Whataburger first-timers here. The sweet girl at the register was super helpful with all our questions. We ordered a couple Whataburgers, a Jalapeño & Cheese Whataburger, and a couple Bacon & Cheese Whataburgers. We all got the medium combos and we thought they gave us the wrong cups because they are huge! The burgers are also huge!! Mustard is the only condiment on the burgers, but they have plenty of sauces available you can add yourself. The fries were pretty good, but could use a lot more salt. This used to be my favorite location but the past 6 months it hasn't been the same. Twice they forgot to include part of my order, the drive thru can be extremely slow. The customer service isn't all that bad but it could improve. Today I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and as I'm eating it I bite into something string which was a wilted piece of tomato and the next bite is an ugly brown piece of lettuce. I hope it improves. Some people like to argue which is better - Whataburger or In N Out. As for me, having tried both, the comparison is flawed. They are a different style or burgers. To me, Whataburger is best compared to the likes of Fat Burger. The style is more alike. So let's stop comparing apples to oranges and say they both have their place. As for Whataburger on it's own, my recent visit was my first time. We only have but one location in the Las Vegas area right now and I am not about to go down the Strip to try it. I happened to be passing through Phoenix on a business trip, though, and took the opportunity to dine in. I ordered a #1 with cheese and a Dr Pepper milkshake. My order was ready in about 5 minutes. The burger was good. Not a "to die for" type burger. But good. Meat, chopped lettuce, chopped onion, tomato, pickle and mustard. As I said earlier, it reminded me of Fat Burger. Which is not a bad thing. I give Fat Burger the edge, though. They make a bigger beefier burger than what I got from here at Whataburger. That is not to say I didn't enjoy my dinner. I've just had better. I had fries on the side. McDonald's thickness which is ever so slightly thicker than shoe string fries. Not a bad thing. Taste was standard. Fries are fries and all tend to taste the same when dunked in ketchup. The Dr. Pepper shake was the real reason I chose Whataburger to have on this particular evening. It's a limited edition release and was worth trying. I had a hard time picking out the Dr. Pepper in the flavor but it was definitely different than just chocolate or vanilla. It was a good shake. I chose this particular location (Bethany Home Rd.) due to the ease of access and the proximity to I-17. Service was friendly. The food was adequate. It gave me the fuel I needed to finish my evening after a long day of travel. For that I am grateful. And now I can say I have tried Whataburger. read more

The restaurant was clean. The cashier was very courteous and helpful. They brought our hamburgers to us. I didn't think to take a picture of the meals. He had a fish sandwich. I had a hamburger and a Coke. The burger was much larger than I remembered them being. However, it was very good with the lettuce, tomato and pickles on it. The staff is very friendly and professional. The store is very clean. My order, "Double beef Whataburger, with bacon, cheese and jalapenos". This is the only Whataburger that has ever asked me, how many slices of bacon? 2, 3 or 4. How many slices of cheese, 1 or 2. I was asked this 3-times. I always answer, "However many you put on a bacon cheese Whataburger burger". I also had to keep repeating my order, "Double beef Whataburger, with bacon, cheese and jalapenos". No onions? "I didn't say that. I want Double beef Whataburger, with bacon, cheese and jalapenos and a small drink, that's all". Okay, you wanted fries with that, right? It kept going on until I simply gave up and left. The conversation was more repetitive than what I wrote but it was painful and forever. Really nice people work here. But, the service was so slow. Our order took several minutes, then came out incomplete, then it was several more minutes until it came out correct. Floors were disgusting. Some lady (?) who sat in the bench before I did must have brushed her long black hair because there was hair all over my bench. Husband and I stopped by on a Saturday around 1. Even though the dining room was busy we opted to eat in. He ordered a Whataburger with cheese and bacon. I ordered a Patty Melt. The cashier gave us our number and we selected a table. In about five minutes our food arrived. Hot and fresh. Gentleman that delivered it was pleasant and provided us with our condiments. My burger was good, but i do wish they'd offer a single patty version instead of just a double. It was hot, cheese gooey and melted with lots of grilled, caramelized onions. Bread toasted nicely. But it still a fast food burger. So why the four stars? Well, cashiers efficient, food runners pleasant, dining area clean and my food was fresh and hot. What more could I ask for? My Family and I have been going to this location for MANY years and quite often. One thing that I really liked was their Chicken Fajita Tacos which are unfortunately no longer available on the menu. Lately there have been issues with several orders and I must admit it is frustrating but they had almost always been friendly and Professional and would fix the problem without issue. I had recently had an issue with their french fries being cold , hard and seemingly stale. I had called about this problem and a Very Nice and Professional Manager named Antonio called me back and offered to replace the 2 Large Fries . So today I was out and about so I decided to stop in at the drive thru and pick up the replacement fries. Unfortunately I misunderstood that I needed the receipt which I had in my purse but somehow could not find today. The Young Lady at the window was nice enough to let me have the fries but told me " next time bring your receipt" That was fine and as she was handing me the fries she asked me "What was the problem this time ? You seem to have a problem, with your orders a lot." And I was a bit taken aback by this as she is a Very Sweet Person and Beautiful Young Lady amd I would always enjoy seeing her when I would come back as she is normally professional and kind. But I , as a customer feel as if the customer should NOT be questioned about issues with their order as it is in NO WAY my fault that the french fries in my order were cold and dehydrated basically. I had gone straight home, have no ac in my car and I do not live far from this location. Due to being made to feel like a burden I will no longer grace this location with my patronage. I came here on a Saturday evening back to late February to pick up a quick dinner. I placed my order on their mobile app and scheduled a pick-up time. Once I arrived, I checked with one of the employees to see if my order was ready. I was a bit early, so I had to wait for my food. In the meantime, he gave me a cup for my drink. Consistently, from restaurant to restaurant.....the Patty Melts are simply DELICIOUS!! 5+ Stars!!! For dessert, they make a pretty darn good Apple Pie. If they get something wrong and you ask for your money back you have to contact customer service, after you wait for 5min on the phone, a customer service agent will get on the phone with you and ask you your address, phone number, and email address. After you provide all of your information, they will tell you that someone will email you in 3 to 5 business days about your refund. This location has nice very friendly employees but EVERY SINGLE time I come here to get a shake (which are bomb!!!) they say "Oh sorry our shake machine is down." The guy taking orders at the drive thru window asked the customers to repeat their orders several times. Why is he working the window if he can't listen to the order the first time? I ordered a simple #2 combo with no mustard, large sized with a root beer and it took them twenty minutes to get that done! The window guy asked me for my order three times before I got my food. I really like this location over others because they have a big dining area, even with every other table available, there's plenty of room to sit inside. Their dining area is clean and so are their bathrooms. The staff is friendly and quick to produce the orders. The food is just like any other location you would visit. But this specific location always gets my order correct the first time which is a huge win for me! The only downfall I'd I say is that it's located in an off area, so depending where you're coming from it can be a pain to enter and exit, especially during rush hours. read more
