I would love to give this Whataburger a five star rating, but the staff sucks!!!!! The cashier was friendly as she started talking my order, then I handed her a coupon and I started giving her my order as she was reading the coupon, she still managed to charge me full price and not give me my drink cup. After we got that squared away I sat down and waited for my food. I watch a friendly older fella that worked in the lobby ask the folks sitting next to me if they needed anything else "anything at all!?" No less than 3 times BEFORE I got my food. I thought to myself " what great service" . Then I got my food and proceeded to eat. The older fella again ask the folks sitting RIGHT NEXT TO ME ( same people as before) if they needed anything, refills?? Anything!! He did this twice as I was eating!! No that I'm sitting here thinking about a drink refill the old timer walks right by me as if I wasn't there. Then he walks up to take my tray. Never once asked me if I needed anything!!! WTF!! My brothers and I had never tried this place before being from California, but had heard glaring reviews from friends who had been from the area/Texas/etc that it was the best burger ever. After trying the restaurant three different times over a week span, I can't say that the burger was better than In N Out, but it definitely was a top 3 burger I've ever had. The burgers themselves were delicious, but the sides were also to die for. The breakfast burger specifically was my unparalleled favorite, along with their sweet tea, which is some or the best ive ever had. I use the drive through all the time and this is my first time inside this location. The cushioned benched seating is so comfortable, wish other places get away from the hard wood seating. My father-in-law said that this place awesome so I figured I would give it a try. I was highly disappointed. Maybe we got them on a bad day, but for my it was just a McDonald's burger but bigger. The food was cold. The burger had no real taste or flavor. I could only taste the onions and mustard on the burger. I have heard the shakes are good but we didn't try them. I have always enjoyed Whataburger, this location is near my work. I usually bring left overs from home. But sometimes I get lucky and get to eat out!! As I say this time and time again. A fast food franchise is just that! So my expectation is not that high! I love their chicken BBQ sandwich! I get this every time I eat at Whataburger. You can compare this to the Carl's Jr BBQ chicken sandwich. Fries are a little salty at times, so I usually ask for no salt. Service was just fine, prices are a little higher? Something happened to this location. It used to be one of my favorites for breakfast. The last two times I went there I had cold gravy in the biscuits and gravy and the second time I had pancakes and sausage and the pancakes had definitely been made before I ordered them. So, first things first: The food is solid. Maybe even upper-intermediate level. The accommodations are generally clean, the tables spick and span, the floors mopped, even the bathrooms are generally presentable. But I have never endured a slower Drive-Thru in all my days. And not just once. Things happen. I can shrug off one long wait, or even two. Life intervenes, I get it. But when I devote the better part of an EVENING to enduring a Drive-Thru that moves at the speed of glaucoma? And then this turns into a repeat occurrence at the same location? It's not me. It's Whataburger. This location specifically. (I've yet to experience this malady at any other) Even the perpetually-swamped In-N-Out burger just a couple exits north can generally manage to move things along faster than the speed of a gall stone. I make my order to a kindly woman, somewhat on the elderly side - whose folksy, deliberate method of taking down my order I attribute to a good 1/4 of the wait time, by the bye - and proceed to wait. And wait. And wait. I withdrew my smartphone and busied myself. I put on one of my favorite albums. That album was playing the LAST SONG by the time I got my food. My experiences with carry-out, on the other hand, are considerably more positive. (If you don't consider 'Crippling Vertigo as a result of the feng shui-shattering building design' to be a negative - hey, we all have issues) Point being: They generally rush your food out in a timely fashion if you actually deign to walk through the door, so what gives with the Drive-Thru? Is the side window a quantum singularity? I have other issues with Whataburger (like assuming everyone wants mustard on their burger by default) but otherwise? No real complaints. Places like this is affected by the quality of the people it employs. This location, in the last four visits i have made, has always been excellent in service and quality of the food. I should have paid more attention to the name of the front person. She is polite, attentive, and very hard working. They're lucky to have her. My chicken sandwich was excellent all around. OMGOODNESS! This was the BEST Whataburger I've ever been at. The employees were all so nice and patient with me and my family. They brought us ketchup and salt (and wow pepper on fries is amazing). I stopped here after work and ordered a PLAIN burger. On the wrapper it said plain, and then I get home and the burger has mustard on it and the burger is dry (had to run to the sink to discard the nasty burger out of my mouth). I tried to wipe it off but was to late. I would have taken it back but I was 15 minutes away. Also the person taking my order was taking very fast and I could not understand her and she asked me questions that were irrelevant to the order. Swung by this location this morning to pick up my call in order. i ordered a grilled chicken melt and a large coffee. marie took my order in a very professional way. she greeted me and sound very happy and pleased to assist me. i had some special instructions on how i wanted my sandwich and she had no problem adjusting to those instructions, to where as most places take that deep breath like they dont wana help u or they want u to order it the way it comes. well not here at this whataburger. my order was made to perfection. grilled chicken was hot and fresh. the grilled veggies were toasty and cooked very well done as i requested. it was prepared on a big bun another one of my requests. my coffee was nice and hot/freshly brewed. donell assisted me and offered me creamer and made small talk which was awesome bcuz most workers this early on dont have that "happy face". overall, my experience here was amazing. the restaurant was clean and free of trash. the exterior of the place was clean as well. i love coming to restaurants that make have such a positive feel and wonderful impact on ones day. i will be returning here more often. and i highly recommend this whataburger to any of u that wana experience perfection as well as tasty fresh, made to order food. good job marie, donell and to the cook on duty this morning. thank you guys for all ur hard work and for making my morning a good one. we need more workers like this. high 5 read more
