the dining room which was clean. The service was also good. Only problem we encountered was the women's bathroom was out of order and my wife had to use the men's restroom which was clean and had a locked door. This Whataburger is located near the new Bucees Service Station on the I-95 southbound lane in St Augustine. This will be our new go to when we just have to have a Whataburger. read more

I was staying in a hotel nearby for a convention, and as we don't have Whataburgers in the middle of the state anymore (they both closed down for some reason), I figured I would give this one a shot on the way home after the convention. The burgers appear to be made to order, which is always a good thing. There are places where I live that make a comparable burger for about the same price, which is nice as the burgers are quite good. Inside while I waited it was pleasant, so no issues there, and the employees there were nice enough, allowing me to review the entire menu before ordering. I like to stand back, read the entire menu, then go up and order, not like some people who walk right up to the counter, or stand in line for ten minutes, and only when they get up to the counter do they start reading the menu to decide what they want. Enough of that rant, however. The seating area was in good shape, and I was comfortable while I waited for my food to be prepared. I got the meal to go (just a burger and fries) and enjoyed eating parts of it on the hour long trip back to Gainesville. Had the rest at home where it was still quite good. I'll certainly be returning next year as I will be returning to that convention as well. read more

We have been to the WGV Whataburger several times, with varying success. This time was a late lunch. My teen and I opted to eat inside and were surprised (pleasantly) to find thing calm and running smoothly. The cashier was extremely pleasant and attentive and we ordered easily. The dining room was also very tidy. In the past, it has been less so, so I was pleased to find things in better shape. Our food came quickly, and everything was good and hot. First thing you notice is smell of grease. Then you see staff clowning around and eventually they take your order and payment. Simple for my first time checking this out with not so much confidence I order cheese burger and fries. Waiting wait waiting wait waiting. Observing staff clowning around not making any orders. What a bunch of idiots... First couldn't get the name right even after repeating it 3 times. Then couldn't recognize gender. Kept calling me sir. Pointed it out when they asked my name after finally getting up to the window. "Oh that's what that was". Duh, dumbasses. On to the food. What a disappointment. Could not seem to understand that i did not want mustard. Articulated at least 3 times what I wanted on my burger. Employee taking order finally turned it over to someone else who could understand. After waiting in drive through for 15 minutes, there is no escape to get out of line and get out of horrible experience , and 13+ bucks later, got my order. You would think after 15 minutes you could at least get hot fries, not. And what's up with the big piece of cheese? Do they charge extra for a "big" piece of cheese as opposed to regular size? I live in the area. I have given this whataburger 3 chances now. Each and every time I have waited over 30 minutes for my food. Last night a friend and I waited 25 minutes at 9pm for a chocolate shake.
